The Roto Choir recreates both the rotating lower speaker and the treble rotor horn –the only way to attain that complex, multi-dimensional tone. In fact, the Roto Choir utilizes a specifically formulated SansAmp technology to deliver the entire signal chain –from the original tube power amp to the speaker and high-frequency rotor horn, to the microphone used to capture it. This is HD, 3D emulation.

The simple controls hide a wealth of options. Drive adds just the right amount of compression, harmonics and grit. Low and High sculpt the tube amp emulation with powerful EQ curves. The Fast/Slow footswitch allows users to ramp up, slow down or even stop the rotating speaker. There’s also a dedicated control to custom set the Top Speed of your rotor. Want to vary the intensity of the effect? Simply adjust the Position control to move the Roto Choir’s virtual mic closer or further from the horns. Other features include a biamped/single-speaker mode switch, stereo output and a Speaker Sim switch for direct recording.

Das Catalinbread Belle Epoch Delay-Effektpedal orientiert sich am Sound des legendären Maestro Echoplex EP-3, das in den 1970er Jahren zum Arsenal diverser Helden des Rock gehörte, darunter solche Namen wie Brian May, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour oder Eric Johnson. Sie setzten das Delay oft und gerne ein, neben dem warm klingenden Bandecho-Sound auch wegen seines Preamps, mit dem man einen Amp noch etwas heißer anfahren und zu etwas mehr Zerre überreden konnte.

 The Catalinbread Belle Epoch Tape Echo, has tape echo sounds so authentic you’d swear there was tape inside the pedal! Inspired by the Maestro Echoplex, EP-3 model, perhaps the most famous tape delay ever, the Belle Epoch features everything we love about the EP-3 in a small, maintenance free pedal format. We felt that a “tape echo” pedal was much more than just a standard digital delay with some “filtering” on the repeats. There are a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle traits of the Echoplex that needed to be implemented in order to be authentic. The preamp, the self-oscillation character, the ability to control the “record level” of the signal hitting “tape”, the wow and flutter, the way the repeats decay, the way the circuit interfaces with the amp and other pedals – all these things were important to get right. The original unit was used as a musical instrument unto itself and this is what we captured with the Belle Epoch.

Einen Custom Shop gibt es also nicht nur für Gitarren wie zum Beispiel bei Fender oder Gibson, sondern auch für Effektpedale, wie wir hier sehen. Das dürfte auch damit zusammenhängen, dass das inzwischen ohnehin sehr große Angebot an Boutique-Geräten jeden Tag weiter wächst und Massenhersteller wie MXR sich etwas einfallen lassen müssen, um in diesem Marktsegment nicht ins Hintertreffen zu geraten.

Oft kopiert aber nie erreicht, rangiert das schwer zu findende, originale, Phase 90 bei den Sammlern alter Bodentreter ganz weit oben. Das Original - seit der Gründung der Firma Dunlop bis in die späten 70er Jahre erhältlich – definierte den klassischen Phase Shifter Sound und war in allen Musikstilen zu hören, egal ob Hard Rock, Jazz-Fusion oder Funk-Hits. Der nach dem Kultpedal der Firma designte Phaser kommt puritanisch mit einem Regler aus, über den der Phaser-Speed einstellbar ist. Eine rote LED über dem stabilen Fußschalter zeigt den Schaltstatus an. Das massive Spritzgußgehäuse verfügt über jeweils 1/4" Klinke In- und Out-Eingänge. Betrieben wird der Kulttreter mit einer 9V Batterie, die in einem leicht zugänglichen Batteriefach auf der Unterseite Platz findet. Es ist erhältlich in der ursprünglichen orangenen Farbe.

Dieser Effekt, der in den Achtzigern in einigen berühmten Gitarrenaufnahmen auftauchte, war damals für uns “normale” Musiker kaum erschwinglich. Aber diese Zeiten haben sich glücklicherweise geändert. Pitch-Effekte sind inzwischen im Effektangebot vieler Hersteller zu recht günstigen Kursen zu finden.

Kann man einen Klassiker verbessern? Nehmen wir an, in manchen Fällen ja. Das haben wir mit dem Demoiselle Chorus gemacht. Als wir über das Pedal nachdachten, wollten wir den satten Sound des alten Boss CE-2 mitbringen, aber noch einen Schritt weiter gehen. Nach vielen Tests war das Ergebnis ein warmer Refrain, der den 70er-Jahre-Touch, ein musikalisches und organisches Vibrato und die Möglichkeit bietet, spektakuläre Leslie-Sounds zu erzielen. Das alles in einem einzigen Pedal!

Das Geheimnis des Demoiselle Chorus liegt in der Klangamplitude, die von einer leichten Modulation ausgeht und eine viel höhere Effektgeschwindigkeit als beim alten CE-2 erreicht. Ein weiterer Unterschied ist der D/C/V-Regler (Dry/Chorus/Vibrato), der Ihnen die volle Kontrolle über den gewünschten Choranteil im Clean-Signal und umgekehrt ermöglicht.

When we thought about the pedal, we wanted to bring the rich sound of the old Boss CE-2, but go further. After many tests, the result was a warm chorus, which brings that 70s flavor, a musical and organic vibrato and the possibility of achieving spectacular Leslie sounds. All this in a single pedal!

The secret of the Demoiselle Chorus is in the sound amplitude, which goes from a light modulation and reaches an effect speed much higher than the old CE-2. Another difference is the D/C/V (Dry/Chorus/Vibrato) control, which allows you to have full control of the amount of chorus you want in the clean signal and vice versa.

Lisa Tap Delays kleiner Bruder. Es ist nicht nur eine reduzierte Version, es hat eine eigene Identität mit einzigartigen und unterschiedlichen Merkmalen und Funktionen! Mit Verzögerungszeiten von 40 ms bis 600 ms und mehreren Möglichkeiten zur Manipulation der Klangfarbe bei jeder Wiederholung. Es verfügt über Verstärkungs-, Rückkopplungs-, Filter-, Intensitäts- und Modulationsfrequenzsteuerung sowie über eine Multifunktionsaktivierung.

Genau wie beim Lisa nutzt die Delay-Schaltung des Lilo den CI PT2399 und mit ihm lassen sich klassische analoge Delay-Klangfarben mit CI Bucket-Brigade, tiefe Texturen ähnlich einem beschädigten Magnetband oder sogar absurde Klanglandschaften erzielen! Durch die Verwendung von Clean Signal Cut und wenn die Tempo- und Feedback-Regler auf Minimum eingestellt sind, stehen Ihnen Chorus-/Vibrato-Effekte mit Filter- und Gain-Steuerung zur Verfügung. Die Modulationsfrequenz hat einen weiten Bereich, der von einem sehr langsamen Vibrato bis hin zu Ringmodulatoren reicht.
