Expanding on its predecessor the PAE-1, the AXiom Power Amp Emulator PAE-2 was designed by intensively studying the electrical characteristics of power tubes, transformers and tube heads and reproducing their behaviors in a 100% analog stompbox.  To be clear, the PAE-2 is NOT an amplifier (it puts out about the same signal level as a loud overdrive or clean boost pedal).  It isn't an "overdrive" pedal (and it isn't voiced or meant to be used as one).  It isn't a digital modeler with cartoon-like exaggerations of what different tubes are "supposed" to sound like.  What it does is emulate the real characteristics of a tube head and make whatever you plug into it seem like it's plugged into a tube power amp.  Plug your overdrive pedals or preamp into the PAE-2 and plug the PAE-2 into your solid-state amp and voila:  your sterile, lifeless amp now has the compression headroom, touch-sensitivity, crunch and sag of a tube head.  Or, if you already have a tube amp, use the PAE-2 to give you that cranked tube feel at lower volumes or make your stiff, high-powered head more compressive and reactive.

Power Amp Emulator PAE-2

Meet the AXiom Classic Compressor CC-1.  It's a dual OTA-based feedback type compressor pedal that was developed specifically to bridge the gap between the organic response of the classic stompbox compressors and the precision and features of a studio compressor.  It reacts to your playing just like the best Dyna Comp/Ross/CS-2 pedals did, but has extended control ranges and independent true ATTACK, RELEASE, RATIO/BLEND, SENSITIVITY (threshold), INPUT, TONE and GAIN controls.  You can go from mild, transparent optical-like compression (with your tone and pick attack completely preserved) to all-out squash and sustain beyond what even the best of the classics could produce (thanks to its dual parallel compression engines).  It has an INPUT control that allows you to tailor the response to any pickup from low-output single coils to the hottest active humbuckers, a TONE control tuned to enhance or reduce pick attack and "air", a GAIN stage with enough output to push your amp or other pedals, and it has none of the "pumping" effect that feedback type compressors are prone to when they have their attack set high (which is why the attack is often set permanently fast internally in these type of compressors).

If you're a Uni-Vibe fan you've probably noticed you have a few basic options when it comes to vibe pedals:  True Uni-Vibe clones, phaser-based vibes, and digital modelers.  Modelers are dependent on the sophistication of their algorithms, which varies and is a matter of debate.  Phaser-based vibes, while generally cheap and convenient, don't produce the deep, pulsing throb that is the hallmark of a true Uni-Vibe and, in reality, still sound more like phasers than vibes.  And true clones which, while many capture the classic throb of a real Uni-Vibe, they all depend on a famously inconsistent and sometimes unreliable lamp and driver circuit, they can't run on a 9V battery and often require special power adapters, and typically give you control over only a few standard parameters - speed, intensity and volume.

Distortion Preamp DP-1

The AXiom Phase-Vibe PV-1 is designed to be that ultimate phaser effect.  It combines industry standard 4-stage phase shifting (as established by the MXR Phase 90, EHX Small Stone, Boss PH-1r, etc) with the smooth frequency sweep and low distortion of optical phasers.  It gives you extended control over the oscillation SPEED, DEPTH, RESonance (internal feedback level) and sweep CENTER frequency, and it features a MIX control that lets you dial in anything from a completely dry signal to a pure vibrato effect (that's the "vibe" part of the Phase-Vibe).  The PV-1 sweep speed can be adjusted from 75 milliseconds (i.e. faaasst) to 12.5 seconds (i.e. slooow) and can produce phasing from under 30 Hz (below low-B on a 6-string bass) to over 15 kHz (about as high as the human ear can detect phasing)... and, of course, all your favourite classic settings in between.  It also allows you to adjust the oscillation character gradually from square wave, through sinusoidal, to traditional phaser triangular modulation.  And the LEVEL control is purposefully designed to double as an input trim, so that even the hottest signals won't overload the circuitry (such as when placed in an amp's effects loop or after overdrive/distortion/gain pedals).  In short, the PV-1 was designed to be the most powerful, musical and versatile 100% analog phaser on the market.
