Description
The MI Audio Crunch Box is a high-gain distortion pedal designed to emulate the sound and feel of a cranked British "plexi" stack. Its circuit is a heavily modified variant of the Marshall Bluesbreaker, utilizing a high-gain op-amp architecture with LED clipping to achieve a rich, amp-like saturation. While the exterior features standard controls for Gain, Tone, and Volume, the pedal is notable for its internal presence trimmer which allows users to calibrate the high-end response to their specific amplifier. Since its 2006 debut, it has undergone several revisions to refine its volume taper and noise floor.
