Der Lightspeed Organic Overdrive ist ein Overdrive mit sehr natürlichem Klang. Warum „organisch“? Nun, einfach gesagt, es ist der klarste, natürlichste und beste Overdrive, den wir je gehört haben, für Spieler, die einen natürlichen Drive-Sound suchen. Dieses Pedal harmoniert mit dem Klang der Gitarre und des Verstärkers und hat satte Obertöne und komplexes, aber sanftes Clipping. Der Lightspeed Overdrive reagiert empfindlich auf den Anschlag des Plektrums und hat ein anderes „Gefühl“ als andere Overdrives. Der Lightspeed kann auf „transparent“ eingestellt werden, kann Ihr Signal aber auch bis an den Rand treiben.

The Lightspeed Organic Overdrive is a very natural sounding overdrive. Why "organic"?  Well, simply put, it's the clearest, most natural feeling, and best overdrive we've heard for the player looking for a natural drive tone.  Blending with the tone of the guitar and amplifier, this pedal has rich harmonics and complex but smooth clipping. The Lightspeed Overdrive is sensitive to pick attack and has a different "feel" than other overdrives. The Lightspeed can be set to be "transparent," but can also drive your signal to the edge.

Venus ist ein echter Röhren-Overdrive, inspiriert von einem der größten Meisterwerke des Pedal-Museums.  

Mit ultimativer Vielseitigkeit und Klangformung im Fokus haben wir es uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, eine klassische Röhren-Klangskulptur mit modernen Verfeinerungen nachzubilden – von einem sanften, leichten Röhren-Overdrive bis hin zu einem aggressiven High-Gain-Distortion im Fuzz-Bereich.  

Kompakte Größe, maximale Leistung  
Größe ist wichtig! Ohne Klangqualität zu opfern, haben wir unsere Schaltung in das kleinstmögliche Gehäuse gepackt: 12,6 x 6,6 x 5,7 cm (L x B x H). Anstelle eines internen Step-Down-Transformators haben wir Venus so konzipiert, dass es mit einem standardmäßigen 9V-DC-Netzteil betrieben wird – für minimale Hintergrundgeräusche und Brummen. Das Pedal kann mit dem mitgelieferten Netzteil oder jedem isolierten 9V-DC-Netzteil mit 500mA (Mitte negativ) betrieben werden. Ein speziell entwickelter interner Spannungswandler sorgt dann für die optimalen Betriebsbedingungen mit symmetrischen +/-15V DC.  

Röhrenwahl & Anpassung  
Das klassische Meisterwerk, das Venus inspiriert hat, wurde ursprünglich mit einer ECC83 (12AX7) Doppeltriode geliefert. Für einen sanfteren, saubereren Klang ersetzten viele Nutzer diese Röhre jedoch durch Varianten mit weniger Gain und höherem Headroom, wie die ECC81 (12AT7) oder ECC82 (12AU7). Deshalb haben wir uns für eine ECC832 als Standardröhre entschieden – eine ungewöhnliche Kombination, die eine Hälfte einer ECC83 und eine Hälfte einer ECC82 enthält. Dadurch bleibt der Charakter des Originals erhalten, jedoch mit mehr Klarheit, besserer Saitentrennung und einer breiteren Klangbühne.  

Alle gängigen Doppeltrioden wie ECC83/12AX7, 5751, ECC81/12AT7, 12AY7 oder ECC82/12AU7 können weiterhin eingesetzt werden, um unterschiedliche Klangnuancen zu erzielen. Mit dem Bias-Regler lässt sich der Röhren-Bias steuern, also der Stromfluss durch die Kathoden. Damit kann man den Sweet Spot für verschiedene Röhrentypen finden und gleichzeitig die Verzerrungstextur einstellen – von rau, aggressiv und "gated" (gegen den Uhrzeigersinn) bis hin zu weich und cremig (im Uhrzeigersinn). In der maximalen Rechtsdrehung bietet der Bias-Regler den saubersten Klang für die meisten Röhrentypen.  

Volle Klangkontrolle  
Ein 3-Band-Equalizer gibt dir absolute Kontrolle über das Frequenzspektrum. Mit dem Mittenregler kannst du gezielt zwischen den verschiedenen Klangcharakteristiken der ursprünglichen Einheit wechseln – besonders nützlich für Amps mit leicht abgesenkten Mitten.  

Zusätzlich haben wir einen Push-Schalter integriert, um die Tief- und Tiefmittenanhebung in den Röhren-Gain-Stufen zu steuern. So kannst du zwischen einem satten ("fat") oder straffen ("tight") Klang wählen.  

Ein schaltbarer Low-Output-Impedanz Line Driver (Buffer/Volume Booster) sorgt dafür, dass dein Signal verlustfrei an das nächste Pedal oder den Amp weitergeleitet wird, wobei alle Frequenzen erhalten bleiben. Venus arbeitet immer im True Bypass, unabhängig von der Einstellung des Push-Schalters. Der Line Driver wird nur dann aktiviert, wenn der Effekt eingeschaltet ist.

Venus is a real tube overdrive inspired by one of the greatest masterpieces of the pedal museum.

With ultimate versatility and tone shaping in mind, we set out to recreate a classic tube tone sculpture with modern refinements, generating anything from a smooth, light tube overdrive, to a high-gain, nasty distortion within the realm of fuzz. 

First of all, size matters! Without sacrificing tone, we squeezed our circuit into the smallest possible enclosure, measuring 12.6 x 6.6 x 5.7 cm (L x W x H).  Instead of an internal step-down power transformer, we designed Venus to operate from a standard 9V DC power supply to minimize background noise and hum. The user can operate the pedal from the included power supply or any isolated 9V DC, center-negative power supply output with 500mA current capability. Then a properly designed internal voltage booster/inverter circuit provides the correct voltage conditions (symmetrical +/- 15V DC).

While the classic masterpiece that inspired Venus originally shipped with an ECC83 (12AX7) dual triode tube, users looking for a smoother, cleaner sound replaced the tube with a lower gain/higher headroom variant like ECC81 (12AT7) or ECC82 (12AU7). With that in mind, we selected an ECC832 tube as stock for Venus. This kind of oddball tube features half of an ECC83 and half of an ECC82. The tone is as close as possible to the original “tube sculpture” but with more clarity, string separation and a wider soundstage.

You can still substitute with all the "usual suspects" of dual triode tube types like ECC83/12AX7, 5751, ECC81/12AT7, 12AY7, ECC82/12AU7 for a different sonic flavor. Use the bias knob to set the tube bias/control the current passing through the tube cathodes. By adjusting this knob, you can find the sweet spot for different tube types used and/or set the texture of the overdrive / distortion: from gnarly, nasty and gated (counter-clockwise) to smooth and creamy (clockwise). The full clockwise setting of the bias knob has the cleanest sound for most tube types used.

A full 3-band EQ gives you total control over frequency response. With the mid control, you can sweep through the sounds of all the variants of the unit that inspired Venus and also comes in especially handy if you are using slightly mid-scooped clean amps. To sculpt the tone further and match the pedal to different guitars and/or pickups, we have also added a push switch to set the amount of low and low-mid frequencies boost that hits the tube gain stages between the stock fat or tight sound (when pushed in). A switchable low-output-impedance line driver (buffer/volume booster) ensures that your signal gets properly pushed through to the next pedal or your amp, and all your audio frequencies are retained. The bypass state of Venus is always true bypass regardless of this push button switch setting. The selectable line driver is only placed at the output of the effect when engaged.

Das Electro Harmonix Oceans 12 ist ein Stereo-Reverb-Pedal, das, wie der Name schon erahnen lässt, mit gleich 12 verschiedenen Reverb-Modi den Spieler beglücken möchte. Damit hat das Oceans 12 im Gegensatz zum seinem ebenfalls von uns getesteten Vorgänger, dem Oceans 11, noch einen Algorithmus mehr an Bord. Viel entscheidender ist aber die Möglichkeit, gleich zwei Reverbs parallel oder in Serie zu schalten, und das in Stereo.

The EHX Oceans 12 is the Oceans 11’s big brother with even more reverbs and functionality. It features two simultaneous, independent, stereo reverb engines, series and parallel control for the dual reverbs, 24 presets and advanced I/O allowing for stereo in/out or mono send/return with pre and post reverb options. The pedal also includes a new Tide Control for stereo image alteration, a Lo-fi Control, an infinite attenuation control and an input jack for external expression and 3-button footswitch control.

A Tails switch provides a choice of whether the reverb effect fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is switched to bypass. In most settings the pedal is also capable of producing infinite reverb which can be played over with a different reverb effect.

The Oceans 12’s reverbs are:
• ROOM – two modes: reverb algorithms modeled after a lively room and a spacious performance hall
• SPRING – two modes: vintage 1962 Fender® 6G15 tube reverb emulation and the spring algorithm from the EHX Holy Grail
• PLATE – two modes: two emulations of the smooth, metal plate reverb often used in high-end recording studios during the 1960s and ‘70s
• REVERSE – two modes: a reverse reverb effect as well as true reversed echoes
• ECHO – three modes: a digital delay with various echo rhythms feeding into a plate reverb
• TREM – three modes: a classic, periodic volume envelope with various shapes applied to both the wet and dry mix of a hall reverb
• MOD – three modes: combinations of chorus and flange reverbs that create rich reverb tails
• DYNA – three dynamic, experimental reverb algorithms: swell, gate and duck
• AUTO-INF – three modes: auto-infinite reverb (w/optional chorus or flange) that “listens” to your playing and crossfades to a new reverb wash upon detection of newly struck notes.
• SHIMMER – two modes: two configurations of a rich octave-shifted reverb wash
• POLYPHONIC – two modes: two configurable bi-directional pitch shifts that add dimensionality to the reverb tail
• RESONANT – two modes: reverb excited by tunable resonators and configurable self-oscillating filters on the reverb tail

The Sea Machine V3 is an exceptional chorus pedal in many respects. This analog/digital chorus hybrid features six control knobs (Shape, Rate, Depth, Intensity, Dimension and Animate), extended delay time (compared to regular chorus effect pedals), a speed LED, analog dry path signal and True Bypass. The Sea Machine V3 delivers both traditional and unconventional chorus effects and works very well with distorted electric guitars. The additional Dimension and Animate controls massively enhance the sound palette of this made in Ohio, USA pedal. The Sea Machine V3 uses silent relay-based soft touch switching. Audio will not pass without power.

Analoger Bucket Brigade Flanger in vollem Stereo. Nutzt 4 MN3009 Bucket Brigade IC chips für satte Flange-Sounds mit ausreichen Headroom. Er verfügt über einen bidirektionalen Feedback-Regler und einen Sweep-Regler, der die Verzögerungszeit auf einer Seite des Stereofeldes erhöht, während er die Verzögerungszeit auf der anderen Seite verkürzt. Der Dimension-Schalter überkreuzt die beiden Kanäle miteinander und erzeugt so einen Doppel-Flanger-Effekt, bei dem zwei Delay-Linien in entgegengesetzte Richtungen moduliert werden, auch im Mono-Einsatz.

All-analog, full-stereo modulation effects pedal that uses a quartet of genuine MN3009 Bucket Brigade IC chips to deliver a rich Flanger effectwith high headroom. It features a bi-directional Feedback control and a Sweep control that increases the delay time on one side of the stereo field while shortening the delay time on the other side. The Dimension switch crossfeeds the two channels into one another, creating the entrancing double-flanger effect of two delay lines being modulated in opposite directions, even when used in mono.

Geblieben sind das große Frequenzspektrum von 31,25 Hz bis 16 kHz, getrennte In- und Output-Levels sowie der Betrieb mit 18 Volt für mehr Headroom.
Da der MXR Ten Band EQ auch Frequenzbereiche unterstützt, die von einem Gitarrenlautsprecher eigentlich nicht mehr übertragen werden, empfiehlt er sich ebenso für den Betrieb am E-Bass, für Fullrange-Anwendungen oder fürs Direct-Recording. Nicht wenige Gitarristen schätzen den grafischen Equalizer
