Das Electro-Harmonix Sovtek Deluxe Big Muff Pi ist ein umfassendes Fuzz-/Distortion-Pedal, das die charakteristischen Klänge der "Civil War"- und "Tall Font" Green Russian Big Muffs mit fortschrittlichen klangformenden Funktionen kombiniert. Die Schaltung bewahrt das gewaltige Bassfundament und die klaren Höhen der alten Sovtek-Geräte und fügt eine fußschaltbare parametrische Mitten-EQ-Sektion mit einstellbarer Frequenz und Q-Bandbreite hinzu. Ein integriertes Noise Gate mit einstellbarem Schwellenwert hilft dabei, das Rauschen bei hoher Verstärkung zu kontrollieren, und ein Blend-Regler ermöglicht das Mischen des Direktsignals mit dem Fuzz, was besonders für Bassisten von Vorteil ist. The Electro-Harmonix Sovtek Deluxe Big Muff Pi is an expansive fuzz/distortion pedal that integrates the signature tones of the "Civil War" and "Tall Font" Green Russian Big Muffs with advanced sound-shaping features. The circuit maintains the devastating low end and crisp highs of the vintage Sovtek units while adding a foot-switchable parametric Mids EQ section with adjustable frequency and Q bandwidth. A built-in noise gate with an adjustable threshold helps manage high-gain hiss, and a Blend knob allows for mixing the dry signal with the fuzz, which is especially beneficial for bass players. The pedal also features a "Wicker" switch to enhance high-frequency attack and an expression pedal input for real-time frequency sweeps. This combination of classic analog grit and modern utility makes it one of the most versatile iterations of the Big Muff design.

Updated for 2023! We have gone back to the drawing board with the Wildwood Mjolnir to get it even closer to Zach’s personal Klon Centaur. When the Wildwood Mjolnir was released it was our attempt to make the best “Klone” possible and after getting a real unit we learned so much sonically that we revised the design to closer emulate the tones that were in that fabled silver box. Flash forward to the 2023, we re-evaluated the sonic differences between our Mjolnir and the original unit and decided we could get them even closer sonically and improve production woes.

The Type One is a stereo analogue chorus ensemble effect.  It is loosely modelled around the DNA of the true sultan of chorus, the Boss CE-1 from the mid-1970s.  Both use a very unique LFO waveform unlike any other chorus or vibrato pedal.  Like the CE-1, the sound quality is ethereal and encompassing, especially when listened to in stereo.  It also does that John Frusciante thing.

The Type One has been finely tuned to give maximum clean headroom, so even a strummed bass, a synth, or a humbuckered guitar won't hit the stops.  Likewise, if you are a low frequency warrior, the Type One won’t rob you of Lo Hz.  The Type One features a very low quiescent noise floor, so it is as equally at home in a studio as in front of a cranked amp on a festival stage.

The signal path is not 100% accurate here because e.g. the KMA Geminus has stereo in- and outputs wich the Board Configurator treats as mono, but you´ll get the idea.

Only the MXR M300 and the Earthquaker Plumes are still missing.

As a final finish I will solder every audio cable in perfect lenght and make it more organized.

PS: Usually I don´t have the two amps stacked as you see in the photo to achieve a true stereo wideness. I just stacked them for a picture. I will buy 2 more 412 cabinets to have 2 fullstacks. Not because it´s necessary, but because it´s fucking sick.

EarthQuaker verzichtet auf den bewährten JRC4558 OpAmp und die BJT Buffer und ersetzt sie in der Schaltung durch Low Noise JFET OpAmps für einen präziseren Sound mit deutlich geringerem Grundrauschen. Mit 10 Megaohm Eingangsimpedanz bietet das Pedal einen wunderbar klaren, detaillierten Sound. Der Arbeitsbereich des Tone-Reglers wurde ebenfalls angepasst um mit einem satteren Low End ein breiteres Spektrum an möglichen Sounds zu bieten. 

Zusätzlich bietet der Plumes drei wählbare Clipping-Modi um den Sound des Pedals an möglichst viele Stilrichtungen und unterschiedlichstes Equipment anpassen zu können. Mode 1 bietet symmetrisches Clipping, basierend auf einem Paar LEDs. Das Setting bietet den sattesten Crunch und den klassischen Sound eines übersteuerten Röhrenverstärkers. Mode 2 ist ein Clean Boost ohne Soft Clipping, perfekt um den Clean Sound im Mix nach vorne zu bringen oder den Preamp eines Verstärkers in die Sättigung zu fahren. Mode 3 nutzt asymmetrisches Clipping mit Silizium Dioden und klingt am ehesten nach einem originalen Screamer. Im direkten Vergleich liefert das Setting aber mehr Output und klarere Clean Sounds.

Darüber hinaus verfügt der Plumes auch über EarthQuaker Devices 'Soft Touch' Flexi-Switch-Funktion, mit der du im Handumdrehen zwischen Momentary Modus und traditionellem Latching wählen kannst.

The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes is based on the legendary green overdrive pedal, which has been the industry standard for decades. In combination with a good tube amp, the Plumes creates a warm, transparent saturation. EarthQuaker Devices relinquishes the trusted JRC4558 OpAmp and BJT Buffers and replaces them with low noise JFET OpAmps for a more robust and precise signal with a significantly lower noise floor. With 10 megohms of input impedance, the pedal provides a stronger signal with more clarity and chime. EarthQuaker Devices adjusted the cutoff of the tone control to deliver a more useful range of travel with more booming bass on the low end without sacrificing the cutting midrange and bright top end.

In addition, the Plumes offers three selectable clipping modes to ensure that it will work with a wide variety of gear and playing styles. Mode 1 is symmetrical clipping based on a pair of LEDs. This is the crunchiest setting the Plumes has to offer. When played through a clean amp, it will deliver that classic crunchy valve amp tone. Mode 2 is a clean boost without soft clipping and with straight OpAmp drive, perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front or driving the preamp of an already overdriven amp into breakup saturation. Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement like an original screamer but with more output and clean clarity.
