Ok, so you have eight effects pedals which you use regularly. You use various combinations of these pedals in various songs, but you are not good at tap dancing…or you are just clumsy and have (once or twice) stepped on the ultra tricked out-metalized-distortion pedal for the lead in your one ABBA cover. You have seen the digital effects controllers they use on the big stages, and have secretly yearned for one… even though you may never make the big stage. Enter Thomas Guldmann’s Octa-switch MK3. Your eight effects plug into the eight effects-loops on the back of this unit (all true-bypass, impedance free, gold relays so you can run any of your pedals, new and old without problem), and then by turning on or off the numbered switches in each of eight DIP Bank switches, you determine which effects you wish to use simultaneously in each Bank. There is a blue LED for every effects loop used and for each Bank (so once you are programmed, when you step on Bank 6 you will see the lights of all the effects you have assigned to Bank 6 and the Bank 6 LED). The Octa-switch MK3 has incorporated a couple new features as well! The ninth switch on the left side of the case is a BYPASS Switch….this allows you to completely bypass all eight pedals and enjoy only the unaffected sound of your amplifier. There are also two External Switching jacks which allow you to use two amplifiers and/or switch channels on those amps. Once you have all the Banks programmed, we recommend placing a piece of scotch or electrical tape over each DIP (….just to protect the switch from accidental switching, damage or floods….like beer). There is a buffered (or not….switchable) Mono input and a stereo Output, and the unit is powered by dual 9v batteries, or by a regulated power supply…like the PowerJack or the Pro Power (both by Carl Martin).

So what is this crazy pedal? Well, at first glance it looks like many other Carl Martin pedals…there is a High Gain channel which has loads of bottom end and nice crisp highs, a very dynamic Crunch channel which emphasises the mids with very little compression, and of course that famous 12db Boost channel that we are all so familiar with.

The EF-P2 features a three-spring reverb tank, adjustable Spring Drive, Bass / Treble EQ controls, and Reverb Volume control. CIOKS 4 Expander is the perfect companion to CIOKS DC7 in case you would like four additional outlets with four selectable voltages on each tap (9, 12, 15 and 18V DC) which can each deliver 660mA at 9V DC. Simply connect CIOKS 4 Expander to your CIOKS DC7 via the courtesy 24V outlet and you are good to go.

But that is definitely not all – what makes CIOKS 4 Expander truly unique is the fact that you can power it with anything from 9V to 24V DC or 9V to 12V AC via the non-polarized DC socket input. Furthermore CIOKS 4 can even be powered by connecting it to a USB powerbank via its 5V USB C input or by using a tablet or laptop power supply with a USB C plug. Das Fulltone Clyde Wah-Wah Pedal entstand nach eingehender Analyse von Michaels Fullers 25 Stück umfassender Sammlung alter VOX-Pedale. Da ihm die alten VOX-Teile nicht genug Regelweg hatten, entwickelte er sein eigenes, seinen Vorstellungen entsprechendes Pedalgehäuse. Auf der handverdrahteten Platine des Clyde Deluxe findet man denn auch erlesene Bauteile wie z. B. Kohleschicht-Widerstände, NOS(New old Stock)Tropical Fish 0,22 Kondensatoren, GE (General Electric) 0,1 Kondensatoren sowie natürlich eine speziell nach Fulltone-Vorgaben gefertigte Spule. Durch die s. g. Resonance Control, ein Trimpoti auf der Platine, läßt sich die Bass-Wiedergabe nach persönlichem Geschmack regeln. Das ebenfalls speziell für Fulltone angefertigte Tone Poti verfügt über die gleiche Kennline, welche man bei den Icar Potis der 60er Jahre VOX-Ära findet.

The Fulltone Clyde wah-wah pedal was created after analysing Michael Fuller's collection of 25 old VOX pedals. Since the old VOX parts didn't have enough control travel, he developed his own pedal housing according to his ideas. The hand-wired circuit board of the Clyde Deluxe features exquisite components such as carbon film resistors, NOS (New Old Stock) Tropical Fish 0.22 capacitors, GE (General Electric) 0.1 capacitors and, of course, a coil specially manufactured according to Fulltone specifications. The so-called Resonance Control, a trimpot on the circuit board, allows the bass response to be adjusted to personal taste. The tone pot, also specially made for Fulltone, has the same characteristic curve as the Icar pots of the 60s VOX era.

Der amerikanische Effektpedal-Hersteller Xotic ist bekannt für seine gut klingenden Overdrive-Pedale. Auf der NAMM 2019 in Anaheim zeigte er zwei interessante Neuheiten, die das Portfolio zukünftig ergänzen werden: den Xotic Super Sweet Booster und den Xotic Super Clean Buffer.

The Xotic Super Clean buffer landed on my board in an attempt to fight a major tone loss issue caused by my GigRig QuarterMaster loop switcher (check out my QuarterMaster review to learn more). Since I discovered that tone issue with the switcher, I started looking for possible simple cures that can bring sanity back to my board. I was really trying to avoid getting into replacing my QuarterMaster, simply because I had a really tough year, full of gear issues, technicians and technical support and I just got tired of it. I ended up getting an Xotic Super Clean and I'm very happy with it so far. My clean tone has never been so good through any pedal board before, with or without the switcher.

Super Clean

It's a much, much smaller than the ST-1 at only 3.9" wide x 4" deep, and more intelligent version of the epic Supa-Trem1. Sporting True-Bypass,Tap-Tempo, external Tap jack, Half/Double hold feature, up to 15dB boost, true Square, Sine, and the natural heartbeat-like Warble wave-forms! It also can do speeds so slow that a full cycle takes around 10 seconds, and fast speeds beyond 220bpm. The heart of the ST-1 is still there, the warm Analog Devices JFET preamp. And this pedal is so small it will fit in your pocket, and with its top-mounted jacks, will fit in any little spot on your board. Don't forget, just like the ST-1, the Jr also works as an incredible clean boost with the Mix control turned down!

Fusion, a relatively new genre blending jazz and rock, particularly the technical "shredder" style from the 80s, has Tom Quayle as one of its leading figures. After collaborating with Wampler Pedals in 2012, they developed the Dual Fusion pedal. The Dual Fusion has become a versatile tool for modern fusion guitarists and appeals to players of all genres.

Housed in a beautiful powder coated Blue 16ga. steel enclosure, the dual-channel Full-Drive 2 Mosfet gives you the best of both worlds. The first channel is the Overdrive Mode, capable of clean boost or non-compressed overdrive or choose light to medium softer overdrives all while retaining your guitar's original tone. The Tone knob is a very effective presence control that can smooth out or add upper harmonics. The second channel is the "Boost Mode" with its own separate distortion control for medium to higher gains with a more singing violin-like sustain!

One mini-toggle lets you choose between a "Vintage" FD2 sound with mid-heavy tones that cut through the mix and "FM (flat-mids)" for a more natural, transparent sound that works awesome with a Strat's neck pickup.
The other mini-toggle lets you choose between Mosfet and Normal clipping modes. Normal mode is even more asymmetrical, sweeter and more open, with no "blanket" over the sound.

Full-Drive 2 Mosfet

The Fulltone Fat-boost V1 is a discrete FET clean boost pedal known for adding warmth, fullness, and a slight midrange bump to your guitar tone without significantly altering its character.

The OCD pedal is the only pedal that uses 2 x Mosfets configured as hard-clipping to 'Voltage reference" instead of the usual way: to ground." The earliest OCDs used 2 x Mosfets plus 1 x Germanium diode, but very quickly these diodes became harder and harder to find, and they became expensive.

Recently I stumbled across a reasonably large stash of the right kind of Germanium diodes so I ponied-up and bought all of them. So I decided to do a run of the ultimate OCD: a Custom Shop offering with a few circuit tweaks using 2 x Mosfets plus 2 x Germanium diodes, and one hell of a beautiful paint job... Metallic Teal with a chrome undercoat! This beauty morphs between blues and greens depending on the light and angle. And what would the ultimate OCD be without a Blue LED? The sound? Great definition, more tube-like feel, a bit wider dynamic range, more sustain, and a more focused single-note tone. And as with all Fulltone pedals... 100% Built in the USA.
