Unser Testmodell, das FS22 Ekoverb-Pedal, ist mit einem Preis von 98 Euro im Portfolio der Marke schon eher in der Oberklasse angesiedelt. Der Zwitter aus Hall und Echo kann dafür auch mit drei unterschiedlichen Delay/Reverb-Algorithmen und insgesamt acht einstellbaren Parametern aufwarten. Darüber hinaus sind Tap-Tempo und eine Freeze-Funktion an Bord. Klingt schon mal nicht schlecht, aber ob es auch tatsächlich klingt, erfahrt ihr in diesem Test.

The Flamma Ekoverb features three combinations of delay and reverb effects that consist of a Reverse Delay/Swell Reverb setting, Analog Echo Delay/Mod Reverb, and a classic Analog Delay/Shimmer Reverb combination. Der EP-PRE ist ein JFET-Vorverstärker, der auf dem Vorverstärkerabschnitt der Echoplex® EP-3®-Bandechoeinheit basiert. Er liefert ein paar dB Verstärkung, aber ich betrachte das nicht als Verstärkung.

Wörter wie „Verbessern“, „Fettgeben“ und „Anreichern“ beschreiben alle die Wirkung, die der EP-PRE auf Ihren Ton hat, aber ich habe noch kein Wort gefunden, das die Magie dieser erstaunlichen kleinen Schaltung wirklich beschreibt. Ein Freund, der einen der Prototypen besitzt, nennt ihn einen „Klangpolierer“.

The EP-PRE is a JFET preamplifier that is based on the preamp section of the Echoplex® EP-3® tape echo unit. It will deliver a few db of boost, but I don't consider it as a boost.

Words such as Enhance, Fatten and Enrich all cover the effect that the EP-PRE has on your tone, but I have yet to find a word that really captures the magic of this amazing little circuit. A friend who has one of the prototypes calls it a “Tone Polisher”.

Edward Van Halen's Gitarrensound auf dem Debüt Album von1978 katapultierte ihn schlagartig in dem Olymp des Rock und selbst nach mehr als 25 Jahren hat die Gitarrenarbeit auf diesem Album nichts von ihrer Faszination eingebüßt. Den unglaublichen Sound, den EVH auf dieser Platte kreierte, gehört zu den absoluten Meilensteinen des Rock und ein wichtiger Bestandteil dieses Sounds war von vornherein der MXR Phase 90. Der Phase 90 trug maßgeblich zu den zeitlosen Gitarrensounds von “Eruption,“ “Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love,“ “On Fire,“ und “Atomic Punk“, sowie vieler anderer klassischer Van Halen Stücke bei. Entstanden aus einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Eddie Van Halen und Jim Dunlop ist der EVH 90 eine komplett neu designte Version des legendären Phase 90. Der EVH 90 zeigt genau die gleichen räumlichen Klangverwirbelungen und hypnotischen Phasenverschiebungen, die den Phase 90 so berühmt machten. Als neues Feature besitzt der EVH 90 den Script-Schalter, der es ermöglicht, zwischen dem Vintage 'Script Logo' und dem moderneren, aggressiveren 'Block Logo' Phasersound zu wählen. Die JHS Pedals Active A/B/Y ist ein Utility-Pedal, um ein Signal an zwei Ausgänge oder an beide gleichzeitig zu senden. The JHS Pedals Active A/B/Y is a utility pedal for sending one signal to two outputs, or both simultaneously. It features a high impedance buffered input and isolated outputs with FET transistors for completely silent switching. The pedal's A channel has a polarity reversal switch to prevent signal cancellation. An output transformer on one of the outputs eliminates hum, removing the need for a ground lift.
