The RockBoard® MODs provide a central access point from your instrument to your amp, as well as your power supply via IEC, and a 2.1 x 5.5 barrel thru power connector. The RockBoard® MOD 3 V2 is a pass-thru box designed for use by vocalists and acoustic players. The 2x XLR outputs allow you to send a stereo signal from your MOD and the 1x XLR input can be used to connect your microphone. Der DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 (2013) bietet, wie seine Vorgänger, einen Gain- und Level-Regler. Mit Gain wird der Verzerrungsgrad bestimmt. Dieser reicht von leicht angezerrt bis kräftig verzerrt. Mit dem Level-Regler kann dem Klang mehr Substanz hinzugefügt werden, sodass das Pedal auch durchgängig angeschalten bleiben kann - oder weiter aufgedreht einen kräftigen Boost liefert, mit dem sich Soli selbst im dichtesten Soundmix durchsetzen. Die True-Bypass-Schaltung sorgt dafür, dass der Gitarrensound auch bei ausgeschaltetem Pedal klar bleibt. Dies ist ein großer Unterschied vom Original, welches den Klang des Instruments auch im ausgeschalteten Zustand färbte. Dank dem 9V-Eingang ist das Pedal nun auch noch Pedalboard-freundlicher.

The classic returns, first conceived by David Oreste Defrancesco (DOD’s namesake) in the ’70’s as a way to get distortion and boost without any of the downsides that came with some of the fuzzes of the era. Beim DSM & Humboldt Simplifier DLX handelt es sich um eine extrem erweiterte Version des kleinen Simplifiers, der hier bereits Gegenstand eines Tests war. Eine der Besonderheiten an den Geräten der Simplifier-Reihe, die auch gerne Zero Watt Amplifier genannt werden, ist die Zielgruppe, die der chilenische Hersteller ins Auge gefasst hat. Es sind Gitarristen, die mit kleinem Gepäck zum Gig kommen, auf analoge Signalwege setzen und für die deshalb digitale Modeler bzw. Cabinet-Simulationen keine Option sind.

Pedalboard amps seem to be all the rage lately. And I have to admit that I've become increasingly more amicable to getting big tones with less gear. The DSM & Humboldt Simplifier DLX, which delivers a lot of big tones in a single suited-for-pedalboard sized stomp, is the latest iteration of the company's "zero-watt" amp series and features plenty of bells and whistles for the stereo set.

Mit der dreistufigen Klangregelung können Sie Ihren Sound so anpassen, dass er in jede Tasche passt, egal wie groß oder klein sie ist.

Zu den Bedienelementen des Pico POG gehören dedizierte Lautstärkeregler für die Stimmen „SUB OCTAVE“, „OCTAVE UP“ und „DRY“. Diese drei Regler fungieren als Mixer für unendlich viele mögliche Stimmenmischungen. Der TONE-Regler verfügt über drei Modi, die über die FILTER-Taste gesteuert werden. Im Tonmodus fungiert der Regler als Tilt-EQ mit flachem Frequenzgang in der Mitte, mehr Höhen und weniger Bässen beim Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn und weniger Höhen und mehr Bässen beim Drehen gegen den Uhrzeigersinn. In diesem Modus wird der EQ auf alle drei Stimmen angewendet. Im Tiefpassfiltermodus schneidet der Regler die Höhen in den Sub- und Octave-Up-Stimmen ab, während der Hochpassfiltermodus die Tiefen in den Sub- und Octave-Up-Stimmen abschneidet.

Controls on the Pico POG include dedicated volumes knobs for the SUB OCTAVE, OCTAVE UP, and DRY voices. These three controls act as a mixer for infinite possible voice mixes. The TONE knob features three modes controlled by the FILTER button. In Tone Mode, the knob acts as a tilt-EQ with a flat frequency response in the center, more treble and less bass as you turn the knob clockwise, and less treble and more bass as you turn the knob counterclockwise. In this mode, the EQ is applied to all 3 voices. In Low Pass Filter mode, the knob cuts highs in the Sub and Octave Up voices, while High Pass Filter mode cuts lows in the Sub and Octave Up Voices.

Das Digitech Freqout Natural Feedback Creator Effektpedal gehört zu den eher exotischen Vertretern im Pedalboard. Es widmet sich der Erzeugung von Rückkopplungen, die zwar zum Repertoire jedes gepflegten (Rock-) Gitarristen gehören, aber üblicherweise nur mit entsprechender Lautstärke und der Interaktion zwischen Amp, Box und Gitarre möglich sind. Mit dem E-Bow, der seit Mitte der 70er Jahre erhältlich ist, gibt es bereits ein Werkzeug, das die Saiten per Magnetfeld beliebig lang in Schwingung versetzt, indem es über die gewünschte Saite gehalten wird. Oder den Sustainer von Fernandes, ein Pickup, der ebenfalls die Saiten zum Schwingen bringt, wenn er per Schalter dazu aufgefordert wird. Und natürlich muss beim Umbau der Gitarre einer der vorhandenen Tonabnehmer dem Sustainer weichen.

Triple Threat starts with a wide-range high gain distortion, with volume, gain, and tone controls to create a threatening rock sound. A classic phaser upgraded from the Pearl Tremor pedal by Donner is next with extended mod controls. Third in line is an analog voiced echo, originated from Donner’s first ever pedal, the Yellow Fall Delay released in 2013,  with warm analog tone and rich feedback. 

With upgraded circuit design and tuning the tone to Jack’s specifications, Donner combined three analog circuits into one metal enclosure, delivering unique analog sounds and versatile utility for musicians on the go. Third Man Hardware designed the external appearance of The Triple Threat, adding its signature patterns such as lightning bolts from the Tesla tower on the panel, three sharp stripes in front and  the signature diagrams from Third Man Hardware’s logo on both sides of the pedal.
