Der Lightkeeper ist ein Vollröhren-Vorverstärker, der auf dem Clean-Kanal des „High Plate“-Designs des Dumble Overdrive Special basiert.
Bei diesem Vorverstärker dreht sich alles um helle Klarheit und Artikulation. Er hat einen Vintage-Fender-Charakter, bietet aber dank des von Dumble verfeinerten Tonreglers – der eine klassische Fender-Schaltung auf die nächste Stufe hebt – straffere Bässe und ausgeprägtere Mitten.

Der Lightkeeper eignet sich hervorragend als Pedal-Plattform und verleiht jedem Setup ohne Verstärker das typische „Röhren-Feeling“. Er ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für alle, die ihn direkt an eine Endstufe oder einen FX-Return anschließen. Der Anschluss des Lightkeepers an den Eingang des Verstärkers ist ebenfalls möglich, das Ergebnis hängt jedoch maßgeblich vom internen Vorverstärker Ihres Verstärkers ab.

Die dreistufigen Kippschalter „Deep“ und „Boost“ bieten einen großen Spielraum für die Klangoptimierung. In der Mittelstellung können sie auch über den integrierten oder einen externen Fußschalter gesteuert werden.

Der Lightkeeper wird mit einer Standardspannung von 12 V Gleichstrom betrieben, die im Inneren des Pedals auf 280 V Gleichstrom erhöht wird, um eine optimale Leistung der 12AX7-Röhre zu gewährleisten.

The Lightkeeper is an all-tube preamp based on the clean channel of the Dumble Overdrive Special "High Plate" design. 
This preamp is all about bright clarity and articulation. It's got a vintage Fender vibe but with tighter bass and more prominent mids, thanks to the Dumble-refined tone stack, which takes a classic Fender circuit to the next level.

The Lightkeeper makes a great pedal platform and delivers the ‘tube feel’ to any ampless setup. It is an excellent choice for those running it directly to a power amp or fx-return. Connecting the Lightkeeper to the front of the amp is also an option, but the result will significantly depend on the internal preamp of your amplifier.

The three-way Deep and Boost toggle switches offer a wide range of tone tweaking. When set in the middle position, they can also be controlled by the on-board or external footswitch.

The Lightkeeper operates on a standard 12VDC voltage, which is boosted inside the pedal up to 280VDC for optimal performance of the 12AX7 tube.

The Eggnog is a single-channel tube overdrive and preamp pedal going back to the small, yellow-patterned combination amplifiers made in Fullerton in the 1950s. Based around a 12AX7 tube running at high voltage (250VDC) to accurately capture the feel and breakup characteristics of a low-powered Tweed, the overtly-American preamp circuitry can transform any clean amplifier into a raspy box of vintage Fendery goodness.
The tube is pushed by an always-on MOSFET gain stage, giving your guitar a helping hand in nudging it towards the spongy, saggy, character we know and love in those old amps once they’re breaking a sweat. But if you’re in the mood for a little extra juice, stepping on the second footswitch activates the Boost level knob, giving you control over how hard the tube is being pushed.
If you’re a fan of the Southern blues-rock of ZZ Top; the boxy, honky breakup of Joe Walsh in his prime; Keef’s raunchy rock & roll; the screaming lead tones of Mr. Bonamassa; or (at the extremes) the “excitable” low-end of Neil Young…the Eggnog will deliver those syrupy, original American tones in spades.

There’s ample level and brightness to drive a power amp directly or feed your IR cab
sim. But to run it straight into an amp’s front end, simply flip the toggle underneath the output jack to restrain the beast and make it play nicely with your existing preamp.
