Mit dem JHS Pedals Summing Amp habst du die Möglichkeit, zwei Eingangssignale in einem Ausgangssignal zu mischen. Dies ist ideal, um Effekte parallel zu betreiben, so dass sie nicht voneinander beeinflusst werden. The Edge verwendete diese Technik beispielsweise in den 80er Jahren mit seinen Delays. Wenn du ein Viertel-Delay und ein Punktierte-Achtel Delay hast und beide gleichzeitig benutzen möchtest, kannst du sie mit dem Summing Amp zusammen führen und die Delays des einen Pedals werden nicht weiter vom anderen verzögert. Er kann auch mit Overdrives verwendet werden damit sich diese nicht gegenseitig pushen. Eine weitere Möglichkeit besteht darin, Fuzz und Kompressor parallel zu kombinieren, damit das Fuzz nicht durch die Kompression zerdrückt wird. Mit dem Summing Amp hast du die Möglichkeit, Effekte auf völlig neue Art und Weise zusammen zu nutzen, die du dir vielleicht nie vorgestellt hast. Und der JHS Summing Amp eröffnet dir mit deinen alten Effekten völlig neue und inspirierende Klänge.

The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". This can also be used with overdrives so that they are not pushing each other as in series, but sit atop one another in parallel. Another use is combining fuzz and compression in parallel so the fuzz isn't getting choked by the compression. The Summing Amp gives you the ability to use effects together in completely new ways that you may never have imagined and can open up new and inspiring sounds with your old effects.

Die japanische Firma Zoom ist ja allseits bekannt durch ihre zumeist sehr günstig angebotenen Effektprozessoren. Begonnen hatte alles vor gut 20 Jahren, als die damals noch junge Company mit ihren miniaturisierten Geräten, wie etwa dem Modell 9002, die Fachwelt in Staunen versetzte. Eine komplette Gitarrenvorstufe mit allen erdenklichen Effekten in der Größe einer Jumbo Zigarettenschachtel – so etwas hatte es bis dato noch nicht gegeben. Doch im Kapitalismus schläft ja die Konkurrenz bekanntlich nie und so standen die Geräte von Zoom stets mehr oder weniger im Schatten der marktbeherrschenden Firmen, allen voran natürlich BOSS oder DigiTech. Zumindest im Pro-Sektor, denn unter den „einfachen Bodentretminen“ für günstiges Geld findet man zumeist etwas Passendes im Angebot bei Zoom. Eine Art „einfache Bodentretmine“ ist auch unser heutiges Testmodell, das Zoom Multistomp MS-50G. Obwohl das vielleicht nicht ganz der Wahrheit entspricht, denn in dem unscheinbaren Gehäuse in Form und Aussehen eines einfachen Single-Effektpedals versteckt sich durchaus mehr. Der legendäre analoge DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 ist zurück, der auf eine über 40 jährige Geschichte zurückblicken kann. Die neue 2013er Version des legendären DOD 250 bietet den klassischen Klang und den wilden Charakter des Klassikers, ohne Abstriche zu machen. Der 250 ist nun noch besser denn je. Mit an Bord sind True-Bypass, eine klare, blaue Status-LED, ordentlich Output und ein zeitgemäßer 9V-Eingang für den Betrieb mit Netzteilen. Mit dem leichteren Aluminiumgehäuse, der gelben Metal-Flake-Lackierung und der mattschwarz lackierten Unterseite ist der 2013er DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 die ideale Grundlage das Vermächtnis von DOD weiterzuführen.

Der DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 (2013) bietet, wie seine Vorgänger, einen Gain- und Level-Regler. Mit Gain wird der Verzerrungsgrad bestimmt. Dieser reicht von leicht angezerrt bis kräftig verzerrt. Mit dem Level-Regler kann dem Klang mehr Substanz hinzugefügt werden, sodass das Pedal auch durchgängig angeschalten bleiben kann - oder weiter aufgedreht einen kräftigen Boost liefert, mit dem sich Soli selbst im dichtesten Soundmix durchsetzen. Die True-Bypass-Schaltung sorgt dafür, dass der Gitarrensound auch bei ausgeschaltetem Pedal klar bleibt. Dies ist ein großer Unterschied vom Original, welches den Klang des Instruments auch im ausgeschalteten Zustand färbte. Dank dem 9V-Eingang ist das Pedal nun auch noch Pedalboard-freundlicher.

The classic returns, first conceived by David Oreste Defrancesco (DOD’s namesake) in the ’70’s as a way to get distortion and boost without any of the downsides that came with some of the fuzzes of the era. This updated version uses the vintage correct LM741 OpAmp, just like back in the ’70’s. Modern appointments like a tough, light, pedalboard friendly aluminum chassis. standard power input jack, true bypass, LED indicator, and bullion gold powder-coat makes the 250 at home on any pedalboard.
