Das Source Audio ZIO ist ein komplett analoges Preamp / Boost Pedal, das eine Auswahl von vier unterschiedlichen Preamp-Schaltungen mit jeweils bis zu +20 dB zusätzlichem Output Boost bietet. Das Ziel bei der Entwicklung des ZIO Analog Front End + Boost war einfach, aber ehrgeizig: 'Make Everything Sound Better!' ZIO ist das erste komplett analoge Effektpedal von Source Audio und wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Christopher Venter, dem Eigentümer und alleinigen Ingenieur von SHOE Pedals, entwickelt. Das ZIO ist ein extrem flexibles Pedal, das für viele Anwendungsmöglichkeiten an verschiedenen Stellen im Signalweg genutzt werden kann: Am Anfang der Effekt-Kette, um den Gesamt-Sound zu verändern, nach den Drive Pedalen entweder als 'Tone Sweetener' oder als Clean Volume Boost, sowie am Ende des Signalwegs, um lange Kabelstrecken auszugleichen oder um den Klang einer Gitarre nachzubilden, die direkt in den Eingang des Verstärkers geht. Das ZIO lässt sich auch im FX-Loop nutzen, um die Endstufe in die Sättigung zu bringen oder um einen Level-Unterschied zwischen zwei Kanälen auszugleichen. Das Wort 'ZIO' ist ein Akronym für Impedanz ('Z' ist das elektrische Symbol für Impedanz), Eingang (Input - 'I') und Ausgang (Output - 'O'). Das Pedal ist so konzipiert, dass es das hochohmige Signal einer Gitarre aufnimmt, den Sound mit einer der vier Preamp-Schaltungen aufwertet und ein starkes, niederohmiges Signal ausgibt, das nicht durch die gebufferten Dry Tones von Effektpedalen im weiteren Verlauf der Signalkette verändert wird. Rauscharme High-Fidelity Burr-Brown Op-Amps geben dem Source Audio ZIO eine extreme Klarheit und ein schnelles, dynamisches Ansprechverhalten und erhalten gleichzeitig den Charakter und die Wärme des Instruments. Das ZIO bietet vier wählbare Preamp-Schaltungen: JFET bietet einen komplett transparenten Signal Boost ohne Färbung oder Verzerrung. LOW-CUT reduziert 'mulmige' Bass-Anteile für einen strafferen Sound mit zusätzlichem Headroom. STUDIO wurde vom altehrwürdigen 'Pultec Trick' inspiriert - einer Studio-Technik, die Klarheit im Sound schafft und 'Schwammigkeit' im Signal reduziert. E-PLEX fängt den fokussierten, subtilen Grit der Vorverstärker ein, die in Vintage Tape Delays zu finden sind. Der Tone-Kippschalter des ZIO bietet drei verschiedene Kapazitätsstufen (oder simulierte Kabellängen), um den Klang aufzuhellen oder abzudunkeln.

The Source Audio ZIO is an all-analog preamp/boost pedal that includes a choice of four distinct preamp circuits, each with up to +20dB of additional output boost. The goal in creating the ZIO Analog Front End + Boost was simple yet ambitious: 'Make Everything Sound Better!' ZIO is Source Audio's first all-analog effects pedal and designed in collaboration with Christopher Venter, the owner and sole engineer at SHOE Pedals. ZIO is a deceptively flexible unit that can serve many different purposes at various places in your signal path. Use it at the front of your chain of effects to shape the rest of your outgoing tone, after your drive pedals as an overall tone sweetener or clean volume boost, or at the the end of your pedalboard to drive a long cable run or as a restorative device to recreate the sound of your guitar going directly into the input of your amplifier. You can also use the ZIO in your amp's effects loop if you want to drive your power amp even harder, or to compensate for a level mismatch between two channels. The word 'ZIO' is an acronym for Impedance ('Z' is the electrical symbol for impedance), Input ('I'), and Output ('O'). The pedal is designed to take a guitar's high impedance signal, sweeten the tone with any of its four preamp circuits, and output a strong, low impedance signal that won't be altered by the buffered dry tones of effect pedals further down the signal chain. High fidelity, noise-free Burr-Brown op amps help give ZIO extreme clarity and responsive pick dynamics, while maintaining ideal body and warmth. ZIO has four distinct preamp circuits. JFET offers a completely transparent signal boost with zero coloring or distortion. LOW-CUT reduces 'tubby' bottom-end for a tighter sound with added headroom. STUDIO finds inspiration from the time-honored 'Pultec Trick', a studio technique that adds clarity by cutting the 'mud frequencies' and adding mid-range articulation. E-PLEX captures the focused and subtle grit of the preamps found in vintage tape delay units. The ZIO's Tone toggle offers three different levels of capacitance (or simulated cable length) to brighten or darken the tone.

A compact OD that stores an exquisite instrument with a comfortable midrange.  Set to build sound foundation, covering booster to low gain overdrive. Through the proper use of carbon and metal film resistors, it also reproduces numerical resistance that can be normally difficult to obtain. Equipped with a 27V booster circuit utilizing a charge pump IC. Careful selection of parts and construction of board design results in an extremely low noise finish. For this version, a dedicated casing along with a large pointer knob has been adopted.

This Special Version of the KCM-OD lavishly uses luxury audio-grade parts and has been tuned.

It is equipped with a charge pump IC 27V booster circuit. It has extremely low noise as a result of the creative methods applied, such as careful selection of the parts to be used, placement of the circuit pattern with heavy consideration of noise reduction, and star ground wiring (single point grounding).

In addition, the FAT knob, which newly allows for stepless adjustment for the first time with this V9.0, can push out a bit of the sound from the low side and increase the harmonic components at the same time. It produces the original constant when it is set at the Normal position.
