No un-useable tones! Neither harsh nor mushy; the string attack is always preserved throughout the entire range of the fretboard, regardless of the sustain level. Tonal emphasis is placed on the midrange in order to showcase the player's technique.

The Skreddy Pedals™ BC109 FUZZ is made from silicon transistors for power and temperature stability, but it's darkened so you can get germanium-ish effects out of it too.

The 2 transistors are piggybacked for better tone (smoother, lower noise than single transistors), giving this circuit 4 transistors total.

BC109 Fuzz

The Skreddy Pedals™ BC239 FUZZ is a throwback to the late "rams head" era.  The BC239 transistor will tend to render less bass, resulting in a more biting and articulate muff tone.  Add to that the fact that the later rams heads employed plastic film capacitors instead of the softer, grittier tone of ceramic discs used in the triangle knobs and earlier rams heads, and you get a clear, cutting top end.  You'll hear every detail of its velvety distortion.  I'm preserving articulation by keeping the gain in check just enough and not letting it get too mushy or syrupy.  Nice and hot with ample harmonics and of course great sustain.  Rather than a round, fluty tone, you'll get a meaty grind even in your high notes.

BC239

The Skreddy Pedals™ Perestroika hearkens to the early 1990's Russian tank version fuzz which had a gritty bite to the top end, a smooth, gently scooped midrange, and a warm, but not boomy low end. Okay, it can get boomy.  Depending on where you set the tone control.  Has just enough gain to propel your solos and never mushy on chords.

We're adding our customary midrange boost mini toggle, too, for flat mids, no scoop!
