The Pigtronix 2NR is a no-nonsense, high-precision chromatic tuner pedal for guitar and bass. It features a large, high-contrast LED screen and ultra-fast pitch detection software that makes tuning quick and easy for musicians of every skill level.

2NR intentionally contains no extraneous features. There are no alternate modes or opportunities for accidental frustration. The pedal exists solely to help musicians tune their instrument to 440 Hz standard concert pitch as quickly and accurately as possible.

When 2NR is activated, the output is muted. When the pedal is not in use, relay-based, true bypass switching ensures that 100% of your tone passes through the pedal without any loss of fidelity. Der Philosopher’s Tone von Pigtronix, eine Kombination aus Sustainer/Compressor und Distortion, wird seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr hergestellt. Nun bringt der Hersteller aus Long Island, New York, mit dem Philosopher’s Tone Micro eine abgespeckte Version des Pedals, das zum einen in einem kleinere Gehäuse steckt und zum anderen auf den Distortion verzichtet.

Famous for its noiseless clean sustain, the Philosopher’s Tone has staked its claim in the crowded world of compressor pedals. In addition to Volume and Sustain controls, the Philosopher’s Tone features a parallel Blend knob that allows the musician to mix their instrument’s original tone with the compressed sound effect. This technique restores natural pick-attack and allows more extreme sustain settings to remain musical. The Treble control provides up to a 6db cut or boost at 2kHz for fine-tuning the frequency response of the effect. The Philosopher’s Tone features true-bypass switching and internal 18V power rails for maximum clean headroom, even when used with hot pickups and line level signals.

Es kann unauffällig als transparenter Headroom-Boost im Setup bleiben und sich mit zunehmender Einstellung zu einem dichten, harmonisch reichhaltigen Drive entwickeln, der stets kontrolliert und geschmeidig bleibt. Mosphoros is RhPf Electronics’ wide-range overdrive built around one idea: making gain feel like motion rather than a switch between clean and dirty. It can sit in a rig as a high-headroom lift that keeps transients intact, then stretch into a harmonically layered drive that stays smooth even when pushed hard. The feel is the headline here. Notes swell, compress, and bloom while staying responsive to pick attack, with a long sweep from clarity to saturated weight instead of a single clipping point.

Lew, one of Gavial Haze’s two guitarists, has dialed in a pedalboard that perfectly suits his role as a sonic explorer in the band’s instrumental stoner-psych universe. His setup is built for versatility and depth, balancing classic overdrive and fuzz with detailed EQ shaping, immersive delay, and atmospheric reverb.

Lew’s signal chain starts with the Spark Mini Booster for a touch of extra push, flowing into the classic roar of the Fulltone OCD and the smooth, dynamic drive of the Nobels ODR-Mini. When it’s time for massive fuzz, the JHS Muffuletta steps in, while the Avalanche Run V2 opens up wide ambient spaces with rich delay and reverb textures. Sculpting the final tone, Lew uses the MXR Six Band EQ, keeping everything balanced and cutting through. On the expressive side, his Cry Baby Junior Wah adds vocal sweeps, and the Polytune Mini keeps everything in check.

The latest addition to Lew’s board is the RhPf Electronics Twin Peaks Eiger–Mönch— a dual cascading delay with plenty of character. We’re excited to see how this new pedal will inspire Lew’s playing and add new layers to Gavial Haze’s future sound. If you catch them live or spinning their debut album, listen for those lush delay trails and evolving atmospheres—there’s a good chance the Twin Peaks is behind the magic.

Das legendäre Big Muff Fuzz gibt es schon so lange, es wurde auf so vielen klassischen Aufnahmen verewigt und hat dabei so viele Variationen durchgemacht, dass wahrscheinlich jeder Gitarrist eine Lieblingsversion des ikonischen Tones hat. JHS Pedals wollte diesem unbestreitbar klassischen Fuzz Pedal Tribut zollen, aber sie konnten sich nicht darauf einigen, welche Muff-Version die beste war. The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.
