The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Mit dem JHS Pedals Summing Amp habst du die Möglichkeit, zwei Eingangssignale in einem Ausgangssignal zu mischen. Dies ist ideal, um Effekte parallel zu betreiben, so dass sie nicht voneinander beeinflusst werden. The Edge verwendete diese Technik beispielsweise in den 80er Jahren mit seinen Delays. Mit dem Summing Amp hast du die Möglichkeit, Effekte auf völlig neue Art und Weise zusammen zu nutzen, die du dir vielleicht nie vorgestellt hast. Und der JHS Summing Amp eröffnet dir mit deinen alten Effekten völlig neue und inspirierende Klänge.

The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". This can also be used with overdrives so that they are not pushing each other as in series, but sit atop one another in parallel. Another use is combining fuzz and compression in parallel so the fuzz isn't getting choked by the compression. The Summing Amp gives you the ability to use effects together in completely new ways that you may never have imagined and can open up new and inspiring sounds with your old effects.

Es war der Oktober im Jahr 1971, als die Mannen von Pink Floyd ihr berühmtes Werk „Live at the Pompeii“ im Amphitheater der gleichnamigen italienischen Stadt aufnahmen. Stets mit dabei war eines der wohl angesagtesten Effektgeräte der damaligen Zeit – das Binson Echorec. Wohl kaum ein anderes Gerät prägte so maßgeblich den Sound von Pink Floyd der frühen Jahre wie dieses Echogerät, dessen Prinzip auf einer rotierenden Magnetscheibe basierte, die mit vier Tonköpfen das Signal aufnahm bzw. abspielte. Dabei machte nicht nur Leadgitarrist Dave Gilmour vom Echorec gebrauch, auch Bassist Roger Waters und Tastenmann Richard Wright nutzen diese Maschine ausgiebig.

The Binson Echorec was so cool we had no choice but to bring it back. And we wanted to bring it back right. We wanted to take all the goodness of that huge Binson Echorec and squeeze it down into a standard sized stompbox without losing anything. In fact, in addition to not losing any of the qualities that made it such a compelling musical device, we wanted to EXTEND its capabilities because the original Binson hinted at possibilities that it couldn’t realize. We’re talking about variable delay time! We thought, “What if we had the same four playback head concept but could stretch the delay time out beyond the 300mS of the original Binson?” Then the rhythmic patterns suggested by the various combinations of those four playback heads could really come to life!

Das Catalinbread Reverb-Pedal hat das gleichnamige Programm des Yamaha FX500 Multieffektgeräts aus den 90er-Jahren zum Vorbild. Maßgeblichen Anteil hatte dieser Ambient-Reverb am Sound der britischen Band Slowdive auf ihrem Album Souvlaki, das heute unter Fans des sogenannten Shoegaze-Stils als absoluter Klassiker gilt. Und das, obwohl die Signalqualität des FX500 laut diverser Aussagen im Netz mit heutigen Maßstäben nicht mithalten kann.

With its roots in that patch, the Catalinbread Soft Focus is intended to be an instant shoegaze button, while addressing the most glaring issues of the original unit: no mix control, a sub-par preamp, and a ghastly tone-sucking bypass signal. At its heart, the Soft Focus is a heavily modified plate reverb with adjustable time, which is subsequently split into three paths. One path contains a multi-voiced chorus modulator, another features a well-appointed octave-up mixed in with the reverb, and the third path leaves the reverb untouched.

Note - The Soft Focus runs from 9 to 18 volts using a standard DC center-negative power supply for pedals. Make sure you’re using a supply that provides at least 100mA. Running the Soft Focus at 9V will sound great, but if you want a bit more output, a dry signal boost and increased headroom, try any voltage you like up to 18V! The Soft Focus does not run on batteries.

BL-44 is a reverse pedal within our BL line. It is a real-time reverse delay, constantly reading backwards what you put into it forwards. With control over the system clock, the user can affect delay time and overall quality of the delay, from fast playback to slow, degraded buffers. It is simple in control and surprising in sound.

The ARP-87 is a compact, feature-rich delay, packed with a large pallet of inspirational delay tones. Featuring four main algorithms, digital, analog, lo-fi, and slap back, the ARP-87 can cover some serious ground in the world of echoes.

The Digital algorithm boasts pristine, crystal clear repeats great for rhythmic riffs. The Analog setting works well to add warmth and dimension to chords and lines without getting in the way. The Lo-Fi algorithm, with its adjustable frequency range on the repeats, goes from warm, warped, and murky, to strait AM radio. Finally, the Slap setting makes it easy to dial in a great slap back echo perfect for smoking chicken pickin’ runs. When designing the temperature controlled fuzz, we tried some unusual approaches. One false start utilized a voltage controlled error correction circuit to bias a single germanium transistor. It ultimately didn’t work for the fuzz, which is comically sensitive to transistor gain attributes. 

We did find a place for it though. 

It turns out it was PERFECT for achieving a germanium clean boost that, (like our fuzz) is impervious to component drift, leakage, and temperature....moreso in fact. We also fixed a couple other issues preventing the germanium transistor from being used as a convinc- ing linear boost...we increased the input headroom (even a normal guitar signal will drive a germanium transistor into unwanted input distortion without some tweaks) and increased the input impedance (a BJT transistor would normally thin out bass frequencies and interact negatively with whatever flows into it). 

The result is a germanium clean boost that can utilize a germanium transistor WITHOUT the weird artifacts that were previously accepted as part of the deal...temperature sensitivity, drift, and suboptimal input impedance and headroom. 

After the boost is first powered up, it takes about ten seconds before the error correction circuit correctly biases the germanium transistor After this things get interesting....we can hear how having the boost engaged makes guitar signals sound more musical...even when set at the same volume as the bypassed tone. Notes are given a simultaneously smoother and more detailed character, like a compressor but different. Some people we’ve shown it to have noted that it appears to deemphasize the unwanted parts of a signal and enhance the good. It’s killer on bass. It helps acoustic guitar pickups sound more natural. And of course it’ll push your amp into a frenzy.

You asked for it…we went to work…it’s wonderful.

The Black Tiger Delay Device is an amazing delay pedal. What would happen if you took the sound of two vintage tape delays, and sprinkled in a bit of sound from a vintage oil-can delay? Well…you’d be in delay heaven, or at least we think so. So, that’s what we did! After countless requests for a Greer Amps delay, we’ve finally answered the call. We took the time to engineer this delay to have the sound and feel of those vintage delays, with some added touch sensitivity.
