Description
The Pigtronix Philosopher’s Tone is an analog optical compressor and sustainer known for its high headroom and low-noise operation. It features a unique parallel blend control that allows users to mix the original dry signal with the compressed effect to preserve pick attack. A specialized treble control offers 6dB of boost or cut at 2kHz for fine-tuning frequency response. The circuit includes a smooth diode-clipping distortion, adjustable via the Grit knob, for adding harmonic saturation. It utilizes internal 18V power rails to maximize clarity and prevent unwanted clipping even with high-output instruments.Media
