The Pastfx Nick James Foot Phaser is a collaboration with Nick James of Peril Pedals and is based upon the foxx Foot Phaser V1.
The foxx Foot Phaser is made famous by Brian May of Queen. Made in the 70’s, its treadle design allowed the Phase speed to be controlled by knob or treadle.
Foxx released several versions of the foot phaser with different number of phase stages and circuit design. However it is Version 1’s design that is most synonymous with Brian May.

The Nick James foot phaser requires considerable testing to find a set of 10 matching transistors. This involves testing thousands of transistors by hand, to get the perfect phase.

Thanks to the unique access provided by his long term tech, Pete Malandrone, the sound representing each decade has been meticulously modelled after the actual vintage equipment used by Brian May during each period of his stellar career - his dynamic, germanium Dallas Rangemaster from the 1970's, the orange label, silicon BC149 transistor powered booster installed on his pedal board throughout the 80's, and an original 1998 Greg Fryer strap booster. Every possible technical nuance of these contemporaneous processors has been analysed in order to recreate the original circuitry and realise an astonishingly authentic reproduction of their tonal responses and output profiles.

The PastFx New Division Is a faithful recreation of the 1970’s / 80’s MN3007 EHX Clone Theory. We have also incorporated some of the features of the 1st 1970’s Reticon Sad1024 version, while adding new options that address some of the flaws of the original circuit.

Peter Hook (New Order /Joy Division) is probably the most well-known artist associated with these early models. The 1970’s Sad1024 version incorporates an “Edge” (Bright switch), however when the Bucket Brigade chip was replaced with the MN3007, the bright switch was removed and a VIB/Flange switch was added.
The Heart of the New Division is its Chorus effect.

The PastFx Patriarch fuzz is a faithful recreation and expansion of the Buffalo FX Patriot MKI and MKII, which was modeled after the Sovtek “Civil War” (Blue & Grey) Muff famously used by David Gilmour during Pink Floyd’s 1994 Division Bell tour and timelessly captured in their acclaimed live album Pulse. It is our highest gain offering within the Spectrum Collection. The Patriarch is characterised by booming low end, cutting lead tones, and jaw-dropping sustain and power, all while maintaining a surprisingly quiet noise floor. It is a heavy, girthy Muff-style fuzz that blasts through the mix and offers punishingly brutal note definition and natural compression that makes for extremely satisfying high gain fuzz tones. The Patriarch is more naturally “mids present” than most other Muff-derived circuits. To further exploit this, the pedal boasts a “Mids” knob that allows users to bring more or less into the mix, as well as a “Lows” cut knob that tames the substantial low end as it is turned clockwise. There is also an internal micro switch for exploring more tone sculpting options for determining the pedal’s mids and EQ response. With the Level rolled down or turned up, the Patriarch can deliver bite, grit, and presence, with a refined fire-breathing attitude that gloriously pummels the senses and rains down sweet muffy goodness at any setting.

Der PastFx Hot for Flanger ist ein analoger Flanger-Effektpedal des australischen Herstellers PastFx, der vom klassischen 1970er-MXR M117 Flanger-Sound inspiriert ist, aber mit modernen Features und einem kompakten Gehäuse erweitert wurde. Er verwendet einen NOS MN3007-BBD-Chip, der klassische Jet-Plane- und modulierte Sweep-Sounds liefert, sowie Regler für Speed (Rate), Width, Manual, Regen (Feedback) und Blend zur Mischung von trockenem und Flanger-Signal. Ein spezieller Waldo/EVH-inspirierten Timing-Schalter verändert die Clock/Modulationscharakteristik, und eine zweifarbige LFO-LED zeigt die Modulationsgeschwindigkeit an. It uses an NOS MN3007 bucket-brigade delay (BBD) chip, providing classic jet-plane and swooshing modulation tones alongside controls for Speed (Rate), Width, Manual, Regen (feedback) and Blend for wet/dry balance. A unique Waldo/EVH-inspired clock/timing switch adds a different voicing or faster clock range, and a dual red/blue LFO LED gives visual feedback on modulation rate settings. The pedal runs on 18 V DC (negative tip) for optimal headroom and BBD performance, and is equipped with true bypass switching.
