The speaker cab simulation & DI let's you go direct, providing YOUR sound, whatever backline is being provided at the venue you're playing. Do you want to use your favorite cab? No problem, load an impulse response of its sound into the MOD 5 and you have it with you, wherever you go. The patchbay part is designed to route connections from underneath your pedalboard to its front, in order to give you a central access point to your setup and tidy up your connections. Like the Iguana that’s malleable to its environment, blending into its surroundings for harmonious balance or standing out with vibrant confidence, the Polychrome Flanger is a uniquely colorful tool for adding modulated textures to songs.   

The Polychrome is a true bypass, analog Flanger pulling in familiar layout controls from the Julia and Lillian. Dial in a wealth of colorful flange with the D-F-V (Dry, Flange, Vibrato) blend knob and the shape and voice switches.

The Shape Switch lets you select from sine, triangle, or random LFO wave to modulate the delay line.

The Voice Switch lets you select between two voices for the flanging effect. In the down position, the flanger is more traditional and full frequency. In the up position, you get a more complex and notched flange effect with less low end.

Like the other members of the Walrus Audio modulation family, the Polychrome has a blend knob. The D-F-V (Dry, Flange, Vibrato) knob lets you blend the dry and delayed signal from full dry at minimum (no effect), to traditional flange at noon to full pitch vibrato at maximum. Don’t sleep on the vibrato sounds in the Polychrome. Set the D-F-V knob to maximum, feedback to a minimum, and the voice switch up for some unique pitch vibrato.  

Top-mounted input, output, and power jacks as well as soft switch relay bypassing make the Polychrome fit well on your board and ensure smooth operation for years to come.

Der Zahn der Zeit nagt auch an Effektpedalen. Bauteile verziehen sich, Potis gehen kaputt, Transistoren werden unbrauchbar. Sie finden ein neues Zuhause, werden vernachlässigt und weiterverkauft. Manchmal versuchen Leute, diese Pedale in ihren Originalzustand zurückzuversetzen, und manchmal stopfen sie alles, was sie gerade so finden, hinein und hoffen, dass alles wieder wie vorher wird. EarthQuaker Devices glaubt, dass bei dem Fuzz-Pedal, das eines Tages seinen Weg zu James Murphy fand und ins Arsenal seiner Band LCD Soundsystem integriert wurde, all diese Dinge passiert sind.
Und daher ist dieses Pedal wirklich etwas Besonderes. Es klingt „heavy“, aber nicht zu heavy; sauber, aber nicht zu sauber. Es hat einfache Bedienelemente, aber eine große Auswahl an Soundvarianten, sodass es sich für eine Vielzahl von Instrumenten und Stilen eignet. Es klingt transparent, wenn du es willst, und kann andererseits einen Klang bis zur Unkenntlichkeit verändern. Es hat immer noch die DNA eines klassischen Fuzz-Pedals. Aber im Laufe der Jahre ist etwas Besonderes daraus geworden, und es steht zu seinem Charakter.
Es ist davon auszugehen, dass du dieses Pedal schon einmal gehört hast. Bei mehreren Produktionen von LCD Soundsystem kam es als Bass-Fuzz-Pedal zum Einsatz und ist mit der Band auch um die Welt gereist. Man könnte sagen, dass es ein echtes Schätzchen ist, ein Unikat. Es wurde kräftig rangenommen und dann mit Klebeband wieder zusammengeflickt. Es sieht aus, als ob es am Ende ist – und doch funktioniert es. Es ist alt, es ist zerbrechlich – und es klingt dennoch massiv. Kurz: zu alt, um es in den Ruhestand zu schicken, aber auch zu erschöpft, um das Spiel noch viel länger mitzumachen. Und genau hier kommt EarthQuaker Devices ins Spiel. Unsere Aufgabe war es, den Klang dieses Pedals exakt nachzubilden; aber in einer neuen, zuverlässigen Inkarnation, die den Belastungen der modernen Welt gewachsen ist. Leicht war das nicht, aber wir haben es geschafft. Und daher kannst du dich jetzt über das Chelsea freuen.
Benannt wurde es nach dem Gitarrenladen, in dem es 1989 gekauft wurde. Und es bildet alle Eigenheiten des Originals nach, ohne dass die Gefahr eines Totalausfalls besteht. Obwohl dieses Pedal mit seinen drei Reglern auf den ersten Blick bescheiden wirkt, versteckt sich eine Menge klangliches Potenzial unter der Oberfläche – vom leichtem Overdrive bis hin zu voller Verzerrung. Und dabei bietet es gleichzeitig die Klarheit und die herrliche Kratzigkeit, die das Original zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht haben. Genau wie bei der Vorlage kannst du mit dem Tone-Schalter des Chelsea die Klangregelung aus dem Schaltkreis entfernen und bekommen dann einen ganz neuen, mittenbetonten Grind-Sound. Schalte den Tone-Bereich aus, um ein schnörkelloses, geradliniges Attack zu erhalten, oder lass ihn eingeschaltet, um eine kraftvolle Verzerrung mit reichlich Bässen und einer leichten natürlichen Schärfe zu erhalten. Drehe den Sustain-Regler auf, um die Wände mit kraftvollen Bässen zum Beben zu bringen oder stabile Leads zu erhalten. Mit dem Tone-Regler kannst du den Frequenzgang ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste formen; von aggressiven Höhen bis zu einem düsteren Rumpeln. Dieses Teil hat wirklich endlos Potenzial und kommt mit ziemlich jeder Signalquelle klar. Glaub's einfach – EarthQuaker Devices machen das schließlich schon lange genug. Großes Pedalbauer-Ehrenwort!

Sometimes pedals can change. Parts drift, pots break, transistors go bad. They go to new homes; they get neglected and resold. Sometimes people get in there and try to revive them to their original state and sometimes they just throw whatever is laying around inside and hope it does the trick. EarthQuaker Devices believes that the fuzz pedal that one day found its way to James Murphy and became part of his band LCD Soundsystem's arsenal is where all these things happened.
This particular pedal really does have something special. It’s heavy without being too heavy, clean but not too clean. A simple set of controls yet it has an expansive array of tones that makes it very versatile on a wide variety of instruments. It has clarity when you need it and can blur all discernable lines when you don’t. It still retains the familiar foundation of the classic fuzz it was intended to be, but something special happened to it over the years and it has very much grown into its own thing. 
It is likely that you have heard this pedal before. It has been the chosen bass fuzz for several LCD recordings and has traveled around the world with them. I’d say that it is a prized possession, a real one-of-a-kind pedal. It has been beat up and taped back together. It looks like it shouldn’t work but it always delivers. It is old, it is fragile, and it sounds massive. Too good to retire yet too tired to keep going. That is where we come in. EarthQuaker Devices were tasked with replicating the exact sound of this pedal but in a reliable format that can withstand the stresses of this modern world. No easy feat, for sure, but we persevered and have brought you the Chelsea.
Named after the guitar shop in which it was purchased back in 1989, the Chelsea recreates all the idiosyncrasies of the original but without the threat of total collapse. With only three controls, this deceptively powerful pedal offers you everything from light overdrive to full on distortion with all the clarity and blissful grinding that make the original so special. Just like the original, a Tone On/Off switch allows you remove the tone control from the circuit, opening up a whole new world of midrange grind. Switch it off for a simplified and straightforward attack or leave it on for a full-bodied distortion with loads of low end with a slight natural scoop. Roll up the Sustain for wall-shaking bass notes or sustaining lead and adjust the Tone for a wild and wide frequency response from aggressive top end to low-end rumble. The Justin Chancellor Cry Baby Wah is a multi-tool of sonic craftsmanship, combining three separate effects into a single pedal: the fluid expressiveness of a custom midrange filter, the bright aggression of a custom wah circuit, and the chainsaw grind of a vintage fuzz. It's the perfect complement to bass player Justin Chancellor's multi-dimensional role in the band Tool. Whether opening up soundscapes with chords and harmonics or syncing up with guitarist Adam Jones to perform arresting single-note unison runs, Justin goes above and beyond the traditional boundaries of his instrument to help compose the band's multi-layered tunes. In the past couple of years, Chinese pedal maker NUX has been releasing some not too subtle (and incredibly affordable) clones of several best-selling classic stompboxes under the rather misleadingly named “Reissue Series” (uhm, reissues of pedals… made by other builders?). Nothing wrong with cloning (almost everyone does it) we are just a little perplexed by the use of the “reissue” word.

Even just the color of their Analog Delay betrays the influence of classic Ibanez / Maxon three-knob Bucket Brigade Device delays from the ’80s. That’s exactly what you get with this pedal: the warm repeats of the 3205 and 3102 BBD chips, for just under $60!
