Unbelievably quiet, the Big Payback is one damned fine VCA-based, feed-back compressor boasting up to a 40:1 compression ratio, lightning-fast or molasses-slow response time (controlled via the Attack knob), and even a Dynamic-Expansion mode (with comp knob set to minimum)! Endless sustain and controlled clean or dirty feedback are easily available at higher settings, all while retaining individual note clarity and complete tonal transparency. This pedal makes a good tone sound even better, and a damned fine tone sound impossibly great.
