Like the Moollon S.L.O. 101, the S.L.O. 201 uses a FET/transistor-based Class A amplifier circuit. The name “Super Lead Overdrive” says it all: the pedal delivers classic overdrive and gain sounds that vintage tone purists have always been looking for - with additional gain reserves. The circuit is designed like a tube amplifier and overcomes the tonal limitations of older, OP-AMP-based drive pedals. This not only enables a wider range of tonal nuances, but also exceptionally expressive dynamics when playing. The sound is full, warm and powerful - ideal for expressive overdrive tones with plenty of punch. In contrast to the S.L.O. 101, the S.L.O. 201 does not require a Hi-Z input. It is therefore compatible with active pickups and buffered pedals. It also has an additional gain stage, which enables even more distortion than the S.L.O. 101. In combination with a clean tube amp, the pedal offers rich overdrive sounds - if you turn it up further, you get lead-compatible gain. Regardless of whether the amplifier is clean or already distorted: After setting the desired drive level, you can use the guitar's volume control to create finely graduated distortion - for maximum tonal expressiveness. Even when used in front of an already distorted amp, the S.L.O. 201 provides even richer gain without distorting the original mid-range characteristics and tone color of the guitar.
