Black Math begann ursprünglich als ein Projekt aus Leidenschaft. Ich bin ein großer Fan des Garage-Rock aus Detroit Anfang der 2000er. Es ist unter Gitarrist*innen allgemein bekannt, dass all dieser Sound von großen alten NYC-Reissues kommt. Ich habe im Laufe der Jahre mehrere davon besessen, doch keine klang ganz richtig. Dann hatte ich eine Erkenntnis: Die NYC-Reissue, die damals verfügbar war, ist gründlich anders als diejenige, die heute erhältlich ist. Entworfen von der großartigen Fran Blanche, hatte diese Version einen etwas komprimierteren und „scooped“ Sound. Wenn man sie in Sättigung boostet, wird sie noch komprimierter, noch ausgefahrener. Ein paar Anpassungen später hatte ich den Sound, den ich in so vielen Live-Videos gehört hatte, in einer Box. Die Bedienelemente sind: BOOST (Vor-Muff Op-Amp-Boost zur Sättigung), GAIN (Menge an Rock, erlaubt mehr Höhenfrequenzanteil bei niedrigem Gain), TONE (typische Muff-Tonregelung: wahlweise wolliger Bass links oder Höhen rechts), LOUD (Menge an Lautstärke), BLOWOUT (Schalter, entfernt Dioden früh im Schaltkreis für rauere Textur und zusätzliche Verzerrung). Interne Steuerung: MIDS (setzt den Mitten­abfall oder Mitten­boost). Verwendet Standard Boss-Stil Netzteil 9 V DC 2,1 mm centre-negativ und oberseitige Buchsen.

Black Math originally started as a passion project. I'm a huge fan of the garage rock coming out of Detroit in the early 2000’s. It's common knowledge among guitarists that all of that sound came from big old NYC Reissues. I’ve owned several of them over the years, but none sounded quite right. Then I had a revelation, the NYC reissue that was available then is thoroughly different than the one available now. Designed by the amazing Fran Blanche, this version had a bit more compressed and scooped sound. When boosted into saturation it gets an even more compressed, blown out sound. A few adjustments later I arrived to the sound I had heard in so many live videos in one box. The controls are: BOOST (pre muster op-amp boost to saturate and overwhelm), GAIN (amount of rock, allows more treble frequencies at lower gain), TONE (typical Muff tone control, woolly bass to the left and treble to the right), LOUD (amount of loud), BLOWOUT (toggle removes diodes early on in the circuit for more ragged texture and additional gain). Internal control: MIDS (sets the amount of midrange dip or boost). Uses standard Boss-style power supply 9 VDC 2.1 mm centre-negative and top-mounted jacks.

The Mask Audio Electronics NO Fuzz pedal is a chaotic fuzz effect based on a circuit using cascaded octave generators. Unlike its sibling, the YES! Fuzz Pedal, which features a dynamic yet gnarly gated fuzz, the NO Fuzz pedal focuses on a more aggressive, octave-driven fuzz tone. This pedal is handmade in small batches, ensuring each unit is unique and crafted with attention to detail.

. Part Garden entstand aus der Idee, Fuzz-Pedale zu stapeln. Es handelt sich im Grunde um zwei Fuzzes in einem Pedal, wobei beide so abgestimmt sind, dass sie das Beste des jeweils anderen hervorbringen. Wir haben lange nach der perfekten, vielseitigen Kombination gesucht, die sowohl als sanfter Overdrive als auch als wildes Fuzz und alles dazwischen funktionieren kann. Der erste Fuzz-Sound ist ziemlich warm und der zweite harmonisch reichhaltig, aber das ändert sich, je nachdem, wie Sie die Regler einstellen. Dies ist ein sehr dynamisches Pedal, also stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie Ihren Lautstärkeregler benutzen, um noch mehr Bandbreite aus ihm herauszuholen.

Collector//Emitter and Mask Audio Electronics are excited to introduce Part Garden

Part Garden grew from the idea of stacking fuzz pedals. It's essentially two fuzzes within one pedal, with both tuned to bring out the best of the other. We spent a long time trying to find the perfect, versatile combination, with the ability to work as a smooth overdrive, a wild fuzz, and anything in between. The first fuzz is fairly warm and the second is harmonically rich, though this will change as you adjust the controls. This is a very dynamic pedal, so be sure to use your volume control to get even more range out of it.

Part Garden

We are happy to partner with fellow Midwest dirt farmer Zac at Malaise Forever Customs to bring Clubber Lang to the Mask Audio Electronics lineup. Clubber Lang is a love letter to the harmonic percolator but adds some improvements for the modern player. Adding a MOSFET input stage to push some wild texture out of the circuit, as well as asymmetrical soft clipping, increased low end output, and a widely effective tone control. There is a lot of interactivity between all of the knobs on the pedal and all of the knobs on your instrument. Clubber Lang rewards the detailed tweakers and pedal stackers.

YES! is the older brother to NO. It has learned when to be quiet and when to speak. Taking the same fuzz formula and viewing it from a different angle. Less of a focus on a snarling upper octave and more on gating and dynamics. YES! also stacks with almost anything, perfect of scuzzing up your reverb or thickening your phaser.
