Triple Threat starts with a wide-range high gain distortion, with volume, gain, and tone controls to create a threatening rock sound. A classic phaser upgraded from the Pearl Tremor pedal by Donner is next with extended mod controls. Third in line is an analog voiced echo, originated from Donner’s first ever pedal, the Yellow Fall Delay released in 2013,  with warm analog tone and rich feedback. 

With upgraded circuit design and tuning the tone to Jack’s specifications, Donner combined three analog circuits into one metal enclosure, delivering unique analog sounds and versatile utility for musicians on the go. Third Man Hardware designed the external appearance of The Triple Threat, adding its signature patterns such as lightning bolts from the Tesla tower on the panel, three sharp stripes in front and  the signature diagrams from Third Man Hardware’s logo on both sides of the pedal.

The Dynamic Wah is an envelope filter (or autowah/touch wah) pedal with detailed effect character control. The Sure Shot Clipping Boost is a different kind of boost.  Is it high headroom? NO!  Is it Germanium?  Again, NOOOOPE!  This boost is designed to get dirty, but it does so in a very special way.  The Sure Shot has one single control on its face.  The LOUD control does just that, it makes you loud, but…it does it in a way that is unique amongst boosts.  As you increase the LOUD control, the Sure Shot will push your amp into overdrive, while it also pushes a pair of MA856 clipping diodes.  
This results in a very special tone—a LAYERED drive effect, in which the amp AND the pedal are both beginning to overdrive.  Now, this alone is truly special…but wait…there’s more.  If you run this in front of your favorite boost, overdrive, distortion, or even a second Sure Shot, you’ll find that it adds texture and juiciness to those sounds.  The audio image of the Sure Shot is purposely rooted in the 1970’s, with some areas slightly peaked out, and some frequencies tamped down just a bit.

The Del Mar was conceived in an effort to add a Tubescreamer-style clipping stage to the Klon Centaur. I’ve always loved the clean half of the Centaur, but my favourite clipping stage has always been the articulate and detailed response of the Tubescreamer.

My engineering sensibilities at the time were perhaps somewhat naive, and my attempts to incorporate aspects of the Klon, Tubescreamer and Bluesbreaker actually resulted in something that is not exactly like any of them.

In retrospect, I think that engineering things in the “wrong" way resulted in an inadvertently unique result, which at this stage and with the benefit of hindsight, is something I’ve come to be very proud of.

Lion is the central point of the board.  It is the "amp", where the main tone, clean and dirty channels, and everything is connected to and from.  The Deco is the stereo split point.  Mono pedals come before it.  On the front of the signal chain, the receiver, guitar input on the Decimator, EP Booster, compressor,  phaser, and Super Sweet, are all connected the the noise gate circuit.  

Those all get connected to Decimator IN.  From Decimator OUT, the Carbon Copy Mini is first in the chain (so the repeats don't get chopped by the gate), and then it's off to the Deco, where the stereo split happens.  From the Deco's Left/Right outs, that goes to Lion Left/Right IN, and then it's off to the HX One, Starlight Echo, and Collider, all in stereo, and then out to a stereo DI, a mixing console, or audio interface.  

The Strymon switch accesses my favorite preset, which is the Super Wide mode with some saturation on the Deco (Super Wide mode is AMAZING!!!).

The Source Audio switch is actually the tap tempo, as the onboard tap tempo on Collider is not great.  A long press on the delay/tap tempo switch will allow you to scroll through the onboard presets, and the scroll speed is just right, not too fast, not too slow, so it works out well.

Underneath the board is a Walrus Audio Canvas 15, and a JHS active splitter/buffer, which I'm currently using as just an active buffer, as well as a Temple Audio LED strip light, which is just for fun but looks.  

It's a silent, stereo board that gives me all of my meat and potatoes that I enjoy, plus a lot of really cool delay types, reverbs that I'm able to FREEZE to create pads (very cool!) via the Collider, and HX One is AFTER the amp, very intentionally, to predominantly be a stereo VOLUME boost, but in addition has some great sounding modulation, time based, and other effects that I can access.  

I have it set up as a two channel amp, with a clean and a gain channel, but with two additional gain stages via the Super Sweet, and the Lion's onboard boost (EP Booster is always on, because I like what it does to the tone.  Compressor is always on as well. The Empress is the GUITAR version, not the bass version.) This is already built in real life, but seeing how the layout on a Rockboard would be, and I think it fits slightly better on the Rockboard than on the Pedaltrain.

Sync your modulation rate on-the-fly with the Source Audio Toolbox External Tap Tempo Switch. The Tap Tempo Switch is compatible with all Source Audio One Series modulation pedals. Use it to tap out the LFO speed of the Vertigo Tremolo, Lunar Phaser, Gemini Chorus, and Mercury Flanger. The Speed knob on each pedal sets the beat division to quarter, eighth, triplets, or 16th notes. 
South of 9 o’clock on the SPEED knob of Source Audio One Series Pedals will give you quarter note beat divisions, 9 to 12 o’clock gives you eighth notes, 12 to 3 gives you triplets, and 3 to 5 gives you 16th notes. 
The Tap Tempo Switch will also set the Delay Time or externally recall presets on the One Series Nemesis Delay. In addition, the Switch has a standard 1/4" output for use with compatible third-party products (normally open [NO], single pull/single throw (SPST)).

Den unglaublichen Sound, den EVH auf dieser Platte kreierte, gehört zu den absoluten Meilensteinen des Rock und ein wichtiger Bestandteil dieses Sounds war von vornherein der MXR Phase 90. Der Phase 90 trug maßgeblich zu den zeitlosen Gitarrensounds von “Eruption,“ “Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love,“ “On Fire,“ und “Atomic Punk“, sowie vieler anderer klassischer Van Halen Stücke bei. Entstanden aus einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Eddie Van Halen und Jim Dunlop ist der EVH 90 eine komplett neu designte Version des legendären Phase 90. Der EVH 90 zeigt genau die gleichen räumlichen Klangverwirbelungen und hypnotischen Phasenverschiebungen, die den Phase 90 so berühmt machten. Als neues Feature besitzt der EVH 90 den Script-Schalter, der es ermöglicht, zwischen dem Vintage 'Script Logo' und dem moderneren, aggressiveren 'Block Logo' Phasersound zu wählen. When we released our original Compressor back in 2011, it quickly became a favourite among guitar and bass players alike who were searching for something more than the typical oversimplified controls found on most compressor pedals. Although our original Compressor sounded great on bass (and still does!) we set out to do even better. 
On top of the full range of features and controls normally only seen in high end studio equipment, such as input and gain reduction metering, independent attack and release controls, a mix knob for parallel compression, and an external sidechain insert, we’ve now added a fully variable sidechain high pass filter, and a two position ‘tone + colour’ circuit which adds gentle tone sculpting and harmonic distortion, giving your bass some delicious character.

The Source Audio One Series Collider Stereo Delay+Reverb combines two of the most popular effect types in one simple and intuitive pedal. Drawn from the effect engines of the award-winning Nemesis Delay and Ventris Dual Reverb, Collider offers the best delay and reverb effects in one compact, no-compromise package. The pedal allows for any combination of its five delay engines with any of its seven reverb effects and has dedicated ON/OFF switches for each effect. It is also possible to create independent dual delay or dual reverb presets. The pedal has dedicated MIDI input/output as well as support for expression control and remote switching. The Collider contains two completely independent 56-bit DSP processors, essentially housing a high-powered delay pedal and a high-powered reverb pedal in a single box.
