Recently, I've started alternating between my main instrument, the bass, and Electric and Acoustic guitar. However, the equipment I currently have doesn't meet all the needs of the church's repertoire. At the church, we play directly into the PA system, and to begin with, I don't have an amp simulator. So I put together this setup with cost-effectiveness in mind, utilizing the pedals I already have, and for the pedals I don't have yet, prioritizing Brazilian-made options and pedals that I can afford with the money from selling some of the pedals I already own. Since I enjoy discussing setups, I'll leave the link to the Reddit post, as this is quite a nerdy conversation hahahaha.

The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.

Geddy Lee tritt seit der „Test for Echo“-Tour 1996 ohne Verstärker und Lautsprecher auf der Bühne auf und bevorzugt stattdessen große Haushaltsgeräte. Um seine Ausrüstung für neue Projekte zu optimieren, entwickelte Geddy zunächst gemeinsam mit Tech 21 einen Signature SansAmp, den GED-2112. Diese anspruchsvolle Zusammenarbeit beinhaltete die Verdichtung einer Rackladung an Equipment auf einer einzigen Rackfläche. Geddy dazu: „Der GED-2112 ist im Grunde die Fortsetzung meines langjährigen Ansatzes für Basssound. Ein ‚tiefer, klarer‘ Klang gepaart mit dem ‚kantigen Crunch‘, den ich vom SansAmp RPM erreiche – alles in einem Gerät.“

Der GED-2112 Rackmount führte ein neues Konzept für paralleles Pre-Amping ein – mit zwei separaten internen Vorverstärkern. Dieses Konzept wurde auch beim kompakten SansAmp YYZ-Pedal übernommen, um die Mischung der beiden Signalwege zu vereinfachen. Der SansAmp DI-2112 vereint das Design eines Rackmount-Pedals mit der Mobilität eines Pedals und bietet ein weiteres neues Format, das sowohl auf dem Studio-Tisch als auch auf einem Amp-Topteil zu Hause ist.

Die Drive-Vorverstärkersektion basiert auf dem vielseitigen SansAmp RPM und bietet ein breites Spektrum an Klangmöglichkeiten. Die Deep-Vorverstärkersektion bietet satte, kernige Sounds. Geddy Lee has been performing without onstage amps and speakers since the Test for Echo Tour in 1996, favoring major household appliances instead. Wanting to streamline his gear for new projects, Geddy initially partnered with Tech 21 to design a Signature SansAmp, the GED-2112. This challenging collaboration involved distilling a rackload of equipment into a single rackspace. According to Geddy, “The GED-2112 is really a continuation of my long-time approach to bass tone. A ‘deep clean’ tone coupled with the ‘edgy crunch’ I get from the SansAmp RPM now all in one box.”

The GED-2112 rackmount introduced a new framework for Parallel Pre-Amping –having two separate internal pre-amps. Following this concept, the compact SansAmp YYZ pedal adapted the architectural structure to simplify blending the two signal paths. Merging the design of the rackmount and the portability of the pedal, the SansAmp DI-2112 offers yet another new format that is designed to be equally at home on a studio desk-top as well as an amp-top.

The Drive pre-amp section is based upon the versatile SansAmp RPM, for a wide range of sonic possibilities. The Deep pre-amp section offers thick, meaty tones. Saturation goes from clean in lower settings to increased harmonics and tube-like compression in higher settings. You can use either section independently or blend them externally direct to a mixing board as well as to two amplifiers.

Each Geddy Lee Signature SansAmp offers Geddy’s core sound and the versatility for many different styles.

Mit dem JHS Pedals Summing Amp habst du die Möglichkeit, zwei Eingangssignale in einem Ausgangssignal zu mischen. The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". Der DPC.micro Gen4 funktioniert als Standalone-Gerät, zum Schalten von drei separaten Pedalen oder Signalketten oder als MIDI-gesteuerter Loop-Expander für Ihr Rig.

Jeder Loop kann per MIDI-CC-Nachricht oder Programmwechsel-Nachricht gesteuert werden. Der DPC.micro Gen4 speichert bis zu 120 Preset-Kombinationen für den sofortigen Abruf über MIDI.

Der DPC.micro Gen4 ist auch als Unterputzversion ohne Fußschalter erhältlich. Die Unterputzversion verfügt über einen Programmiertaster zur Auswahl der Loops und zum Speichern von Presets, der sich seitlich neben dem MIDI-Eingang befindet.

The DPC.micro works as a standalone device, to switch three separate pedals or signal chains, or as a MIDI-controlled loop expander for your rig.

Each loop may be controlled using a MIDI CC message or program change message, and the DPC.micro can store up to 120 preset combinations for instant recall over MIDI.
The DPC.micro is also available in an under-board mount version with no footswitches. The under-board version features a programming pushbutton to select the loops and save presets, located on the side next to the MIDI input.

Die JHS Colour Box V2 ist ein Preamp / DI-Box nach dem Vorbild legendärer Neve Studio-Konsolen. Das Pedal wurde entwickelt um den authentischen Sound eines Instruments (oder Mikrofons) am Direct-In der Mischpulte zu reproduzieren, dabei bietet die Colour Box V2 alle Features der beliebten V1-Version und kommt zusätzlich mit einer Vielzahl an Verbesserungen und neuen Features, die das Pedal zu einem perfekten Allrounder und Always-On Pedal für alle denkbaren Instrumente und sogar für Sänger machen. Zu den neuen Features zählen eine erweiterte EQ-Sektion, ein Hi/Lo Schalter für massiven, cleanen Headroom und die Möglichkeit 48V Phantom-Power an Kondensator-Mikrofone weiterzugeben. Die Gain-Sektion (Rot) bietet Regelmöglichkeiten Master, Pre-Vol und Step. Master kontrolliert das Gesamt-Volume des Pedals, Pre-Vol arbeitet als Gain-Regler zwischen den beiden internen Gain Stages und bietet bei Bedarf eine Verzerrung, die von leichten Break-Up-Sounds bis zu Fuzz reicht. Der Step-Regler verändert das Gain der Preamp Stages in fünf Schritten. Der Hi/Lo Schalter verändert den cleanen Headroom des Pedals, der -20 dB Pad Schalter passt den Input bei Bedarf an Mikrofone mit einem hohen Ausgangspegel an. Die EQ-Sektion (Blau) wurden neben den bekannten Regler für Treble, Middle und Bass (+/- 17 dB Cut / Boost in jedem Band) um drei Shift-Regler erweitert, die den Frequenzbereich der einzelnen Regler anpassen. Die Hi-Pass-Sektion wird über den Kippschalter aktiviert. Um das Pedal so flexibel wie möglich zu halten steht ein kombinierter XLR/TRS Input zur Verfügung.

The JHS Colour Box V2 has all the same functionality of the popular V1 version with many new and improved additions like expanded EQ controls, a Hi/Lo switch for massive clean headroom, and the ability to pass phantom power to your condenser mics. The Gain section in red has three controls: Master, Pre-Vol, and Step. The Master volume controls the overall volume of the unit. The Pre-Vol controls the amount of gain between the two internal gain stages. This acts as a "drive" or "gain" control, adding more grit, distortion, and even fuzz as you increase the gain. The Step control increases the gain of each preamp stage in five stages. Rotating the Step knob from left-to-right will increase the gain by the following: 1st is +18 dB, 2nd is +23 dB, 3rd is +28 dB, 4th is +33 dB, 5th is +39 dB. The JHS Colour Box V2 has a new Hi/Lo switch to control the amount of clean headroom you have available. In the Lo mode, you will easily be able to get ultra clean sounds without breakup. Lo Mode is excellent for tone shaping when distortion is not needed. In the Hi mode, the Colour Box V2 will distort much more readily, giving you a broad spectrum of overdrive, distortion, and fuzz sounds. In addition to the Hi / Lo gain switch, there is a -20 dB pad switch on the right side of the Colour Box V2. This function only works when in XLR input mode and can help tame the volume for high output microphones. The EQ section in blue has three new Shift controls correlating to its standard Treble, Middle and Bass controls. The Shift knobs adjust the range of frequencies that the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs control. The center frequencies for the Shift knobs are Treble 10kHz, Middle 1kHz, and Bass 120Hz, while the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs boost or cut with +/- 17 dB of control. If you want to boost high-mid frequencies, turn the Mid Shift knob to 3 o'clock or above and increase the Middle knob above 12 o'clock. If you want to cut upper treble frequencies, turn the Treble Shift knob to 3 o'clock or above and set the Treble knob below 12 o'clock. The Shift knobs give you precision control over the EQ for anything you put through the Colour Box V2. The Hi-Pass section is enabled by the toggle switch below the Hi-Pass knob. Just flip it up to engage the Hi-Pass knob, which spans from 60Hz to 800Hz with a 6dB per octave slope. The Colour Box V2 has a combination XLR and 1/4" input jack to use either an instrument or microphone. Select your input with the input selector switch on the right side of the pedal labeled INST/XLR.
