This compact bass board is designed for a player who wants versatile overdrive and distortion options, precise tone shaping, and full control over dynamics without excess noise. Each pedal is chosen to keep the bass signal strong, clear, and flexible for any amp or mixer setup.

The bass enters the Ibanez Pentatone PTGATE, a noise gate that ensures the clean signal remains tight and controlled and also provides convenient input access on the board. Immediately after it, the signal passes through the JHS Pedals Little Black Buffer. This always-on buffer is especially important when using a bass with passive pickups: it stabilizes the impedance, preserves high-end clarity, and prevents signal loss caused by long cable runs and multiple pedals later in the chain. Placing the buffer early ensures a consistent, full-range signal reaches all subsequent effects.

From there, the signal flows into the DigiTech DF-7 Distortion Factory. Although originally designed as a guitar pedal, the DF-7 works exceptionally well on bass thanks to its powerful EQ section, which allows the low end to be preserved and shaped instead of being lost. The pedal offers seven distinct drive and distortion types in a single unit: Ibanez TS-9, DOD Overdrive/Preamp 250, Boss DS-1 Distortion, Pro Co Rat, Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, DigiTech Metal Master, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff. This makes the DF-7 a highly versatile source of gain, covering everything from light overdrive to aggressive distortion and fuzz textures while remaining controllable in a bass context.

After the DF-7, the signal passes through a second Ibanez Pentatone PTGATE, which helps keep higher-gain sounds quiet and controlled before hitting the main processing stage.

Next, the signal reaches the Darkglass Alpha·Omega Photon, the core component of this board. It provides three presets: clean, Alpha distortion, and Omega distortion. The Alpha distortion emphasizes low-end frequencies with a smooth, rounded character, while the Omega distortion provides more upper frequencies, higher gain, and harmonic richness. The Photon also includes a compressor and cab simulator, shaping the signal for a consistent, powerful sound whether routed to an amp or directly to a mixer.

From the Photon, one signal goes directly to the mixer, while another is routed through the Ibanez Pentatone PTEQ, a flexible EQ that only affects the amp signal. It allows precise tone shaping for any amplifier and stage environment while keeping the mixer signal unchanged, ensuring the bass sits perfectly in the mix.

Power comes from the isolated MXR M 239 Mini Iso-Brick, with quick access via the RockBoard Mini Mounting MOD DC, all mounted on the RockBoard Duo 2.1.

This board delivers versatile overdrive and distortion tones, clear or slightly pushed low-end, and a powerful, defined bass sound - all while keeping noise low and signal integrity high. Each pedal has a specific role, creating a compact and flexible bass rig.

Die wohl beste Geheimwaffe, von der du wahrscheinlich noch nicht wusstest, dass du sie brauchst! Gerade wir Pedal-Nerds laufen Gefahr unseren Sound mit endlosen Pedalketten in den Ruin zu treiben. Der Feind heißt Kapazität, ein Problem das bei zu langen Kabelwegen undn ich zuletzt schlechten Schaltungen auftritt und das Signal High End kostet und es schwach und charakterlos klingen lässt. Ein Trugschluss, der dies noch unterstützt is die Annahme dass True Bypass immer gut ist, denn ganz stimmt dies leider nicht. Der Little Black Buffer kommt genau hier ins Spiel und versorgt dein Rig mit genau der richtigen Eingangsimpedanz, damit du am Ende einen klaren, natürlichen Sound hast, der klingt als hättest du dich direkt in den Amp gestöpselt.

This may be the greatest weapon you didn’t know you needed. For those of us who are a little “pedal happy” there can be some downfall to our tone. When running a pedal board with more than one or two effects, something called “capacitance” happens. This natural problem happens due to the amount of cable or line that your signal has to travel through, not to mention bad switching systems in certain pedals. The result is a very audible amount of high-end loss, weak signal, flabby bass and uncharacteristic pickup behavior in guitars. Another problem is the assumption that all “true bypass” is good. This isn’t true and actually can be worse than imagined. This is where the “Little Black Buffer” steps in providing the perfect input impedance to your rig and giving you the final result of clear, natural tone that sounds like you're plugged straight into your amp.

Mit einem kontinuierlich veränderbaren Q-Regler für jedes Band, der eine größere Vielfalt an Klangkreationen ermöglicht, bietet er noch präzisere Klanggestaltungsmöglichkeiten. Darüber hinaus sorgt die ±9V Stromversorgungstechnik für eine hohe Headroom. Damit eignet sich der parametrische Equalizer nicht nur für E-Gitarren, sondern auch für Signalquellen mit höherem Pegel wie E-Bässe und Keyboards.

The Pentatone Equalizer is a standalone version of the 5-band equalizer section in the Ibanez Pentatone Preamp. Adding a continuously variable Q control on each band, which allows for a wider variety of sound creation, enables even more detailed sound creation. Furthermore, the ±9V power supply circuitry provides a wide headroom. That makes the parametric equalizer suitable for not only electric guitars but also higher-level output signal equipment such as electric bass guitars and keyboards.

GE-7 Equalizer

The Snow White Autowah (SWAW) circuit is based on a 1991 BJF rack mount remote wah circuit and is tuned like a real wah. The circuit was redesigned with envelope controls and built into small size pedal. It has very fast tracking and accuracy rarely found on auto wahs/ envelope filters. With the four knobs, you can have total control of the effect. SWAW works both with guitar and bass and you can fine-tune the pedal to suit your instrument, your playing style and your taste of tone.
The pedal has a unique decay control for the filter frequency fall speed. You can set it to be fast for wah effects on every note, or slower for a more traditional auto wah sound.

The Carl Martin Headroom is the most simple to operate reverb pedal on the market…with a couple extras. This purely analogue ‘real spring’ reverb has two identical identical channels, each with tone and level controls to select the depth and tone of your reverb. This board is designed for a guitarist who needs a tight, powerful high-gain tone, a transparent or slightly pushed clean tone, and lush atmospheric effects. Every pedal is chosen to keep the signal strong, defined, and flexible for any setup - amps or mixers.

The guitar signal enters the RockBoard MOD 5 (Cab SIM + DI) first, then flows into the JHS Little Black Buffer, keeping the tone consistent and strong from the very start of the chain.

Then the Digitech Drop handles tuning shifts, followed by the TC Polytune 3 Noir to always show the actual tuned pitch after the Drop.

The Dunlop KH95 Wah is routed directly into the RockBoard MOD 5, providing expressive wah control without extra patching.

A gentle squeeze comes from the MXR Super Comp, and the TC Electronic Sentry noise gate keeps all high-gain stages perfectly quiet.

The drive path begins with the Boss SD-1, adding a focused boost and tightening the front of the tone. The signal then moves into the Boss JB-2, which serves as a light or medium overdrive. After that, the chain reaches the high-gain section controlled by the One Control True Bypass Looper: when activated, the JHS Buffered Splitter feeds both the Seymour Duncan Palladium and the Friedman BE-OD in parallel, and the JHS Summing Amp blends their outputs into a single, powerful signal. This setup provides a wide, detailed modern distortion whenever needed, while the JB-2 remains the lighter, more dynamic gain option earlier in the chain.

From there, the chain goes into the Mesa Boogie 5-Band Graphic EQ for precision shaping before the ambience block: Boss RV-6 provides spacious reverb textures. After the RV-6, the signal goes into the JHS Mute Switch - a simple, instant kill function to cut all sound immediately after the reverb. It mutes the main output for quick, clean signal stops when playing into a single amp or mixer.

Power comes from the isolated MXR Mini Iso-Brick, with quick power access via the RockBoard Mini Mounting MOD DC, all mounted on the RockBoard QUAD 4.1.

The One Control Minimal Series Stereo 1 Loop Box (MSS1LB) is a single loop switcher made for a stereo setup with two amplifiers or running directly into the mixer for recordings or live performances. All the jack connections on the MSS1LB (input, output, effects loop send and return) support TRS stereo plugs. The Stereo 1 Loop Box features a M/S switch to toggle between mono and stereo operation. If the mono input signal is transformed into a stereo signal by the effects pedals connected to the effects loop, the output will be stereo as well. The switching mode can be set to either 'Normal' or 'Rapid'. In the N position ('Normal'), the switch functions as a latching-type switch that will switch the loop on or off every time the footswitch is pressed. In the R position ('Rapid'), the switch becomes a momentary switch that engages the loop only while the footswitch is pressed.

The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". This can also be used with overdrives so that they are not pushing each other as in series, but sit atop one another in parallel. Another use is combining fuzz and compression in parallel so the fuzz isn't getting choked by the compression. The Summing Amp gives you the ability to use effects together in completely new ways that you may never have imagined and can open up new and inspiring sounds with your old effects.
