The TC Electronic PolyTune 2 pedal tuner is an absolute must-have for every guitarist. With the help of the polyphonic tuning engine, all strings of the electric guitar can be tuned simultaneously and precisely. Guitars with a tremolo system in particular are easier to control using the polyphonic function: The tension ratio of all strings to each other becomes visible and the influence on the other strings when one string is tuned. Beim Hoof Fuzz hat sich EarthQuaker Devices vom klassischen, „russischen“ Big Muff Pi inspirieren lassen. Das Hoof Germanium/Silizium-Hybrid-Fuzz erzeugt ein natürliches und obertonreiches Sustain. Das Klangspektrum reicht von dreckigem Overdrive bis zu monströsem Fuzz. Der Shift-Regler verändert als „Geheimwaffe“ die Frequenz-Ansprache des Tone-Reglers, ausgehöhlt klingende „Scooped-Mids-Fuzz-Sounds“ sind hiermit ebenfalls möglich. Das Hoof Fuzz ist voll analog aufgebaut, verfügt über einen True Bypass und wird in Handarbeit in Ohio/USA hergestellt. Das Hoof V2 verfügt über einen geräuschlosen, relais-basierten Soft-Touch Fußschalter. Audiosignale haben keinen Durchgang, wenn das Gerät nicht mit Strom versorgt wird.

The Hoof Fuzz is based on character of the classic green Russian muff. The Hoof germanium/silicon hybrid fuzz delivers a smooth, natural and harmonically rich sustain. It is capable of creating everything from dirty and organic overdrive to monstrous fuzz madness. The Shift control is its secret weapon of the Hoof. It changes the frequency response of the tone control, primarily on the treble side, making possible hollow sounding “scooped mids fuzz tones”. The Hoof features all analog operation and True Bypass. Hand built in Ohio, USA. The Hoof V2 uses silent relay-based soft touch switching. Audio will not pass without power.

Das Boss DD-500, ein High End Delay des japanischen Effektgeräte-Herstellers, kann mit 12 Delay-Programmen, 32 Bit/96 kHz Signalverarbeitung, bis zu 297 Speicherplätzen und einem Looper aufwarten und ist mit dieser Ausstattung naturgemäß in einer etwas höheren Preisklasse angesiedelt. Allein diese Eckdaten sind einigermaßen imposant, aber die Marke Boss und der Mutterkonzern Roland haben bereits in der Vergangenheit – zum Beispiel mit dem DD-20, dem Space Echo oder dem Tera Echo – bewiesen, dass man durchaus auch in unterschiedlichen Preiskategorien in der Lage ist, uns Gitarristen mit amtlichen Delay-Sounds zu versorgen.

The Boss DD-500 is one of the few Boss pedals which are, because of their size, less pedalboard friendly. Therefor, it offers up to 10 seconds maximum delay time, tap tempo and tape emulation.
Other features of the stereo pedal that allows to choose a true bypass or a buffered processing, are modulation, expression pedal and midi input.
Furthermore, you can lead different delays (modulation models) on several channels and run the pedal serial as well as parallel.
All things considered, the 9V pedal with integrated looper provides an extremely extensive menu including tone shaping options.
Nevertheless, the Boss DD-500 which is still produced today is not really legendary and its sound is quite sterile. This is why this digital delay is a 3 of 10 on my cult factor scale.

The Protein 2 in 1 Overdrive is a collaboration between David Brown and guitarist/producer Adam Sniegowski.  After years on the road and in the studio using backline amps that could be very inconsistent,  Adam came to Dave wanting to create a dual overdrive that would sound great with any backline he encountered. They started with two drives they loved, stacked well together, but had a few inherent issues. Dave set out to fix those issues without losing the soul of the originals.

Poolside conversations while staring at your own reflection. The depths of which shall never be known, at least not for another couple thousand years. So it goes.

Before the reflection, is the experience. Before phenomena, or even noumena, is that which is undefinable. That which has never been heard, that which will never be heard again and that which has always been heard but never listened to.

K-field (Simulation mathematics), an  undefined, two-dimensional, non-linear field where past and future forces interact at irregular intervals. Shallow Water generates this k-field by randomly modulating a short time delay to create unexpected shifts in pitch. The result is this non cyclical vibrato/chorus/flanger-type thing favouring old tape flavours.

The water is shallow on this side of the pool. Do not dive and you will not drown.

Thermae is constructed around four reissued versions of the legendary MN3005 bucket-brigade delay chip, that can be sequenced, modulated, and overworked to reveal all the character analog delay has to offer. 

It lets you push these chips beyond their intended purpose to generate melodies, reveal hidden textures and explore impossibly long delay times (up to 32 seconds). Round that out with synth-inspired controls, and you’re set to filter, glide and step your way somewhere new.
