Mit dem E-Bow, der seit Mitte der 70er Jahre erhältlich ist, gibt es bereits ein Werkzeug, das die Saiten per Magnetfeld beliebig lang in Schwingung versetzt, indem es über die gewünschte Saite gehalten wird. Oder den Sustainer von Fernandes, ein Pickup, der ebenfalls die Saiten zum Schwingen bringt, wenn er per Schalter dazu aufgefordert wird. Und natürlich muss beim Umbau der Gitarre einer der vorhandenen Tonabnehmer dem Sustainer weichen.

The Violet Distortion is a new take on distortion/overdrive brought to you from the collaborative minds of Josh Scott and highly influential Brazilian guitarist Lari Basilio! Using this pedal is like adding a new and ultra-flexible distortion channel to your favorite clean amplifier. The unique three-band EQ sets the Violet apart from other popular JHS distortion pedals. JHS placed the Midrange control before the distortion circuit as a powerful pre-amp distortion shaping tool. This single design choice allows the Violet to achieve hundreds of tones, from overdrive to full-on modern distortion. Die weiterentwickelte Overdrive-Schaltung, erstmals in der limitierten Gold-Version zu hören, verleiht mit ihrem einzigartigen Germanium-Distortion-Schaltkreis einen geschmeidigen Hochtonbereich und einen satten Mitten-Antrieb, genau abgestimmt auf den optischen Sustainer. Neben den Reglern für Volume und Sustain verfügt die Philosopher’s Tone 2 über einen parallelen Clean Blend-Regler, mit dem Musiker ihren ursprünglichen Klang mit dem Kompressions-/Sustainer-Effekt mischen können, solange der Grit-Schaltkreis deaktiviert ist. Diese Technik stellt den natürlichen Anschlags-Attack wieder her und bewahrt Dynamik selbst bei extremem Sustain. Wenn der Grit-Schaltkreis aktiviert ist, umgeht der Blend-Regler automatisch die Kompromisse der Originaleinheit und verleiht deinem Sound eine farbenfrohe Verzerrung in Germanium- oder Silizium-Modus. Dieses nichtlineare Dioden-Clipping reicht von subtiler Overdrive bis zu überquellender Verzerrung – ganz ohne unerwünschtes Feedback. Ein Treble-Regler direkt vor dem Master Volume gewährt ±6 dB bei 2 kHz zur Feinabstimmung des Frequenzgangs. Mit True-Bypass-Schaltung und internen 18 V-Versorgungsrails bietet die Philosopher’s Tone 2 maximalen Clean-Headroom, ideal für heiße Pickups, aktive Bässe, Synths und andere Line-Level-Quellen. Läuft an 9 V DC.

Elevating the groundbreaking optical compression of the original Philosopher’s Tone to a new plane of tonal enlightenment, the Philosopher’s Tone 2 is a world-class compressor/sustainer with footswitchable Grit, allowing for more versatility than ever before. Featuring a refined implementation of the overdrive circuit first heard in the limited-edition Gold version of this iconic compressor pedal, the unique germanium distortion found in the Philosopher's Tone 2 delivers smooth top end and rich midrange response, tailored to perfectly match the characteristics of the optical sustainer driving it. In addition to Volume and Sustain controls, the Philosopher’s Tone 2 features a parallel clean Blend knob that allows musicians to mix their instrument’s original tone with the compressor/sustainer effect when the Grit circuit is bypassed. This mixing technique restores natural pick-attack and allows clean settings with extreme sustain to remain dynamic and musical. When the Grit circuit is engaged, the Blend knob is automatically bypassed, circumventing the compromises of the original unit and imparting a colorful distortion to your sound in both Germanium and Silicon modes. This nonlinear diode-clipping can range from subtle overdrive to overflowing distortion, all without unwanted feedback. A Treble control located just before the master Volume provides 6db of cut or boost at 2kHz for fine-tuning the frequency response of the effect. The Philosopher’s Tone 2 features true-bypass switching and internal 18V power rails for maximum clean headroom that is ideal for use with hot pickups, active bass, synthesizers and other line-level sources. The Nero pedal combines a unique fuzz circuit with a built-in Gladio SC, activating both circuits simultaneously for a stacked drive effect. It features a "Comp" knob for compression management, altering overall compression, and two independent bias controls ("voices") for a range of fuzz and overdrive tones. Notably, Nero allows for flexible gain control, maintains high input impedance for pedalboard versatility, offers constant compression adjustment, and seamlessly transitions between gritty fuzz and full overdrive with a footswitch. It also achieves gated fuzz and nice cleanup effects under specific conditions.
