Description

With the ST-2's variable level and sustain controls, you can drastically “squeeze” the input signal to create smooth, clean, bell-like notes that last for days. In addition, the ST-2 has a direct on/off switch. When activated, the Direct switch mixes a dry input signal at the same volume as the compressed signal, eliminating the attack-altering characteristics common to other compressors. By manipulating these three controls, the ST-2 can be used for a variety of applications. When the Sustain control is set to maximum, the ultimate “chicken picking” guitar tone can be achieved. When Sustain is set to minimum and the Level control is set above 12 o'clock, the ST-2 can be used as a clean booster, perfect for overdriving the front end of an amplifier. By varying the sustain and level controls further, you can achieve anything from subtle compression to signal limiting to effects that change the tone, similar to the SV-2! With its full frequency response, the ST-2 is ideal for use with all instruments, including guitar, bass and keyboards.
