PITCH SHIFTER
Description
This utility stompbox is a complex multi-voice pitch-shifting synthesizer and digital distortion pedal. Its specialized three-voice architecture takes design inspiration from the classic Schumann Electronics PLL and EarthQuaker Devices Data Corrupter circuits. At its foundation, a high-gain digital fuzz voice utilizing hex inverters shapes the input signal into an aggressive square wave. A rotary-controlled sub-octave voice generates deep glitchy textures tracking down to negative three octaves, while a dedicated phase-locked loop (PLL) synthesizer generates erratic tracking harmonies up to positive three octaves. The interface features variable modulation rate controls alongside toggle selectors for vibrato and glide parameters to introduce chaotic, self-oscillating pitch textures.Media
