Flint ist ein Studio-Qualitäts-Effektpedal, das genau diese klassische Kombination liefert. Wir haben unsere Lieblings-Tremolo- und Reverb-Schaltungen aus der Vergangenheit intensiv analysiert, ihre klanglichen Feinheiten untersucht und sie in unseren aufwendig entwickelten Algorithmen detailgetreu nachgebildet. Flint ist im Grunde zwei Pedale in einem – Tremolo auf der einen, Reverb auf der anderen Seite.

The magical combination of tremolo and reverb is the earliest example of a perfect guitar effects marriage. First pioneered within historic amplifiers of the 1960s, this harmonious coexistence has made its way onto countless records and performances — from early surf, swampy bayou blues, spaghetti westerns and film noir soundtracks, to modern day indie rock. As music moves forward, guitarists continue rediscovering the inspiration provided by this perfect pair.

Flint is a studio-class effects pedal that delivers this classic combination. We carefully studied our favorite classic tremolo and reverb circuits, examined the sonic complexities and faithfully accounted for every detail in our hand-crafted algorithms. Flint is essentially two pedals in one, with tremolo on one half and reverb on the other.

The greatest pieces of studio gear are the ones that add something special to the sound of an instrument, going beyond the job they were designed for and enhancing anything that passes through the circuit. One such piece is the UA 610 preamp, which was the inspiration for the DCX Boost. This retro console preamp is famous for adding vintage, analogue colour to a signal, as well as precise control of level and EQ. The SILKY GROOVE is a new compressor in FREE THE TONE’s standard product line. It is based on the SILKY COMP which was highly appreciated in our Custom Series. While inheriting SILKY COMP’s sound and enhancing functions and ease of use, the SILKY GROOVE newly incorporates a dry mix circuit requested by many guitarists and bassists.

Considering the phase between the effect and dry signals, we carefully designed this circuit to avoid the phenomenon in which these two sounds can be heard separately when mixed together. With the new circuit you can get a well blended sound which cannot be obtained from conventional mix circuits. This dry mix circuit can provide you with a broad range of sound from a heavily compressed effect sound without any dry signal to a fast and strong signal comprised of only the dry sound.

FM-1V Fire Mist

In the “BLACK VEHICLE” we implemented a newly developed HTS (Holistic Tonal Solution) circuit for electric bass guitars. The HTS circuit, a synonym for FREE THE TONE products, prevents a thin sound, makes the texture of the sounds from the unit uniform when it is turned on and off, and feeds the received signals to the following circuit in an optimal condition.

In addition, newly designed EQ circuits and MIX circuit are also installed in the “BLACK VEHICLE”. The TREBLE and BASS EQ circuits affect only the drive sound. The unprocessed original signal (dry sound) is mixed with the drive sound in the MIX circuit. The EQ and MIX circuits minimize signal phase error, prevent the sound from being buried when the drive amount is increased, and realize an ultimate drive sound that has a clear pitch and contour of sound.
