Dynamics are a crucial part of playing music. When controlled they bring music to life, but uneven or wild playing can ruin a performance. We put our expertise to work creating The Bends Compressor, a studio-quality stompbox that tames wild volume spikes without altering your tone. Drive and Recovery controls let you dial in the perfect amount of compression to complement your playing style and extend sustain, while the Blend control lets you mix in the dry signal to maintain your natural pick attack. The Amp Jewel LED changes color from white to pink along with your playing to help show when the compression circuit is engaged and how long your signal is affected.

With time-based effects such as delay or reverb, the delay rate is crucial to whether they sound good. The Reflecting Pool Delay/Reverb pedal combines the two classics in a clearly laid out chassis that can be easily integrated into any pedalboard. The state-of-the-art DSP generates dense, complex algorithms that allow the Reflecting Pool to authentically represent classic sounds as well as new creative effects that are out of this world. Tune the sound with the Type, Variation and Quality controls. The time toggle activates the rhythm. You can set the right tempo with the Tap Tempo footswitch. The Reflecting Pool Delay/Reverb circuit was designed and built by our Fender team. The feather-light housing is made of sturdy anodized aluminium. You already know the Amp Jewel LED from the classic Fender amps. Thanks to switchable LED lighting, you can easily read the controls even on a dark stage.

The Leslie effect with rotating speakers is familiar from the organ and is standard in modern music. With the Pinwheel, you can now swirl your guitar sound in the same way. There is a choice of three different rotary speaker voices including vibrato, each switchable to slow/fast. The integrated overdrive gives the sound a creamy, lush texture. You can control the intensity intuitively via velocity - the harder you play, the stronger you hear the effect.

From single-coil to humbucking pickups the output varies, potentially causing a nightmare when it comes to dialing in your tone with multiple guitars through the same rig. If you're using one guitar through a complex pedalboard, your signal strength can also suffer due to cable capacitance. Enter the Level Set Buffer, a brilliant buffer pedal that lets you easily swap guitars without negatively affecting your tone. This original design features Level, Hi-Freq and Load controls to adjust the signal, along with a Main Mute footswitch for silent tuning. The tuner output lets your tuner be always on without interrupting your signal path.

A silicon fuzz pedal for modernists less bothered by the a hallowed land of Germanium, we were especially taken with the versatility afforded by the Blend control. Combined with a great range of drive it would make an ideal first fuzz for newcomers or those yet to be convinced. And it turns out Chris Buck is a fan of The Pelt too.

Fender has expanded their line of ruggedly built pedals considerably over the past two years. New to their line of tube-based pedals, the MTG: LA Tube Distortion joins their two other tube-based pedals (see our review of the Tube Tremolo). And while overdrive pedals may seem to be a dime a dozen, this particular pedal was designed in collaboration with famed amp builder, Bruce Egnater (If you don’t know who Bruce Egnater is, visit the Egnater Amps website and read up).

A high-gain distortion featuring an always useful boost with separate footswitch (delivering up to 12db of gain), this pedal sports a lot of tone shaping goods, including a four way EQ section (with a “Hi Treble” knob on top of your regular Treble one, which is a low pass filter that can tame the sizzling highs) and Bite and Texture toggle switches – the latter delivering symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping for the true tone connoisseurs.

We helped generate the classic guitar tones that inspired players to create new music, and now with the Santa Ana Overdrive, we've brought our expertise to stompboxes. Armed with FET technology, this pedal lets you dial in sounds varying from "just a little hairy" all the way to thick, fully saturated overdrive. The flexible tone controls unlock a wide range of sonic flavors. This pedal cleans up with the guitar's volume control, just like our famous amplifiers.

The onboard 3-band EQ lets you shape your tone to cut through a mix while the Frequency switch lets you select the middle frequency range, ideal for shaping your tone precisely.

The legendary STEREO CHORUS FLANGER was the first TC Electronic product. Ever! Our founder, who is also a musician, was annoyed with the quality of effect pedals available back in the 70s – they were just so noisy. So, being an engineer, he set out to design a pedal that would live up to his expectations and high standards. That was how the SCF was born all the way back in 1976, and the rest is history as they say. But hey! No one said the story was over. On the contrary, we’re adding to that history. In fact, it has come full circle and we’re really entering a new era of the SCF tales. Please meet SCF GOLD – a legendary pedal to be!
