Damit boostest oder kappst du gezielt die Mitten. Der Thick-Switch macht seinem Namen alle Ehre und dickt den Klang insgesamt stark an.

A silicon fuzz pedal for modernists less bothered by the a hallowed land of Germanium, we were especially taken with the versatility afforded by the Blend control. Es gibt viele Pedale, die einen Röhren-Breakup simulieren. Wir haben uns entschieden, keinen Röhren-Distortion nachzubauen, sondern echte Vakuum-Röhren einzusetzen. Das Herz des kompakten MTG Pedals besteht aus einer NOS (New Old Stock) US-made 6205 Vorstufenröhre. Ein 3-Band-EQ mit Tight-Schalter sowie zuschaltbarem Boost und eigenen Level- und Boost-Reglern ermöglicht kreatives Klangdesign mit dem Original-Röhrensound.

Fender has expanded their line of ruggedly built pedals considerably over the past two years. New to their line of tube-based pedals, the MTG: LA Tube Distortion joins their two other tube-based pedals (see our review of the Tube Tremolo). And while overdrive pedals may seem to be a dime a dozen, this particular pedal was designed in collaboration with famed amp builder, Bruce Egnater (If you don’t know who Bruce Egnater is, visit the Egnater Amps website and read up).

MTG Tube Distortion

Du wünschst dir einen richtig brutalen High-Gain-Tone, den du vielseitig feintunen kannst? Das Full Moon Distortion Pedal zaubert dir abgefahrene Verzerrungs-Varianten. Unter dem Texture-Schalter stecken symmetrische/unsymmetrische Clipping-Effekte. Der Bite-Schalter liefert den nötigen Biss und verschiebt die oberen Mitten und Obertöne, damit man deinen Anschlag mit dem Plektrum deutlicher hört. Für den Feinschliff sorgt der 3-Band-EQ, wobei du die Höhen zusätzlich mit dem Regler für Hi-Treble abstimmen kannst. Mit dem zweiten Fußschalter bekommst du bei Bedarf knurrige +12 dB am Ende des Signalwegs dazu.

A high-gain distortion featuring an always useful boost with separate footswitch (delivering up to 12db of gain), this pedal sports a lot of tone shaping goods, including a four way EQ section (with a “Hi Treble” knob on top of your regular Treble one, which is a low pass filter that can tame the sizzling highs) and Bite and Texture toggle switches – the latter delivering symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping for the true tone connoisseurs.

Mit dem Santa Ana Overdrive hat Fender ein Zerrpedal der Extraklasse im Programm. Für das Schaltungsdesign ist der Bass- und Elektronikspezialist Aguilar verantwortlich. Herausgekommen ist ein vielseitiges Overdrive/Boost Pedal mit überzeugendem Sound. Die Schaltung basiert auf einer J-FET Stufe, die mit intern hochtransformierter Spannung betrieben wird. Dadurch wird ein sehr großer Headroom erreicht, das Pedal reagiert sehr gut auf das Volumepoti der Gitarre und die Anschlagsstärke. The EHX Neo Holy Grail is an update to our wildly popular compact digital reverb, the Holy Grail. It contains three reverb algorithms: SPRING, HALL, and PLATE. All three algorithms were designed and tailored for the electric guitar, but they work equally well on most instruments and voices.

The SPRING algorithm is a re-creation of the classic spring reverbs that are found in many guitar amplifiers. The HALL algorithm simulates the reverberations heard in large spaces such as a concert hall or cathedral. The PLATE algorithm is an emulation of a metal plate reverb commonly found in high end recording studios during the 1960s and ‘70s. The PLATE reverb is a very smooth, tonally balanced sounding reverb that sounds great on many different instruments, especially vocals. True bypass switching ensures your tone won’t be affected when the pedal is bypassed.
