Das Neunaber Audio Echelon Echo ist ein warm klingendes, subtil moduliertes Delay mit gesättigten Höhen, das an Old School Tape-Delays erinnert. Dank der maximalen Verzögerungszeit von 1000ms lassen sich eine Vielzahl von Delay-Effekten erzielen. Der Bypass-Schalter dient gleichzeitig als Tap-Tempo-Schalter und sorgt für ein übersichtliches und kompaktes Layout, das selbst auf überfüllten Pedalboards viel Platz bietet. Im Tap-Tempo-Modus kann man mit dem Time-Regler aus 6 verschiedenen Beat-Unterteilungen wählen. Die Betonung liegt auf Qualität und deshalb hat er einen „Dry Through“, der jegliche Latenz eliminiert.

The Neunaber Audio Echelon Echo is a warm sounding, subtly modulated delay unit with saturated tops, reminiscent of old school tape delays. A wide range of delay effects are achieved thanks to its maximum 1000ms delay time. The bypass switch cleverly doubles as a Tap Tempo, keeping the layout neat and compact, leaving plenty of room, even on crowded pedalboards. Once in Tap Tempo mode, the Time knob then allows you to select from 6x different beat subdivisions. The emphasis is on quality and it therefore has a ‘dry through’ which eliminates any induced latency.

Durch Gedrückthalten der #-Taste wird der Dual-Modus aktiviert, der der erzeugten Harmonie eine zweite Stimme hinzufügt, um atemberaubende 3-stimmige Harmonien zu erzeugen, wenn sie mit dem trockenen Signal gemischt werden.

INTERVAL selects from one of 10 harmonic interval options (see below). The MIX and VOL knobs adjust the wet/dry mix and output volume respectively. Holding down the # button enters Dual Mode which adds a second voice to the harmony produced for stunning 3-part harmonies when mixed with the dry signal.

The 3 mode Tone control lets you tailor your sound to fit into any pocket no matter how massive or small.

Controls on the Pico POG include dedicated volumes knobs for the SUB OCTAVE, OCTAVE UP, and DRY voices. These three controls act as a mixer for infinite possible voice mixes. The TONE knob features three modes controlled by the FILTER button. In Tone Mode, the knob acts as a tilt-EQ with a flat frequency response in the center, more treble and less bass as you turn the knob clockwise, and less treble and more bass as you turn the knob counterclockwise. In this mode, the EQ is applied to all 3 voices. In Low Pass Filter mode, the knob cuts highs in the Sub and Octave Up voices, while High Pass Filter mode cuts lows in the Sub and Octave Up Voices.

Das Electro Harmonix Oceans 12 ist ein Stereo-Reverb-Pedal, das, wie der Name schon erahnen lässt, mit gleich 12 verschiedenen Reverb-Modi den Spieler beglücken möchte. Damit hat das Oceans 12 im Gegensatz zum seinem ebenfalls von uns getesteten Vorgänger, dem Oceans 11, noch einen Algorithmus mehr an Bord. Viel entscheidender ist aber die Möglichkeit, gleich zwei Reverbs parallel oder in Serie zu schalten, und das in Stereo.

The EHX Oceans 12 is the Oceans 11’s big brother with even more reverbs and functionality. It features two simultaneous, independent, stereo reverb engines, series and parallel control for the dual reverbs, 24 presets and advanced I/O allowing for stereo in/out or mono send/return with pre and post reverb options. The pedal also includes a new Tide Control for stereo image alteration, a Lo-fi Control, an infinite attenuation control and an input jack for external expression and 3-button footswitch control.

A Tails switch provides a choice of whether the reverb effect fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is switched to bypass. In most settings the pedal is also capable of producing infinite reverb which can be played over with a different reverb effect.

The Oceans 12’s reverbs are:
• ROOM – two modes: reverb algorithms modeled after a lively room and a spacious performance hall
• SPRING – two modes: vintage 1962 Fender® 6G15 tube reverb emulation and the spring algorithm from the EHX Holy Grail
• PLATE – two modes: two emulations of the smooth, metal plate reverb often used in high-end recording studios during the 1960s and ‘70s
• REVERSE – two modes: a reverse reverb effect as well as true reversed echoes
• ECHO – three modes: a digital delay with various echo rhythms feeding into a plate reverb
• TREM – three modes: a classic, periodic volume envelope with various shapes applied to both the wet and dry mix of a hall reverb
• MOD – three modes: combinations of chorus and flange reverbs that create rich reverb tails
• DYNA – three dynamic, experimental reverb algorithms: swell, gate and duck
• AUTO-INF – three modes: auto-infinite reverb (w/optional chorus or flange) that “listens” to your playing and crossfades to a new reverb wash upon detection of newly struck notes.
• SHIMMER – two modes: two configurations of a rich octave-shifted reverb wash
• POLYPHONIC – two modes: two configurable bi-directional pitch shifts that add dimensionality to the reverb tail
• RESONANT – two modes: reverb excited by tunable resonators and configurable self-oscillating filters on the reverb tail

Das Catalinbread Reverb-Pedal hat das gleichnamige Programm des Yamaha FX500 Multieffektgeräts aus den 90er-Jahren zum Vorbild. Maßgeblichen Anteil hatte dieser Ambient-Reverb am Sound der britischen Band Slowdive auf ihrem Album Souvlaki, das heute unter Fans des sogenannten Shoegaze-Stils als absoluter Klassiker gilt. Und das, obwohl die Signalqualität des FX500 laut diverser Aussagen im Netz mit heutigen Maßstäben nicht mithalten kann.

With its roots in that patch, the Catalinbread Soft Focus is intended to be an instant shoegaze button, while addressing the most glaring issues of the original unit: no mix control, a sub-par preamp, and a ghastly tone-sucking bypass signal. At its heart, the Soft Focus is a heavily modified plate reverb with adjustable time, which is subsequently split into three paths. One path contains a multi-voiced chorus modulator, another features a well-appointed octave-up mixed in with the reverb, and the third path leaves the reverb untouched.

Note - The Soft Focus runs from 9 to 18 volts using a standard DC center-negative power supply for pedals. Make sure you’re using a supply that provides at least 100mA. Running the Soft Focus at 9V will sound great, but if you want a bit more output, a dry signal boost and increased headroom, try any voltage you like up to 18V! The Soft Focus does not run on batteries.

Indeed, causality breaks down when feedback loops are involved. The effect nestled within the cause, without cause, and so on. There is no beginning or end, at least objectively. And so, who eats the last hors d'œuvre, when time is space and silence is noise

The Hors d'Oeuvre? Active Feedback Loop then serves different opportunities to create and listen to: bipolar feedback of any combination of sound processing devices, and signal difference of input and return signals.

It is intentionally an introduction.

Der Fairfield Circuitry 20% More ist ein experimenteller Slew-Limiting-Distortion-Effekt, der eine aus modularen Synthesizern bekannte Schaltung zur kreativen Klangformung von Gitarre und anderen Audiosignalen nutzt. Anstelle normaler Verzerrungsabschnitte begrenzt ein Slew-Limiter die Geschwindigkeit von Spannungsänderungen, was zu einem einzigartigen Mix aus Tiefpass-Filterung, resonanten Dreiecksoszillationen, Pseudo-Wavefolding-Effekten und JFET-Clipping führt. Zusätzliche Regler für Blend, Feed, Low-Pass Gate, Oktav-Up/Down-Schalter und ein Envelope-Follower ermöglichen eine breite Klangpalette von ungewöhnlicher Verzerrung bis hin zu synth-artigen Fuzz- und Filtereffekten.

The Fairfield Circuitry 20% More is an experimental slew-limiting distortion pedal that uses a circuit normally found in modular synths to creatively shape guitar and other audio signals. Instead of normal distortion clipping stages, it applies a slew limiter to control how fast voltage changes, giving a unique combination of low-pass filtering, resonant triangle wave oscillations, pseudo-wavefolding, and JFET clipping. Additional controls include blend, feed, low-pass gate, octave up/down switches, and an envelope follower, creating a wide palette from quirky distortion to synth-like fuzz and filtering effects.
