Der EarthQuaker Devices Plumes basiert auf dem legendären grünen Overdrive Pedal, das seit Jahrzehnten als Industriestandard gilt. Im Zusammenspiel mit einem guten Röhrenverstärker erzeugt der Plumes eine warme, transparente Sättigung. EarthQuaker verzichtet auf den bewährten JRC4558 OpAmp und die BJT Buffer und ersetzt sie in der Schaltung durch Low Noise JFET OpAmps für einen präziseren Sound mit deutlich geringerem Grundrauschen. Mit 10 Megaohm Eingangsimpedanz bietet das Pedal einen wunderbar klaren, detaillierten Sound. Der Arbeitsbereich des Tone-Reglers wurde ebenfalls angepasst um mit einem satteren Low End ein breiteres Spektrum an möglichen Sounds zu bieten. 

Zusätzlich bietet der Plumes drei wählbare Clipping-Modi um den Sound des Pedals an möglichst viele Stilrichtungen und unterschiedlichstes Equipment anpassen zu können. Mode 1 bietet symmetrisches Clipping, basierend auf einem Paar LEDs. Das Setting bietet den sattesten Crunch und den klassischen Sound eines übersteuerten Röhrenverstärkers. Mode 2 ist ein Clean Boost ohne Soft Clipping, perfekt um den Clean Sound im Mix nach vorne zu bringen oder den Preamp eines Verstärkers in die Sättigung zu fahren. Mode 3 nutzt asymmetrisches Clipping mit Silizium Dioden und klingt am ehesten nach einem originalen Screamer. Im direkten Vergleich liefert das Setting aber mehr Output und klarere Clean Sounds.

Darüber hinaus verfügt der Plumes auch über EarthQuaker Devices 'Soft Touch' Flexi-Switch-Funktion, mit der du im Handumdrehen zwischen Momentary Modus und traditionellem Latching wählen kannst.

The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes is based on the legendary green overdrive pedal, which has been the industry standard for decades. In combination with a good tube amp, the Plumes creates a warm, transparent saturation. EarthQuaker Devices relinquishes the trusted JRC4558 OpAmp and BJT Buffers and replaces them with low noise JFET OpAmps for a more robust and precise signal with a significantly lower noise floor. With 10 megohms of input impedance, the pedal provides a stronger signal with more clarity and chime. EarthQuaker Devices adjusted the cutoff of the tone control to deliver a more useful range of travel with more booming bass on the low end without sacrificing the cutting midrange and bright top end.

In addition, the Plumes offers three selectable clipping modes to ensure that it will work with a wide variety of gear and playing styles. Mode 1 is symmetrical clipping based on a pair of LEDs. This is the crunchiest setting the Plumes has to offer. When played through a clean amp, it will deliver that classic crunchy valve amp tone. Mode 2 is a clean boost without soft clipping and with straight OpAmp drive, perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front or driving the preamp of an already overdriven amp into breakup saturation. Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement like an original screamer but with more output and clean clarity.

The Plumes features EarthQuaker Devices relay-based 'soft touch' Flexi-Switch Technology for both momentary and latching footswitch operation.

1312 Distortion V3

Das Pitchfork von EHX ist neben dem Whammy und dem TC Electronic Sub ‚N‘ up das wahrscheinlich beliebteste Pitch-Pedal, das es auf den Pedal-Boards der Welt gibt. Von einem Bekannten, der sich ausgiebig mit dem Löten von Pedalen beschäftigt, habe ich mir sagen lassen, dass der Bau eines wirklich sauber arbeitenden und verlässlich trackenden Pitch-Pedals alles andere als leicht ist. Und das kann man sich gut vorstellen: Viele Pitch-Pedale tracken irgendwie seltsam, klingen entweder im Clean- oder Gain-Bereich jeweils zu matschig und undifferenziert oder können mit bestimmten Frequenzbereichen nicht gut arbeiten. Selbst das von mir hochgeschätzte Red Panda Tensor hat viele Stärken – die Klarheit des Pitch-Effekts ist es nicht.

Get the wobbly, disjointed, decidedly un-hifi sound of recording to cassette. Without the need to record to cassette. Or record at all!
The unique, dynamic vibrato responds to your playing strength and can get fairly extreme if you want. Adjust the 'Sensitivity' control to dial in the intensity of it's response, from subtle to almost complete tape stop!

Adjust the character control to give you anything from clean and jangly, to saturated and wooly tones. It changes the response of the tape saturation and tone circuits in one go, making it really easy to dial in the kind of cassette vibe you're after.

Minim is a reverb, delay, and reverse paired together. The reverb features pseudo-harmonic tremolo to give character to the trails, the delay is lightly modulated for a chorusing effect, and the reverse can run at normal or double speed. Reverb runs into delay, and reverse can be placed first or last in the signal chain, allowing a one-stomp-shop of ambience.

The Lover

Dies ist ein seltsames, lautes Pedal. Es ist ein Wolf im Schafspelz – ein boshafter, unbändiger Unhold, der für kurze Momente zwischen unkontrollierbaren Wutanfällen innehält. Es ist ebenso schön und sensibel wie übertrieben und lärmend. Es ist Delay und Chorus, doch zugleich keines von beidem, mit einem permanenten Grundrauschen, Dreck und Seele; es moduliert sich selbst nach der Stärke des Eingangssignals und wird unberechenbar.

This is a weird, noisy pedal. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing – a wicked, unruly beast briefly contented between fits of uncontrollable emotional rage. It’s equally beautiful and sensitive as it is excessive and rowdy. It’s a delay and a chorus, nor really is it either, with a permanent noise floor, dirt, humanity, it modulates itself based on the strength of the affected signal, it becomes unpredictable.

Big Talker. Den kennen wir alle. Er weiß einfach nicht, wann er den Mund halten soll. Angenehm ist anders – auf Partys nervt er, vor großem Publikum kann er sogar furchteinflößend sein. Sind sie selbstsicher oder einfach nur sozial unbeholfen? Das werden wir nie erfahren, denn wir kommen nicht mehr zu Wort. Ein Doppel-Tremolo-Pedal, bei dem zwei Tremolos in Serie schalten. Weicher Rechteck-LFO Trem #1 mit Speed- und Control-Regler oder Zufallsschwingung. Rechteck-LFO Trem #2 mit Speed-, Depth-Regler und Hüllkurven-Modulation. EXP-Eingang steuert die Geschwindigkeit des zweiten Tremolos. Soft-Switching-Relais-Bypass.

Big Talker. We all know one. They just don’t know when to zip it. Awkward to be around at parties, potentially terrifying stood in front of a large audience. Are they big headed and self assured or just socially anxious? We’ll never find out because we can’t get a word in.
