Der Frequenzgang wird über einen fußgesteuerten Zahnstangen-Potentiometer-Mechanismus über den gesamten Regelbereich stufenlos moduliert. Die Klangcharakteristik wechselt nahtlos zwischen warmer Tiefe und prägnantem Höhenbereich für dynamisches Rhythmus- und Solospiel. Eine feste Pedalpositionierung ermöglicht statische Resonanzfilterungen für klassische Cocked-Wah-Sounds. Ein mechanischer True-Bypass bewahrt das unverfälschte Signal und verhindert Höhenverluste im deaktivierten Zustand.

Delivering classic vocal sweeping and expressive filtering, the wah pedal incorporates the analog circuitry of the Crying Tone in a traditional mechanical treadle format. Frequency response is continuously modulated via a foot-controlled rack-and-pinion potentiometer mechanism across the full sweep range. Tonal character shifts seamlessly between low-end warmth and bright treble bite to provide dynamic rhythm and lead articulation. Stationary foot positioning allows static resonant filtering for dedicated cocked-wah sounds. Mechanical true bypass switching preserves unaltered signal routing and prevents high-frequency loss when deactivated.

Dabei steht Forza für Vorwärts. Unlängst hat sich der Begriff jedoch auch in gitarristische Equipmentgefilde eingeschlichen, allerdings eher in der Bedeutung Kraft oder Macht, und zwar in Form eines kleinen Bodentreters der Firma Seymour Duncan.

While many overdrives emphasize particular frequencies, the Forza gives you a more even spread across the frequency range. The voicing is very open, and it sounds just as good through a clean channel or hitting an already-overdriven amp. In addition to up to 37dB of gain there’s a three-band EQ for controlling the lows, mids and high end, and the Level control has plenty of range to allow use as a clean boost too. The Forza uses a glass diode, back-to-back stack overdrive circuit. It features True Bypass switching and is made in the USA.

Das Pitchfork von EHX ist neben dem Whammy und dem TC Electronic Sub ‚N‘ up das wahrscheinlich beliebteste Pitch-Pedal, das es auf den Pedal-Boards der Welt gibt. Von einem Bekannten, der sich ausgiebig mit dem Löten von Pedalen beschäftigt, habe ich mir sagen lassen, dass der Bau eines wirklich sauber arbeitenden und verlässlich trackenden Pitch-Pedals alles andere als leicht ist. Und das kann man sich gut vorstellen: Viele Pitch-Pedale tracken irgendwie seltsam, klingen entweder im Clean- oder Gain-Bereich jeweils zu matschig und undifferenziert oder können mit bestimmten Frequenzbereichen nicht gut arbeiten. Selbst das von mir hochgeschätzte Red Panda Tensor hat viele Stärken – die Klarheit des Pitch-Effekts ist es nicht.

Einer der berühmtesten Sounds in der gesamten Rockmusik ist der berühmte „verzerrte, aber transparente“ Ton, der mit den in den 1960er/1970er Jahren in Großbritannien hergestellten Röhrenverstärkern mit einem kompakten Pedal erzeugt wurde. Unser neuer Diamond Peak Hybrid Overdrive nimmt sich eine Scheibe davon ab, indem er echte Rocksounds erzeugt, die sich auf den „Rand der Verzerrung“ konzentrieren, während er gleichzeitig wichtige Mittenkomponenten hinzufügt, die jede Band oder jeden Mix durchdringen.

Unsere neueste Version des Diamond Peak Hybrid OD hat den Zugang zum Fußschalter verbessert, indem er vorne rechts auf dem Pedal platziert wurde, während es auch einfacher ist, die Batterie bei Bedarf zu wechseln. Das Design wurde verbessert und die Schaltung wurde feinabgestimmt und erweitert, um mit einer breiteren Palette von Gitarren und Verstärkern gut zu funktionieren.

Basierend auf unserem Major Overdrive haben wir die Verstärkung verringert und den Headroom der Schaltung erweitert. Die Verzerrung im Signal hat Präsenz und ist gleichzeitig leicht verstärkt. Jede Nuance des vom DPHO erzeugten Klangs ist sehr detailliert und ermöglicht es, jede Note komplexer Akkorde zu hören, selbst bei stärkeren Gain-Einstellungen. Der Ton ist wunderschön ausgewogen mit einer knackigen Schneide, die durch die unmittelbare Anschlagsdynamik entsteht. Jeder Anschlag des Plektrums oder der Finger auf den Saiten ist zu hören und zu spüren. Der Diamond Peak Hybrid OD ist ein sehr dynamisches Pedal, das deinem Sound mit der Lautstärkeregelung, der Picking-Dynamik und dem Ton deiner Gitarre mehr Ausdruck verleiht. One of the most famous sounds in all of rock music is the famous “distorted but transparent” tone that was created with the 1960s/1970s era UK made tube amps with a compact pedal. Our new Diamond Peak Hybrid Overdrive takes a page from this book, crafting real rock tones focused upon that “brink of distortion” style of overdrive while adding crucial midrange components designed to cut through any band or mix.

Our latest version of the Diamond Peak Hybrid OD has improved access to the footswitch by placing it to the front right spot on the pedal, while also making it easier to change the battery when needed. The art has been upgraded, and the circuit has been fine-tuned and expanded to work well with a wider range of guitars and amplifiers.

Based on our Major Overdrive, we dropped the gain and expanded the headroom of the circuit. The distortion in the signal has presence while being light gain. And when you raise the gain gradually, the tone stays powerful and does not get muddy. The TONE control allows you to dial in the top end to match with a wide range of amplifiers and guitars. If you turn it down on lower settings, a darker tone is created that can be useful for bright guitars and amps.

Each nuance of the sound created by the DPHO is finely detailed, with a sound that allows you to hear every note of complex chords, even with heavier gain settings. The tone is beautifully balanced with a crisp cutting edge made by immediate attack dynamics. You can hear and feel every touch of the pick or finger on your strings. Die Pitch Fork von Electro Harmonix in unserem aktuellen bonedo-Test beweist einmal mehr, dass auch Pitch-Shifter Effektpedale inzwischen für jedes Budget erschwinglich sind. Dieser Effekt, der in den Achtzigern in einigen berühmten Gitarrenaufnahmen auftauchte, war damals für uns “normale” Musiker kaum erschwinglich. Aber diese Zeiten haben sich glücklicherweise geändert. Pitch-Effekte sind inzwischen im Effektangebot vieler Hersteller zu recht günstigen Kursen zu finden.

The EHX Pitch Fork transposes an instrument’s pitch over a +/- three octave range and features three modes which allow the pitch to be transposed up, down or both, simultaneously. The pitch shift amount can be set to a fixed interval or continuously varied by an expression pedal or control voltage.

Dem beliebten MXR Ten Band EQ hat der amerikanische Hersteller ein Facelift verpasst und präsentiert ihn unter der Modellnummer M108S in einem neuen, leichteren Gehäuse mit True-Bypass-Schaltung, einer effektiveren Rauschunterdrückung und zwei Ausgängen. Geblieben sind das große Frequenzspektrum von 31,25 Hz bis 16 kHz, getrennte In- und Output-Levels sowie der Betrieb mit 18 Volt für mehr Headroom.

Das EarthQuaker Devices White Light V2 ist die Neuauflage des bekannten White Light Overdrives und ist auf 2000 Stück weltweit limitiert. Das White Light V2 orientiert sich an klassischen vintage-Dirt-Pedalen wie dem OD250 oder Distortion+, ohne diese zu imitieren und gibt damit einem alten Sound eine neue Stimme. Dabei ist das White Light V2 viel dynamischer, offener und  harmonisch umfangreicher als die klassischen Overdrives, mit denen es seine Abstammung teilt.
Mit dem Weight-Regler kann die Sättigung und die Bässe eingestellt werden, was eine Fülle von klanglichen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bietet. Der Gain-Regler reicht von einem cleanen bis zu einem schönen knackigen Overdrive-Ton, und es steht genügend Ausgangslautstärke zur Verfügung, um den Eingang eines jeden Verstärkers zum Glühen zu bringen. Mit dem Compression-Schalter kann man den Charakter der Verzerrung feinabstimmen; wähle zwischen einem offenen Overdrive mit mehr hohen Mitten und Biss oder mehr Kompression mit weniger Biss und einem flacheren Mittenbereich. Bei dieser limitierten Neuauflage handelt es sich um den bekannten White Light-Schaltkreis, jedoch in einem jetzt standardgroßen Gehäuse mit oben angebrachten Buchsen und Flexi-Switch-Technologie.

The EarthQuaker Devices White Light V2 is the reissue of the well-known White Light Overdrive and is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide. The White Light V2 takes its inspiration from classic vintage dirt pedals like the OD250 or Distortion+ without imitating them, giving an old sound a new voice. At the same time, the White Light V2 is much more dynamic, open and harmonically rich than the classic overdrives with which it shares its lineage.
The Weight control adjusts saturation and bass, offering a wealth of tonal shaping possibilities. The Gain control goes from clean to a nice crunchy overdrive tone, and there is plenty of output volume on tap to flame-broil the input of any amplifier. The Compression switch lets you fine-tune the character of the distortion; choose between an open-voiced overdrive with more high mids and bite or more compression with less bite and a flatter mid response. This limited reissue is the same White Light circuit but in our now standard-size enclosure, with top-mounted jacks and Flexi-Switch-Technology.
