The Double Muff is an all-analog distortion pedal that incorporates two identical 1969 Muff Fuzz circuits within a single unit. It features two distinct operating modes: Single mode utilizes one circuit for a touch of "milky" overdrive, while Double mode cascades both circuits in series for high-gain saturation. In Double mode, the controls become interactive, with one adjusting the gain of the first circuit and the other controlling the overall output level. This pedal is specifically designed to emulate the sound of vintage amplifiers with slightly torn speakers and is highly responsive to guitar volume adjustments. Unlike the four-transistor Big Muff Pi, this circuit is based on simpler two-transistor Muff Fuzz architecture.
