COMPRESSOR

ORLA is a compressor developed by effettidiclara. Completely hand built, assembled and painted in Italy. Parallel VCA compressor with recovery of a clean sound component. With the DRY control set to minimum, it behaves like a normal compressor with a very fast attack, slow release and high compression ratio for a very powerful effect. At low compression settings it is useful for smoothing signal peaks and boosting harmonics, at medium settings it intervenes more strongly by equalizing the sound and smoothing the attack, while at high settings it produces more extreme, very squashed and slightly overdriven sounds. The DRY control is the strength of the pedal; it adds a clean component to the compressed signal to recover attack and bass frequencies that are naturally filtered out by the compression. In contrast to a blend control, it works more linearly and controllably over the entire control range. It can act as a SUSTAINER at very high compression levels, but by restoring attack and definition with the DRY control, the musician's natural dynamics are not affected. Thanks to this control, it can also be used as a gain BOOST for other drivers, maintaining an articulate and detailed sound. The input PAD switch is useful for active instruments (basses and acoustic guitars) or very high signals to prevent saturation of the input stage. The wide frequency response leaves the bass range unaffected, so it can be used indiscriminately for both bass and guitar. The true bypass is an electromechanical relay type controlled by a click-free switch. In addition to silent switching, the advantages are longer durability and reliability, as the system is less susceptible to mechanical wear than the 3PDT switch.
