Das Catalinbread Reverb-Pedal hat das gleichnamige Programm des Yamaha FX500 Multieffektgeräts aus den 90er-Jahren zum Vorbild. Maßgeblichen Anteil hatte dieser Ambient-Reverb am Sound der britischen Band Slowdive auf ihrem Album Souvlaki, das heute unter Fans des sogenannten Shoegaze-Stils als absoluter Klassiker gilt. Und das, obwohl die Signalqualität des FX500 laut diverser Aussagen im Netz mit heutigen Maßstäben nicht mithalten kann.

With its roots in that patch, the Catalinbread Soft Focus is intended to be an instant shoegaze button, while addressing the most glaring issues of the original unit: no mix control, a sub-par preamp, and a ghastly tone-sucking bypass signal. At its heart, the Soft Focus is a heavily modified plate reverb with adjustable time, which is subsequently split into three paths. One path contains a multi-voiced chorus modulator, another features a well-appointed octave-up mixed in with the reverb, and the third path leaves the reverb untouched.

Note - The Soft Focus runs from 9 to 18 volts using a standard DC center-negative power supply for pedals. Make sure you’re using a supply that provides at least 100mA. Running the Soft Focus at 9V will sound great, but if you want a bit more output, a dry signal boost and increased headroom, try any voltage you like up to 18V! The Soft Focus does not run on batteries.

Gespielte Noten aus dem Halo 'tanzen rhythmisch' und erzeugen fast eine Reverb-ähnliche Diffusion. Diese Noten werden mit Tape-ähnlichen Effekten wie Modulation, Sättigung und Kompression zusammengehalten. Das Pedal bietet neben Andy Timmons Signature Delay Tone die Möglichkeit eigene Sounds zu kreieren und als Preset zu speichern. Der einfache, übergangslose Wechsel zwischen Side A und Side B mit frei regelbaren Settings vereint dabei praktisch zwei separate Delay Effekte in einem Pedal. Zusätzlich zu Andys charakteristischem 'Halo'-Sound bietet das Pedal vier weitere Rhythm-Modes: Viertelnoten, punktierte Achtel, Bucket Brigade (BBD) und ein klassisches Multi-Head Tape Echo. Atemberaubende Stereo-Effekte und eine makellose Klangqualität werden durch Regler für Saturation, Tone und Shelving-Filter weiter verbessert, um das Keeley Halo zum 'ultimativen' Delay Effektpedal zu machen.

Andy Timmons' mysterious sounding 'Halo' effect is a modulated dual echo sound that has long been kept a secret by the tone wizard himself and he spent decades combining and crafting the sounds you can get from the Keeley Halo effects pedal. Notes from the Halo dance rhythmically, almost creating a reverb diffusion. Those notes are held together with tape-style effects like modulation, saturation, and compression. The pedal comes loaded with Andy Timmons' signature delay tone and you can program your own sounds and save them as presets. Easily bounce between Side A and B on the fly, essentially giving you two delay pedals in one. In addition to Andy's signature 'Halo' sound, there are numerous other rhythmic delays including: quarter note, dotted 8th, stereo rack mount analog delay, and a vintage multi-head tape echo. Stunning stereo and pristine sound quality are further enhanced with controls for saturation, tone, and shelving filters that give you the ultimate delay pedal.

Der Pico Atomic Cluster ist ein kompaktes „Spectral Decomposer“-Pedal von Electro-Harmonix, das mittels eines speziellen Algorithmus die Frequenzauflösung Ihres Instruments reduziert und damit Oszillationen erzeugt. Mit dem ATOMS-Regler steuern Sie, wie viele gleichzeitige resonante Oszillationen ablaufen; der SPEED-Regler bestimmt, wie schnell die Oszillationen erneuert werden (kann auch über Tap-Tempo eingestellt werden). Weitere Regler sind VOL (Ausgangspegel), BLEND (Mischverhältnis trocken/effekt) und eine MODE-Taste, die zwischen SHARP (sofortige Übergänge) und SMOOTH (weiche Übergänge) wechselt. Ziel sind Rhythmen, lo-fi Glitches, arpeggioartige Klänge bis hin zu Ambient-Pads und Synth-Sounds.

The Pico Atomic Cluster is a compact “spectral decomposer” pedal from Electro‑Harmonix that uses a unique algorithm to reduce the frequency resolution of your instrument signal and create oscillations. With the ATOMS knob you control how many simultaneous resonant oscillations play at once; the SPEED knob sets how quickly the oscillations are refreshed (which also can be set via tap tempo). Additional controls include VOL (output level), BLEND (wet/dry mix), and a MODE button toggling between SHARP (instant transitions) and SMOOTH (fade-transition between oscillations). It aims to deliver anything from rhythmic lo-fi glitches and arpeggio-type sounds to ambient pads and synth-like textures.
