The Engine

The Vibe Machine V-2 features the same optical system as the V-1, but the pedal’s a little different from the V-1 and it can sound different. We collected your feedback over the years and that is the main reason for V-2’s existence. So all tonal options from the V-1 are here, but we added 3 new ‘set and forget’ side controls to the V-1 arsenal: CHORUS, GRIT and CUSTOM. All controls have their factory settings! If you want, check the manual in the support tab for more detailed descriptions, but to begin playing you don’t need the manual, just plug in and enjoy!
The CHORUS trimmer adjusts the depth of vibe modulation so the user can adjust the swirl/watery/chewy character of the chorus sound. If you play in a band, we recommend that this trimmer is set to about 12 o’clock (like on the V-1, where it is fixed internally) because on this setting your guitar will cut through the mix better. For bedroom level set this trimmer to 2 or 3 o’clock. The CHORUS trimmer also affects the low end frequencies of the Chorus throb. This trimmer is one of the biggest improvements between the V-2 and V-1 pedals.

Vibe Machine V2

The Module 4 is our highly versatile take on a classic vintage compressor – Dan Armstrong’s Orange Squeezer from the ‘70s. Some people may know this, but two interesting facts contribute to the unique tone, player’s feel and iconic character of this type of compressor. Direct cable connection between the electric guitar (pickup) and the Orange Squeezer’s (OS) front-end circuit results in a specific EQ change – a shift in the mid and top end frequencies. This provides a pleasant vintage tonal character, similar to low impedance inputs on some other types of gear. On top of that, the frequency shifting is controlled by the player’s pick attack; you can feel this warm dynamic tone response while playing. In other words, the OS unit acts as a kind of envelope followed EQ. This combination of unique signal EQ ‘treatment’ followed by a precisely biased vintage JFET compressor is the key to this historic tone and feel. This is the reason why guitarists love this unit and why it’s used on so many great records in rock and roll history. The Module 4 has the same spirit in its analog core. But, it’s equipped with several useful, colorful and practical options, all packed into our new enclosure line.

Module 4

V-3 features the same options as the V-2, so it’s basically the same product in the context of secondary options. However, we played around with the complex opto-system a lot. The main difference between V-3 and V-2 is in the modulation EQ. V-2 modulates just a slight part of the main tone (mid-range focused modulation), while V-3 blends in nicely with the main tone and modulates it without changing the EQ. V-3 has a wider modulation and brings more depth.
