The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Utilizing the MOD slot on all new RockBoards® (except the DUO series), they provide various cable connections to fit a wide variety of needs as a convenient patchbay. With the RockBoard® MODs, you can permanently connect your pedals underneath your board and organize all connections to and from your effects setup in one convenient module. The RockBoard® MODs provide a central access point from your instrument to your amp, as well as your power supply via IEC, and a 2.1 x 5.5 barrel thru power connector. The RockBoard® MOD 1 V2 is a pass-thru box especially designed for guitar and bass players. Unser Testmodell, das FS22 Ekoverb-Pedal, ist mit einem Preis von 98 Euro im Portfolio der Marke schon eher in der Oberklasse angesiedelt. Der Zwitter aus Hall und Echo kann dafür auch mit drei unterschiedlichen Delay/Reverb-Algorithmen und insgesamt acht einstellbaren Parametern aufwarten. Darüber hinaus sind Tap-Tempo und eine Freeze-Funktion an Bord. Klingt schon mal nicht schlecht, aber ob es auch tatsächlich klingt, erfahrt ihr in diesem Test.

The Flamma Ekoverb features three combinations of delay and reverb effects that consist of a Reverse Delay/Swell Reverb setting, Analog Echo Delay/Mod Reverb, and a classic Analog Delay/Shimmer Reverb combination. The level and tone of the delay and reverb can be modified as well as the timing and feedback of the delay or the decay and pre-delay of the reverb. This lets you set the delay or reverb effect of each setting to maximum volume or completely off, allowing you to only use either the delay or reverb effect.

Die 'Amplitude' Sektion des Pedals basiert auf dem klassischen 'White Face' Distortion Pedal, die Schaltung wurde jedoch um drei wählbare Clipping-Modi erweitert. Die erste Position (No Diode OpAmp Drive) bietet einen satten Drive bei maximalem Volume. Die zweite Position nutzt zwei Silizium-Dioden und eine LED in einer asymmetrischen Clipping-Konfiguration und erzeugt einen leicht komprimierten, smoothen Crunch, der an einen übersteuerten Verstärker erinnert. Die dritte Position nutzt zwei Silizium-Dioden und erzeugt den klassischen 'White Face' Sound. Die Octave-Up Sektion arbeitet komplett analog und lässt sich über einen Regler oder ein optionales Expression Pedal stufenlos mit der Verzerrung mischen. Der monophone Effekt arbeitet am 'saubersten' mit einzelnen Noten oberhalb des 12. Bundes, die über den Neck Pickup gespielt werden. Akkorde erzeugen einen chaotischen, 'scheppernden' Sound. Dreht man den Octave-Regler voll auf erzeugt das Sunn O))) Life Pedal V2 einen dreckigen, wütenden Fuzz-Sound, der an das Super Fuzz erinnert. Die 'Magnitude' Sektion ist ein MOSFET Booster, der Röhrenverstärker in die Sättigung treibt. Der Booster arbeitet komplett clean und fügt dem Signal selbst keine Verzerrung hinzu, bietet dafür aber ein extrem hohes Output Level um das Front End des Amps zu pushen. Der Signalweg geht Octave > Distortion > Boost, dabei lassen sich beide Sektionen unabhängig voneinander nutzen.

The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 offers distortion, boost and an adjustable octave-up effect in a compact effects pedal. The booster works completely clean and adds no distortion to the signal itself, but offers an extremely high output level to push the front end of the amp. The signal path goes Octave > Distortion > Boost, and both sections can be used independently of each other.

MXR knows phasers. The Phase 90's compact size, superior construction, and refined sound put MXR on the map, and it set the standard by which all other phasers are judged. Two years later, MXR released the Phase 45—a mellower version of the effect favored for its ability to easily blend into a band's mix. Now, you can get both iconic circuits in a single pedal while tightening up your pedalboard at the same time. The Phase 95 combines the Phase 45 and Phase 90 circuits in a mini housing with about half the footprint of a standard MXR pedal. The 45/90 switch toggles between the Phase 45 mode's subtle two-stage phasing and the Phase 90 mode's more pronounced four-stage phasing, while the Script switch toggles between two phasing styles. The Phase 95 is set to modern style phasing by default, which relies on feedback to create light harmonic distortion and gives the effect a more accentuated swoosh. Engaging the Script switch removes feedback for a lusher, more subdued sound with higher headroom and greater clarity. The familiar Speed control sets the rate of the effect. The Phase 95 may be small, but it's full of rich phase tones, and it'll take a beating on the road.

Die Firma Roland gibt es bereits seit 1972. Sie stellt unter verschiedenen Markennamen eine Vielzahl an Instrumenten, Verstärkern, E-Drums, Synthesizer etc. her. Für Gitarristen und Bassisten ist dabei vor allem der Name Boss interessant. Unter dieser Marke kümmert sich Roland seit Jahrzehnten mit hochwertigen Effekten um unsere Bedürfnisse. Die Homepage der Company listet allein sieben spezielle Basseffekte auf. Wer gleich eine ganze Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen Effekten sucht, diese gerne auch nach Herzenslust miteinander kombiniert und dabei nicht lauter einzelne Bodentreter mitschleppen möchte, greift zu einem Multieffekt. Auch in diesem Bereich hat Boss gleich drei Geräte zur Auswahl. Der jüngste Spross ist das GT-1B, welches eine Lücke schließen soll, die so manchen Bassisten bislang vor einem Multieffekt hat zurückschrecken lassen – das Problem der einfachen Bedienung! Aufgrund der Funktionsvielfalt gleichen Multieffekte nämlich schnell mal einem Computer und man muss sich nicht selten durch Tastenkombinationen und diverse Untermenüs graben, um Zugriff auf den gewünschten Parameter zu erhalten. Aus diesem Grund brachte Boss schon vor einigen Jahren das ME-50B auf den Markt, was komplett über Drehregler zu bedienen ist. Das Konzept ging zwar auf, allerdings bleibt dennoch eine gewisse Vielfalt bzw. Bandbreite auf der Strecke. Das Boss GT-1B soll nun beide Welten vereinen: Digitale Funktions- bzw. Soundvielfalt und einfache, intuitive Bedienung.
