The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Utilizing the MOD slot on all new RockBoards® (except the DUO series), they provide various cable connections to fit a wide variety of needs as a convenient patchbay. When we released our original Compressor back in 2011, it quickly became a favourite among guitar and bass players alike who were searching for something more than the typical oversimplified controls found on most compressor pedals. Although our original Compressor sounded great on bass (and still does!) we set out to do even better. 

On top of the full range of features and controls normally only seen in high end studio equipment, such as input and gain reduction metering, independent attack and release controls, a mix knob for parallel compression, and an external sidechain insert, we’ve now added a fully variable sidechain high pass filter, and a two position ‘tone + colour’ circuit which adds gentle tone sculpting and harmonic distortion, giving your bass some delicious character.

This board is designed for a guitarist who needs a tight, powerful high-gain tone, a clean or slightly pushed edge-of-breakup tone, and lush atmospheric effects. Every pedal is chosen to keep the signal strong, defined, and flexible for any setup - amps or mixers.

The guitar signal enters the RockBoard MOD 5 (Cab SIM + DI) first, then flows into the JHS Little Black Buffer, keeping the tone consistent and strong from the very start of the chain.

Then the Digitech Drop handles tuning shifts, followed by the TC Polytune 3 Noir to always show the actual tuned pitch after the Drop.

The One Control Patchbay provides an easy way to insert the Dunlop KH95 Wah when needed.
A gentle squeeze comes from the MXR Super Comp, and the TC Electronic Sentry noise gate keeps all high-gain stages perfectly quiet.

The drive path begins with the Boss SD-1, adding a focused boost and tightening the front of the tone. The signal then moves into the HB Rodent, used as a light overdrive for edge-of-breakup textures or a slightly pushed clean. After that, the chain reaches the high-gain section controlled by the One Control True Bypass Looper: when activated, the JHS Buffered Splitter feeds both the Seymour Duncan Palladium and the Friedman BE-OD in parallel, and the JHS Summing Amp blends their outputs into a single, powerful signal. This setup provides a wide, detailed modern distortion whenever needed, while the Rodent remains the lighter, more dynamic gain option earlier in the chain.

From there, the chain goes into the Mesa Boogie 5-Band Graphic EQ for precision shaping before the ambience block: Boss RE-2 and Boss RV-6 providing spacious delay/echo and reverb textures.

After the RV-6, the signal goes into the JHS Mute Switch - a simple, instant kill function to cut all sound immediately after the reverb. It mutes the main output for quick, clean signal stops when playing into a single amp or mixer.

The output is routed through the RockBoard MOD 5 (Cab SIM + DI), making the board ready for two amps or direct-to-mixer setups.

Power comes from the isolated MXR Mini Iso-Brick, with quick power access via the RockBoard Mini Mounting MOD DC, all mounted on the RockBoard QUAD 4.1.

This board delivers crushing gain, transparent or slightly pushed clean tones, and a wide atmospheric space - all while keeping noise low and signal quality high. Every pedal has a specific role, and together they create a flexible, modern, and studio-grade guitar rig.

Mit dem JHS Pedals Summing Amp habst du die Möglichkeit, zwei Eingangssignale in einem Ausgangssignal zu mischen. Dies ist ideal, um Effekte parallel zu betreiben, so dass sie nicht voneinander beeinflusst werden. The Edge verwendete diese Technik beispielsweise in den 80er Jahren mit seinen Delays. Wenn du ein Viertel-Delay und ein Punktierte-Achtel Delay hast und beide gleichzeitig benutzen möchtest, kannst du sie mit dem Summing Amp zusammen führen und die Delays des einen Pedals werden nicht weiter vom anderen verzögert. Er kann auch mit Overdrives verwendet werden damit sich diese nicht gegenseitig pushen. Eine weitere Möglichkeit besteht darin, Fuzz und Kompressor parallel zu kombinieren, damit das Fuzz nicht durch die Kompression zerdrückt wird. Mit dem Summing Amp hast du die Möglichkeit, Effekte auf völlig neue Art und Weise zusammen zu nutzen, die du dir vielleicht nie vorgestellt hast. Und der JHS Summing Amp eröffnet dir mit deinen alten Effekten völlig neue und inspirierende Klänge.

The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". This can also be used with overdrives so that they are not pushing each other as in series, but sit atop one another in parallel. Another use is combining fuzz and compression in parallel so the fuzz isn't getting choked by the compression. The Summing Amp gives you the ability to use effects together in completely new ways that you may never have imagined and can open up new and inspiring sounds with your old effects.

Die wohl beste Geheimwaffe, von der du wahrscheinlich noch nicht wusstest, dass du sie brauchst! Gerade wir Pedal-Nerds laufen Gefahr unseren Sound mit endlosen Pedalketten in den Ruin zu treiben. Der Feind heißt Kapazität, ein Problem das bei zu langen Kabelwegen undn ich zuletzt schlechten Schaltungen auftritt und das Signal High End kostet und es schwach und charakterlos klingen lässt. Ein Trugschluss, der dies noch unterstützt is die Annahme dass True Bypass immer gut ist, denn ganz stimmt dies leider nicht. Der Little Black Buffer kommt genau hier ins Spiel und versorgt dein Rig mit genau der richtigen Eingangsimpedanz, damit du am Ende einen klaren, natürlichen Sound hast, der klingt als hättest du dich direkt in den Amp gestöpselt.

This may be the greatest weapon you didn’t know you needed. For those of us who are a little “pedal happy” there can be some downfall to our tone. When running a pedal board with more than one or two effects, something called “capacitance” happens. This natural problem happens due to the amount of cable or line that your signal has to travel through, not to mention bad switching systems in certain pedals. The result is a very audible amount of high-end loss, weak signal, flabby bass and uncharacteristic pickup behavior in guitars. Another problem is the assumption that all “true bypass” is good. This isn’t true and actually can be worse than imagined. This is where the “Little Black Buffer” steps in providing the perfect input impedance to your rig and giving you the final result of clear, natural tone that sounds like you're plugged straight into your amp.

Die One Control 1 Loop Box wurde als kleinstmöglicher True Bypass Loop Switcher für einen Effekt-Loop entwickelt. Durch die gezielte Optimierung und spezielle Anordnung der Platinen ist One Control weltweit der erste Hersteller, dem es gelang, einen so kleinen True Bypass Looper auf moderner PCB-Basis zu bauen. Das Design wurde mit besonderer Sorgfalt entwickelt, um extrem kleine Leiterplatten zu erstellen, die in das kompakte Gehäuse der 1 Loop Box passen. Neben der geringen Größe wurde die Schaltung auch so entwickelt, dass sie wesentlich robuster und haltbarer ist als vergleichbare Switcher. Die 1 Loop Box kann für viele verschiedene Zwecke genutzt werden. Wenn der 1 Loop im Bypass-Modus arbeitet, wird das Eingangssignal direkt an die Ausgangsbuchse geleitet. Ist das Pedal aktiviert, kommt das Eingangssignal aus der Send-Buchse und das in die Return-Buchse eingespeiste Signal wird an den Ausgang geleitet. The One Control 1 Loop Box was developed to be the smallest possible true bypass loop switcher for one effects loop. With the painstakingly optimization and special arrangement of the PCB boards, One Control is the first manufacturer in the world who has succeeded in building such a small true bypass looper on a modern PCB basis. The design was developed with special care to create extremely small circuit boards that fit into the compact housing of the 1 Loop Box. In addition to the small size, the circuit was also developed to be more robust and durable than comparable switchers. The 1 Loop Box can be used for many different purposes. When the 1 Loop is operating in bypass mode, the input signal is sent directly to the output socket. If the pedal is activated, the input signal is routed to the send socket and the signal going into the return socket is sent to the output. As a result, in addition to the classic application as a true bypass loop switcher, the One Control 1 Loop Box can also be used as an A/B box, mute switch or input selector.

The DS-1 Distortion was introduced in 1978 as part of the second wave of compact pedals.
