Description
The DevTech Audio Powerdriver 18 is a hand-wired, boutique recreation of the legendary late-60s Colorsound Power Boost. It is designed to capture the high-headroom overdrive and massive volume boost favored by guitarists like David Gilmour and Jeff Beck. While the original units required two 9V batteries to achieve their 18V operation, the Powerdriver 18 features an internal voltage doubler, allowing it to run on a standard 9V power supply while maintaining the full 18V dynamic range. It is built with high-grade components, including NOS (New Old Stock) Fairchild transistors and "Tropical Fish" capacitors, to ensure an authentic vintage response that ranges from a transparent clean boost to a fuzzy, aggressive overdrive.Media
