The original Ibanez® Tube Screamer® is one of the most emulated circuit designs of all time and has been pushing amplifiers since it was first released in the late 1970s. While many companies create 808/TS9 style pedals, the TS10® was always a favorite of Brian’s. Capable of anything from light boost to a gritty drive that can send an amplifier into heavily overdriven tones, the Moxie is an ultra-flexible, wonderfully warm and rich pedal but with an extra bite.

Beim DSM & Humboldt Simplifier DLX handelt es sich um eine extrem erweiterte Version des kleinen Simplifiers, der hier bereits Gegenstand eines Tests war. Eine der Besonderheiten an den Geräten der Simplifier-Reihe, die auch gerne Zero Watt Amplifier genannt werden, ist die Zielgruppe, die der chilenische Hersteller ins Auge gefasst hat. Es sind Gitarristen, die mit kleinem Gepäck zum Gig kommen, auf analoge Signalwege setzen und für die deshalb digitale Modeler bzw. Cabinet-Simulationen keine Option sind.

Pedalboard amps seem to be all the rage lately. And I have to admit that I've become increasingly more amicable to getting big tones with less gear. The DSM & Humboldt Simplifier DLX, which delivers a lot of big tones in a single suited-for-pedalboard sized stomp, is the latest iteration of the company's "zero-watt" amp series and features plenty of bells and whistles for the stereo set.

The Bonsai is JHS tribute to one of the greatest pedals ever created  the Tube Screamer. Der JHS Kilt V2 verfügt nach wie vor über den fantastischen Schaltkreis der Vorgängerversion, allerdings mit super wenig Nebengeräuschen, verbesserter Slew Rate für sanfteren, strukturierteren Overdrive mit einem Charakter, der sich noch besser anfühlt als der des originalen Expandora Overdrives auf dem die Schaltung basiert. Der Cut/Flat Kippschalter gibt dir die Option das Low End zu Cutten, für einen beefigeren Sound als ihn der Expandora bietet. G1 und G2 Kippschalter lassen dir verschiedene Zerr-Sounds, von leichtem, transparenten Drive bis hin zur Wand aus Fuzz und Distortion und allem dazwischen. Außerdem verfügt die V2 über die Möglichkeit den G2 Toggle per Red Remote Fußschalter zu aktivieren, sodass du On-the-Fly auf heftigen Overdrive oder Fuzz umschalten kannst!

The JHS Kilt V2 still has the fantastic circuit of the version one, but with super low noise, improved slew rate for a smoother structure and a character that just feels better than the original Expandora. The Cut/Flat toggle switch gives the option to cut the low end frequencies or to have a more beefier sound than the original Expandora and the G1 and G2 toggles let you select various forms of distortion, from light transparent drive all the way to a wall of fuzz/distortion and everything found in-between. Also, the V2 has the ability to switch the G2 toggle with the Red Remote footswitch giving you the opportunity to flip into heavy overdrive or fuzz with a footswitch on the fly!

Building off of the lush, tonal landscapes that the Julia Analog Chorus/Vibrato created, Julianna is an all analog, digital LFO, stereo chorus/vibrato with new expanded features. Julianna is able to produce mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato, to everywhere in between. Familiar controls like Lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato Blend, and selectable LFO wave shapes are all still here, but Julianna employs some new tricks: The Secondary LFO speed, modulation drift, tap/expression control and momentary features will have you commanding all new kinds of sounds not found in traditional chorus pedals.

I love nearly everything about the new Suhr Discovery Analog BBD Delay. It sounds fantastic, and does that smart Chase Bliss Audio thing of Analog Heart with a Digital Control Layer. You can scroll through 127 onboard Presets (via footswitches also) - and through smart filtering and Refine Up/Down controls you can vastly extend the delay time - without experiencing noisy artefacts.
