Description

Built on the open-source Electro-Smith Daisy DSP platform, the device combines a portable electro-mechanical chromatic sampler, lo-fi multi-effects processor, and tape-style varispeed looper into an accessible screenless instrument. Samples can be captured via the built-in microphone, stereo auxiliary input, or internal audio resampling across two octaves of mechanical keyboard switches. The instrument provides 7-voice polyphony along with dedicated controls for sample start/end points, attack/decay envelopes, speed, and direction. Built-in multi-effects include tape saturation with wow and flutter, a multimode resonant filter, and granular delay/reverb diffusion. Originally designed by Chompi Club, the project expanded through official collaborations and direct hardware integration with Chase Bliss. Playback options allow seamless overdubbing, Frippertronics tape degradation, and alternate groovebox firmware functionality.
