Dieser Effekt, der in den Achtzigern in einigen berühmten Gitarrenaufnahmen auftauchte, war damals für uns “normale” Musiker kaum erschwinglich. Aber diese Zeiten haben sich glücklicherweise geändert. Pitch-Effekte sind inzwischen im Effektangebot vieler Hersteller zu recht günstigen Kursen zu finden.

The EHX Pitch Fork transposes an instrument’s pitch over a +/- three octave range and features three modes which allow the pitch to be transposed up, down or both, simultaneously. The pitch shift amount can be set to a fixed interval or continuously varied by an expression pedal or control voltage.

Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus effect pedal, but also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since. Four decades on, the spacious modulated tone of the signature BOSS effect is still loved by musicians everywhere. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were.

Der JHS Pedals Bender gibt Gitarristen den Touch, das Feeling und das Ansprechverhalten eines Vintage Germanium Fuzz mit der Genauigkeit und Beständigkeit von sorgfältig ausgewählten, modernen Silizium-Transistoren. Die Regelmöglichkeiten sind mit Volume, Tone und Attack denkbar einfach. The JHS Pedals Bender is an attempt to recreate one of the most popular Tonebenders of all time: The 1973 MK3 Silver/Orange 'Onomatopoeia' version. The JHS Pedals Bender is a pedal that gives you the touch, feel, and response of the vintage germanium fuzz but with accuracy and consistency of carefully chosen modern silicon transistors. The controls are Volume, Tone, and Attack. Volume sets the overall output level of the effect; turn it up and things get louder. Tone lets you sweep between bright and dark tones so that the Bender works well with a range of different amplifiers and guitars. Attack is the distortion control, the more you turn it clockwise, the more fuzz you create. On the side you will see a 'Mode' button that lets you access a never-before-heard 'JHS Mode'. Push that button for more gain and a mid frequency boost to send you leads soaring through the mix. With higher Attack settings in this mode, you will feel the fuzz slightly gate depending on your picking dynamics. Jimi Hendrix erschien 1966 in London und das damals neue Arbiter Electronics Fuzz Face wurde sein bevorzugtes Fuzz-Pedal - der Rest ist Geschichte. Der JHS Pedals Smiley bietet eine klanggetreue Nachbildung der Eigenschaften, die die frühen Silizium Fuzz Faces bis heute zu einem Meilenstein der Musikgeschichte machen. Mehrere Vintage Pedale wurden sorgfältig analysiert um die Magie dieser Ära mit dem Smiley perfekt einzufangen. In 1966 Jimi Hendrix arrived in London and adopted the Arbiter Electronics Fuzz Face as his weapon of choice, and the rest is history. The first few years of the Fuzz Face were manufactured using germanium transistors but by 1969, germanium fully gave way to silicon devices and Arbiter never looked back. Das EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas wurde speziell für die einzigartige Wata von der legendären Experimental-Band Boris entwickelt, eine der härtesten Bands, die jemals aus Japan hervorgegangen sind. Das Hizumitas ist eine originalgetreue Nachbildung von Watas Distortion Pedal Elk BM Sustainar. Das Elk Sustainar ist eine japanische Variante des bekannteren Triangle BMP. Während der Entwicklung analysierten die Designer von EQD mehrere Vintage-Exemplare des BMP sowie verschiedene Versionen des Elk und stellten schnell fest, dass all diese Pedale sich recht deutlich voneinander unterschieden. Um klanglich den sprichwörtlichen Geist in der Flasche einzufangen, gab es nur eine Möglichkeit: Sie mussten Watas Originalpedal in die Finger kriegen. Glücklicherweise war sie so großzügig, ihr geliebtes Pedal um die halbe Welt zu schicken und EQD entdeckte, dass es etwas Besonderes hatte, das die anderen nicht hatten: eine besonders heftige Sättigung, eine ordentliche "Schippe Dreck" und einen massiven Bassbereich. Und dennoch lieferte dieses Pedal ein klares, dynamisches Klangbild mit genug Mitten und Höhen, um sich bei Boris durchzusetzen. Das Ziel war klar: EarthQuaker Devices wollten mit dem Hizumitas all diese Eigenschaften unverfälscht nachbilden! Das Hizumitas sorgt für heftigste Verzerrung und sanftes Sustain. Darunter liegt ein düsterer, körniger Grit, der so klingt, als ob die angeschlossenen Boxen gleich platzen müssten. Dennoch bleiben eine erstaunliche Klarheit und ein aufgeräumtes Klangbild, das man bei einem derart aggressiven Effekt nicht erwarten würde. Der Sustain-Regler hat einen großen Sättigungsbereich, selbst kleine Änderungen haben einen großen Einfluss auf den Gesamtklang. Das Hizumitas reagiert sehr sensibel auf verschiedene Pickup-Typen und Spieltechniken. Power Chords klingen dramatisch und wuchtig, während offene Akkorde dynamisch und mit fantastischer Notentrennung rüberkommen. Und Single Note Leads klingen vor allem am Hals-Pickup strahlend und kraftvoll. Der Tone-Regler ist für diese Art von Distortion untypisch und kann in Verbindung mit der Sustain-Einstellung den Charakter der Verzerrung drastisch verändern. Dreht man den Regler mit dem Uhrzeigersinn werden die Bässe angehoben, dreht man den Regler gegen den Uhrzeigersinn werden die Höhen betont. Der Tone-Regler kann von einer aggressiven Mid-Range bis zu durchdringenden Höhen gehen, wenn man ihn gegen den Uhrzeigersinn dreht. Wenn man ihn im Uhrzeigersinn dreht, werden die Mitten weniger präsent, die Höhen werden gezähmt und ein gewaltiges, donnerndes Low-End kommt in den Vordergrund. Der Volume-Regler bietet massiven Output Gain - die Unity-Gain-Einstellung liegt etwa bei der 9- / 10-Uhr-Position des Volume-Reglers. Bei jeder höheren Einstellung geht der Signalpegel durch die Decke.

The EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas was designed for the one and only Wata from the legendary experimental band Boris, one of the heaviest bands ever to come out of Japan. Hizumitas is a faithful recreation of Wata's go-to distortion pedal, the Elk BM Sustainar. The Elk is a Japanese variant of the very well-known Triangle BMP. The designers at EQD tried several vintage BMP's during development, found that each pedal was wildly different and realized that to truly capture the magic they needed the original. Wata graciously sent her beloved pedal halfway around the world, and EQD discovered that it had something special the others didn't have: heavy saturation with a gritty edge and massive bottom while maintaining a clear and dynamic tone with enough mids and top end to cut through any sludge. The studious wizards at EQD have built all of those characteristics into the Hizumitas! The pedal brings loads of heavy distortion and smooth sustain and an underlying grit that sounds like the speakers are on the verge of ripping apart while delivering amazing and unexpected clarity from such an aggressive sounding pedal. The Sustain control has a wide range of saturation, meaning even small changes will significantly affect the overall tone. Hizumitas responds excellently to all types of pickups and playing dynamics. Your power chords will sound huge and heavy, while open chords will be dynamic with fantastic note separation, and single note leads will come across smooth and powerful, especially with the neck pickup. The Tone control is atypical for this type of distortion and can drastically change the distortion's character in conjunction with the Sustain setting. Bass frequencies are boosted clockwise, and treble frequencies are boosted counterclockwise. The tone control can go from an aggressive mid-range grind to piercing highs as you turn it counterclockwise. As you turn it clockwise, the mids become less present, the highs are tamed, and a humongous, thundering low end comes to the forefront. The Volume control offers massive output gain with unity at around 9-10 o'clock and beyond that, prepare to hear and feel the power of Hizumitas!

Flint ist ein Studio-Qualitäts-Effektpedal, das genau diese klassische Kombination liefert. Wir haben unsere Lieblings-Tremolo- und Reverb-Schaltungen aus der Vergangenheit intensiv analysiert, ihre klanglichen Feinheiten untersucht und sie in unseren aufwendig entwickelten Algorithmen detailgetreu nachgebildet. Flint ist im Grunde zwei Pedale in einem – Tremolo auf der einen, Reverb auf der anderen Seite.

The magical combination of tremolo and reverb is the earliest example of a perfect guitar effects marriage. Flint is a studio-class effects pedal that delivers this classic combination. We carefully studied our favorite classic tremolo and reverb circuits, examined the sonic complexities and faithfully accounted for every detail in our hand-crafted algorithms. Flint is essentially two pedals in one, with tremolo on one half and reverb on the other.

Der Lightspeed Organic Overdrive ist ein Overdrive mit sehr natürlichem Klang. Warum „organisch“? Nun, einfach gesagt, es ist der klarste, natürlichste und beste Overdrive, den wir je gehört haben, für Spieler, die einen natürlichen Drive-Sound suchen. Dieses Pedal harmoniert mit dem Klang der Gitarre und des Verstärkers und hat satte Obertöne und komplexes, aber sanftes Clipping. Der Lightspeed Overdrive reagiert empfindlich auf den Anschlag des Plektrums und hat ein anderes „Gefühl“ als andere Overdrives. Der Lightspeed kann auf „transparent“ eingestellt werden, kann Ihr Signal aber auch bis an den Rand treiben.

The Lightspeed Organic Overdrive is a very natural sounding overdrive. Why "organic"?  Well, simply put, it's the clearest, most natural feeling, and best overdrive we've heard for the player looking for a natural drive tone.  Blending with the tone of the guitar and amplifier, this pedal has rich harmonics and complex but smooth clipping. The Lightspeed Overdrive is sensitive to pick attack and has a different "feel" than other overdrives. The Lightspeed can be set to be "transparent," but can also drive your signal to the edge.

Venus ist ein echter Röhren-Overdrive, inspiriert von einem der größten Meisterwerke des Pedal-Museums.  

Mit ultimativer Vielseitigkeit und Klangformung im Fokus haben wir es uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, eine klassische Röhren-Klangskulptur mit modernen Verfeinerungen nachzubilden – von einem sanften, leichten Röhren-Overdrive bis hin zu einem aggressiven High-Gain-Distortion im Fuzz-Bereich.  

Kompakte Größe, maximale Leistung  
Größe ist wichtig! Ohne Klangqualität zu opfern, haben wir unsere Schaltung in das kleinstmögliche Gehäuse gepackt: 12,6 x 6,6 x 5,7 cm (L x B x H). Anstelle eines internen Step-Down-Transformators haben wir Venus so konzipiert, dass es mit einem standardmäßigen 9V-DC-Netzteil betrieben wird – für minimale Hintergrundgeräusche und Brummen. Das Pedal kann mit dem mitgelieferten Netzteil oder jedem isolierten 9V-DC-Netzteil mit 500mA (Mitte negativ) betrieben werden. Ein speziell entwickelter interner Spannungswandler sorgt dann für die optimalen Betriebsbedingungen mit symmetrischen +/-15V DC.  

Röhrenwahl & Anpassung  
Das klassische Meisterwerk, das Venus inspiriert hat, wurde ursprünglich mit einer ECC83 (12AX7) Doppeltriode geliefert. Für einen sanfteren, saubereren Klang ersetzten viele Nutzer diese Röhre jedoch durch Varianten mit weniger Gain und höherem Headroom, wie die ECC81 (12AT7) oder ECC82 (12AU7). Deshalb haben wir uns für eine ECC832 als Standardröhre entschieden – eine ungewöhnliche Kombination, die eine Hälfte einer ECC83 und eine Hälfte einer ECC82 enthält. Dadurch bleibt der Charakter des Originals erhalten, jedoch mit mehr Klarheit, besserer Saitentrennung und einer breiteren Klangbühne.  

Alle gängigen Doppeltrioden wie ECC83/12AX7, 5751, ECC81/12AT7, 12AY7 oder ECC82/12AU7 können weiterhin eingesetzt werden, um unterschiedliche Klangnuancen zu erzielen. Mit dem Bias-Regler lässt sich der Röhren-Bias steuern, also der Stromfluss durch die Kathoden. Damit kann man den Sweet Spot für verschiedene Röhrentypen finden und gleichzeitig die Verzerrungstextur einstellen – von rau, aggressiv und "gated" (gegen den Uhrzeigersinn) bis hin zu weich und cremig (im Uhrzeigersinn). In der maximalen Rechtsdrehung bietet der Bias-Regler den saubersten Klang für die meisten Röhrentypen.  

Volle Klangkontrolle  
Ein 3-Band-Equalizer gibt dir absolute Kontrolle über das Frequenzspektrum. Mit dem Mittenregler kannst du gezielt zwischen den verschiedenen Klangcharakteristiken der ursprünglichen Einheit wechseln – besonders nützlich für Amps mit leicht abgesenkten Mitten.  

Zusätzlich haben wir einen Push-Schalter integriert, um die Tief- und Tiefmittenanhebung in den Röhren-Gain-Stufen zu steuern. So kannst du zwischen einem satten ("fat") oder straffen ("tight") Klang wählen.  

Ein schaltbarer Low-Output-Impedanz Line Driver (Buffer/Volume Booster) sorgt dafür, dass dein Signal verlustfrei an das nächste Pedal oder den Amp weitergeleitet wird, wobei alle Frequenzen erhalten bleiben. Venus arbeitet immer im True Bypass, unabhängig von der Einstellung des Push-Schalters. Der Line Driver wird nur dann aktiviert, wenn der Effekt eingeschaltet ist.

Venus is a real tube overdrive inspired by one of the greatest masterpieces of the pedal museum.

With ultimate versatility and tone shaping in mind, we set out to recreate a classic tube tone sculpture with modern refinements, generating anything from a smooth, light tube overdrive, to a high-gain, nasty distortion within the realm of fuzz. 

First of all, size matters! Without sacrificing tone, we squeezed our circuit into the smallest possible enclosure, measuring 12.6 x 6.6 x 5.7 cm (L x W x H).  Instead of an internal step-down power transformer, we designed Venus to operate from a standard 9V DC power supply to minimize background noise and hum. The user can operate the pedal from the included power supply or any isolated 9V DC, center-negative power supply output with 500mA current capability. Then a properly designed internal voltage booster/inverter circuit provides the correct voltage conditions (symmetrical +/- 15V DC).

While the classic masterpiece that inspired Venus originally shipped with an ECC83 (12AX7) dual triode tube, users looking for a smoother, cleaner sound replaced the tube with a lower gain/higher headroom variant like ECC81 (12AT7) or ECC82 (12AU7). With that in mind, we selected an ECC832 tube as stock for Venus. This kind of oddball tube features half of an ECC83 and half of an ECC82. The tone is as close as possible to the original “tube sculpture” but with more clarity, string separation and a wider soundstage.

You can still substitute with all the "usual suspects" of dual triode tube types like ECC83/12AX7, 5751, ECC81/12AT7, 12AY7, ECC82/12AU7 for a different sonic flavor. Use the bias knob to set the tube bias/control the current passing through the tube cathodes. By adjusting this knob, you can find the sweet spot for different tube types used and/or set the texture of the overdrive / distortion: from gnarly, nasty and gated (counter-clockwise) to smooth and creamy (clockwise). The full clockwise setting of the bias knob has the cleanest sound for most tube types used.

A full 3-band EQ gives you total control over frequency response. With the mid control, you can sweep through the sounds of all the variants of the unit that inspired Venus and also comes in especially handy if you are using slightly mid-scooped clean amps. To sculpt the tone further and match the pedal to different guitars and/or pickups, we have also added a push switch to set the amount of low and low-mid frequencies boost that hits the tube gain stages between the stock fat or tight sound (when pushed in). A switchable low-output-impedance line driver (buffer/volume booster) ensures that your signal gets properly pushed through to the next pedal or your amp, and all your audio frequencies are retained. The bypass state of Venus is always true bypass regardless of this push button switch setting. The selectable line driver is only placed at the output of the effect when engaged.
