The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Utilizing the MOD slot on all new RockBoards® (except the DUO series), they provide various cable connections to fit a wide variety of needs as a convenient patchbay. From buffer, to boost, to tone enhancer, the Prestige will prove to be a vital and necessary piece of gear for anyone's rig. With the boost knob set to zero, you have in your hands an amazing buffer/enhancer for long cable runs as well as a tool that will simply add some life back into your rig. When the Boost knob is in the first 25% you will get different flavors of the buffer/enhancer as well as slight volume increases. When the Boost knob is set between 25% and 50% you have a powerful, dynamic solo boost that adds definition, clarity and a little magic to your solos and lead passages. When set at 50% or more, the Prestige gives you the ability to break up your tube amp in a smooth and natural way resulting in real tube overdrive from the preamp section of your tube amp. The last 25% of the volume range can completely destroy your amp in the best way possible, resulting in rich soaring sustain, breakup, and on some amps even a smooth warm fuzzy growl.

Und das in einem flachen Gehäuse, das sogar unter ein Pedaltrain Nano Board passt. Das stattliche Kraftwerk bietet laut Angaben des dänischen Herstellers bei 9 Volt massive 4620 mA Strom und wäre damit rein rechnerisch in der Lage, ca. 577 Tubescreamer-Pedale (!) in Betrieb zu halten.

If you use effects pedals, whether on stage or in the studio, running them from a high-quality power supply is essential to getting the best performance and lowest noise out of them. The best power supplies have regulated, electrically isolated outputs, and that gives the same electrical separation as when running the pedals from batteries — but without the obvious disadvantages! There are several excellent power supplies available that offer such features, but CIOKS have managed to come up with an incredibly compact solution, seemingly without compromising on quality or flexibility.

Das EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 klingt ein wenig so, wie es aussieht: Wie ein Sound-Zauberer, der eine riesige Höhle betritt und sich in die Ambient-Reverb-Schlacht wirft. Das Pedal bietet ein extrem breites Spektrum an unterschiedlichen, riesigen, ausladenden und magischen Ambient-Reverbs und deckt von wilden, verschlungenen Hall-Effekten über atmosphärische, kurze, digitale Delays bis zu Staccato-artigen, rhythmischen Wiederholungen mit bizarren Sounds alle denkbaren Effekte ab. Die Regelmöglichkeiten für Length (Länge des Nachhalls), Dampen (Tone), Reflect (Depth, Regeneration) und Mix (Wet/Dry-Mix) sind bekannte Parameter bei Reverb-Pedalen und arbeiten sehr intuitiv. Der Diffuse-Regler kontrolliert die Streuung des Nachhalls und ermöglicht je nach Setting aggressivere Sounds, bei denen das Einsetzen der einzelnen Wiederholungen deutlicher hörbar oder weicher und verwaschener wird. Der Drag-Regler trennt die digitalen Delay-Gruppen voneinander. So rücken den Repeats je nach Setting näher aneinander (Hall-ähnlicher Effekt) oder werden auseinander gezogen, sodass statt eines Halls verstreute Ping-Pong-Effekte zu hören sind.

The EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 sounds a lot like it looks: a sound wizard bursting forth from ethereal cave and ready for the ambient reverb battle. The pedal offers an extremely wide range of different, vast, expansive, and magical ambient reverbs and covers all possible effects from wild and cavernous reverb effects to atmospheric reverberations of short digital delays to scattered, rhythmic delays with bizarre characteristics. The controls for Length (decay length of the reverb), Dampen (tone), Reflect (depth, regeneration) and Mix (wet/dry mix) are well-known parameters for reverb pedals and work very intuitively. The Diffuse knob adjusts the spread of the reverb, turned counterclockwise, the reverb is sharper with more attack, resulting in a stuttering sputter of individual early reflections. Clockwise casts a washy, more ambient-sounding effect. Drag separates the individual digital delay lines, clockwise positions will gather the delay lines close together for a more reverb-like effect. Turn the Drag counterclockwise, and the delay lines will begin to pull apart for a scattered ping-pong delay effect.

Die Walrus Audio Julia ist ein komplett analoges Chorus/Vibrato-Pedal, das mit einigen Besonderheiten aufwarten kann. Obwohl es sich bei den beiden um alteingesessene Standard-Effektsounds handelt, versteht es der amerikanische Boutique-Hersteller, mit einigen Extras jenseits der Norm Interesse zu wecken.
So auch bei der Julia, bei der beispielsweise fließend mit einem Blend-Regler zwischen Chorus und Vibrato gewechselt werden kann. Dazu lässt ein Schalter die Wahl, den LFO zu Sinus- oder Dreieck-Wellenformen zu überreden. Was diese Funktionen klanglich bewirken, schauen wir uns im Folgenden an.

The MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay features a completely analog audio path for the ultimate in rich, warm delay-made possible only by old-school bucket brigade technology. This design boasts an amazing 600ms of delay time with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch and a simple, three-knob layout that controls Delay time, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regen (delay repeats)-all in a pedal no bigger than a Phase 90. In addition, two internal trim pots offer user-adjustable width and rate control of the modulation for even more tonal options. The Carbon Copy will take you from crisp “bathroom” slap echoes to epic, Gilmour-esque delays with a twist of a knob. True hardwire bypass, single 9-volt operation, and stage-ready blue LEDs round out the package.

Over the years the Morning Glory is undoubtedly JHS’ most known and praised overdrive pedal. Its goal was, and still is, to be incredibly easy to use and to be the most transparent overdrive out there. Der RockBoard Power Block ist ein kompaktes Multi-Netzteil für Effektgeräte und bietet 10 Stromanschlüsse zur parallelen Stromversorgung von bis zu 10 Effektpedalen. Mit insgesamt 1.200 mA für die acht 9V-Anschlüsse und insgesamt 800 mA für die zwei 18V-Anschlüsse lassen sich moderne Effektpedal-Setups mühelos mit Storm versorgen. Zum Lieferumfang gehören 10 Verbindungskabel sowie ein 18V DC Netzteil (2.000 mA) mit wechselbaren Stecker-Adaptern.

Drawn from the effect engines of the award-winning Nemesis Delay and Ventris Dual Reverb, Collider offers the best delay and reverb effects in one compact, no-compromise package. The pedal allows for any combination of its five delay engines with any of its seven reverb effects and has dedicated ON/OFF switches for each effect. It is also possible to create independent dual delay or dual reverb presets. The pedal has dedicated MIDI input/output as well as support for expression control and remote switching. The Collider contains two completely independent 56-bit DSP processors, essentially housing a high-powered delay pedal and a high-powered reverb pedal in a single box. Its dual DSP platform gives the pedal the massive processing power to deliver two studio quality effects simultaneously.
