The Protein 2 in 1 Overdrive is a collaboration between David Brown and guitarist/producer Adam Sniegowski.  After years on the road and in the studio using backline amps that could be very inconsistent,  Adam came to Dave wanting to create a dual overdrive that would sound great with any backline he encountered. They started with two drives they loved, stacked well together, but had a few inherent issues. Dave set out to fix those issues without losing the soul of the originals.

Protein Dual Overdrive V3 (Black)

While this pedal originated as the “blue side” of the Protein Dual Overdrive, it is now available as a stand alone pedal. This “blue” pedal has been a favorite of many all over the world and is an incredibly versatile overdrive pedal allowing an incredible amount of drive options from clean boost all the way to screaming overdrive lead tones. 
The Carbon V2 features the addition of a HIGH-CUT toggle. The High-Cut allows you to tame just the right amount of those airy highs in a way that makes stacking two Carbons or a Carbon with the Blue Side of the Protein, a beautiful thing.  It also tames some of the chime and increases flexibility when stacking or using brighter amps.

The Carbon Midnight Black V2

The Nashville Overdrive is the green side of the Protein Dual Overdrive as a stand-alone unit. While this circuit originated from the classic ODR-1 circuit, this is not an ODR-1 clone. Browne Amps lowered the gain to make it useable throughout the entire sweep of the knob, adjusted the EQ section to make it less scooped, restored some of the mids and tightened up the low end (to add just the right amount of low mid “beef” back into your tone without becoming muddy). They also redesigned the power section to make it feel more like a tube amp that is working hard! This is a unique overdrive all on its own.

The "Blue" side is a modified Bluesbreaker-style circuit revoiced for increased output and improved tone control, while the "Green" side is based on the "Nashville" ODR-1 circuit with tightened low-end and adjusted midrange. Version 4 introduces a three-way high-cut toggle for the Blue side and three internal dip-switches for the Green side to adjust bass cut and clipping modes. The pedal is designed for optimal gain stacking, running the Green circuit into the Blue to create a third unique tonal profile. It features soft-relay switching and a TRS split mode for use with external loop switchers.

Protein V4 (Green)

This is a relatively low-gain device, so even with the right-hand knob maxed out you’re not going to fall into a vat of hot fuzz – but as it turns out, you may not even want to push it past halfway. And you may also not want to turn it off: the Carbon can be broadly classed as a transparent overdrive, and it absolutely excels as an always-on enhancer for a clean amp.
