Der LAB ist ein optischer Kompressor. Er verwendet spezielle Optokoppler, um eine musikalisch klingende Kompression von bis zu 30 dB zu erreichen.
Wir fanden es toll, wie die alten optischen Kompressoren wie der LA-2A, der LA-3 und der LA-4 im Aufnahmestudio selbst bei starker Kompression weich und natürlich klangen.

Die Essenz des LAB-Klangs kommt von den schnellen Attack- und langsamen Release-Zeiten des speziellen Optokopplers. Das Verhalten des Optokopplers ist recht komplex und programmabhängig. Es kann nicht mit einfachen Widerstands-Kondensator-Netzwerken modelliert werden. Wir wollten, dass das reine Verhalten des Optokopplers die Dynamik des LABs bestimmt und nicht durch RC-Filterung ergänzt wird.

The LAB is an optical compressor. It uses custom optocouplers to achieve up to 30dB of musical-sounding compression.
We loved how in the recording studio even with tons of compression the old optical compressors such as the LA-2A, the LA-3, the LA-4 sounded smooth and natural.

The essence of the LAB's sound comes from the fast attack and slow release times of the custom optocoupler. The optocoupler's behaviour is quite complex, and program-dependent. It can't be modelled with simple resistor-capacitor networks. We wanted the pure response of the optocoupler to define the LAB's dynamics, and not supplement that with RC filtering.

This unit is intended for bass and has a fuzz with parallel clean boost/blend. Controls are simply Fuzz (on the left) and Clean (on the right). Both effects work independent of each other and can be completely dialed off. The clean gain side of the SUB BUZZ is capable of +20db. Draw is 15mA.

Deluxe version has a wooden box, bandana, and laser engraved badge.

Ok, so you have eight effects pedals which you use regularly. You use various combinations of these pedals in various songs, but you are not good at tap dancing…or you are just clumsy and have (once or twice) stepped on the ultra tricked out-metalized-distortion pedal for the lead in your one ABBA cover. You have seen the digital effects controllers they use on the big stages, and have secretly yearned for one… even though you may never make the big stage. Enter Thomas Guldmann’s Octa-switch MK3. Your eight effects plug into the eight effects-loops on the back of this unit (all true-bypass, impedance free, gold relays so you can run any of your pedals, new and old without problem), and then by turning on or off the numbered switches in each of eight DIP Bank switches, you determine which effects you wish to use simultaneously in each Bank. There is a blue LED for every effects loop used and for each Bank (so once you are programmed, when you step on Bank 6 you will see the lights of all the effects you have assigned to Bank 6 and the Bank 6 LED). The Octa-switch MK3 has incorporated a couple new features as well! The ninth switch on the left side of the case is a BYPASS Switch….this allows you to completely bypass all eight pedals and enjoy only the unaffected sound of your amplifier. There are also two External Switching jacks which allow you to use two amplifiers and/or switch channels on those amps. Once you have all the Banks programmed, we recommend placing a piece of scotch or electrical tape over each DIP (….just to protect the switch from accidental switching, damage or floods….like beer). There is a buffered (or not….switchable) Mono input and a stereo Output, and the unit is powered by dual 9v batteries, or by a regulated power supply…like the PowerJack or the Pro Power (both by Carl Martin).

Was ist also dieses verrückte Pedal? Nun, auf den ersten Blick sieht es aus wie viele andere Carl Martin-Pedale... es gibt einen High Gain-Kanal, der jede Menge Bässe und schöne knackige Höhen hat, einen sehr dynamischen Crunch-Kanal, der die Mitten mit sehr wenig Kompression betont, und natürlich den berühmten 12db Boost-Kanal, den wir alle so gut kennen.

So what is this crazy pedal? Well, at first glance it looks like many other Carl Martin pedals…there is a High Gain channel which has loads of bottom end and nice crisp highs, a very dynamic Crunch channel which emphasises the mids with very little compression, and of course that famous 12db Boost channel that we are all so familiar with.

The EF-P2 features a three-spring reverb tank, adjustable Spring Drive, Bass / Treble EQ controls, and Reverb Volume control. Sporting True-Bypass,Tap-Tempo, external Tap jack, Half/Double hold feature, up to 15dB boost, true Square, Sine, and the natural heartbeat-like Warble wave-forms! It also can do speeds so slow that a full cycle takes around 10 seconds, and fast speeds beyond 220bpm. The heart of the ST-1 is still there, the warm Analog Devices JFET preamp. And this pedal is so small it will fit in your pocket, and with its top-mounted jacks, will fit in any little spot on your board. Don't forget, just like the ST-1, the Jr also works as an incredible clean boost with the Mix control turned down!

Der Avalanche Run ist ein verträumtes Sonic Discovery-Device mit bis zu 2 Sekunden Delay-Zeit und einem üppigen Stereo-Reverb. Es bietet vollständige Kontrolle über die Verzögerungszeit, Wiederholungen, Mix und Voice (mit dem Tone Regler), sowie Kontrolle über die Hallfahnen-Länge und Reverb Mix. Es kann in einem von 3 verschiedenen Modi betrieben werden: Normal, Reverse und Swell. Im "Normal" -Modus fungiert der Avalanche-Run als direktes Delay und Reverb. Im "Reverse" -Modus ist die Delay Spur umgekehrt und der Reverb bleibt im normalen Modus. Im "Swell" -Modus reagiert der Avalanche Run auf deine Picking-Dynamik und fügt dem gesamten Signalweg einen Volume Swell hinzu, ähnlich wie beim manuellen Auf- und Zudrehen des Volume Reglers deiner Gitarre. Ausgestattet mit einer Kombination aus True Bypass und Buffered Bypass mit Trails-Funktion wird auch das Avalanche Run in Handarbeit in Ohio/USA hergestellt. The Avalanche Run is a dreamy sonic discovery device with up to 2 seconds of delay time and a lush stereo reverb. It features complete control over delay time, repeats, mixand voice (with the tone control), as well as control over the reverb length and mix. It can run in one of 3 different modes: Normal, Reverse and Swell. In “Normal”mode, the Avalanche Run functions as a straightforward delay and reverb. In “Reverse”mode, the delay line is in reverse and the reverb remains in normal mode. In “Swell”mode, the Avalanche Run reacts to your picking dynamics and adds a volume swell to the entire signal path much like manually raising and lowering the volume of your guitar.
