Description
The BOSS GT-5 is a legendary multi-effects processor released in 1996, often regarded as one of the most "organic" sounding units in the GT series. It was revolutionary for being the first floor processor to feature COSM (Composite Object Sound Modeling) technology for its preamp and speaker simulations. Unlike its successors, the GT-5 features a hybrid design: while the modulation and spatial effects are digital, the overdrive and distortion section is actually analog, giving it a grit and responsiveness that many purists still prefer over later all-digital models. It is built like a tank in a heavy-duty steel chassis and features a built-in expression pedal and a highly flexible internal routing system.
