The pedal is called Supreme because it simply excels in both tone and functionality. Supreme was born in collaboration with the world famous tone connoisseur Matt Schofield. Matt was looking after the best guitar overdrive tones possible and a specific functionality: two pedals in one, switching from one side to the other with just a single press on the switch.

The tones were set for a great all around boost to low gain drive on the A side used mostly on a neck pickup. The A side is heavily based on our famous Royal Blue Overdrive pedal. And for the B side a fat dynamic tone containing some ”power amp” response with a lot of headroom. The B side is a completely new design and is used mostly on a bridge pickup. This is the way Matt prefers to use the Supreme pedal.

This dual-voice bass octave pedal delivers organic, fully analog sub-octave generation designed specifically to retain low-frequency clarity. It incorporates proprietary Constant Headroom Technology to internally elevate a standard incoming power source to eighteen volts, significantly improving tracking accuracy and preventing unwanted signal clipping. The layout houses independent volume controls for two distinct sub-octave voices, allowing musicians to blend a throaty midrange tone with a deep, smooth low-end sub-voice. A switchable parallel midrange boost can be engaged to inject punch back into the clean signal path, customizable via internal frequency and gain adjustments. Encased in a lightweight aluminum housing with true hardwire bypass, it preserves the instrument's natural tone when disengaged.

Was ist daran so besonders?

The Pitchblack XS not only features a true bypass for outputting the sound exactly as it was input, but now includes a built-in ULTRA BUFFER.

Why is this important?

The majority of electric guitars use passive pickups with a high impedance output. When you are using a cable there is a loss of tone, usually high frequencies, after about 6 m (around 18 feet) and this problem gets worse the longer your cable. A buffer boosts the signal over long cables to avoid loss of tone, keeping it clean and clear - even when your pedal is off.

The ULTRA BUFFER enhances the sound quality in bypass mode, so that you can still maintain audio quality even when using a long cable to connect to the tuner, or when inserting the tuner into a complex effects board.

On the Pitchblack XS, you can switch between true bypass and the ULTRA BUFFER, according to your tastes and environment.
