Description
The API Select TranZformer GTR incorporates API’s legendary EQ circuitry into a versatile, compact pedal format for guitarists. It features a variable-gain preamp that can toggle between a clean boost and an overdrive mode, driving the proprietary API 2510 OpAmp into saturation. The 3-band EQ is based on the classic API 553 program equalizer, providing musical and targeted frequency sculpting. A key feature is the signature API output transformer, which imparts the iconic analog warmth and weight associated with their studio consoles. Designed as a high-end "channel strip" for the pedalboard, it also includes a switchable -20 dB output pad. It is part of the API Select series, aiming to bring professional studio-grade processing to live performance rigs.Media
