Description

The API Select TranZformer CMP translates the circuitry of the legendary API 527 VCA compressor into a pedalboard-friendly format. It features the proprietary API 2510 OpAmp and a signature output transformer to deliver iconic, punchy studio-grade compression. A standout feature is the selectable compression type, allowing users to toggle between "Old" (Feedback mode, similar to the classic 525) and "New" (modern Feed-forward mode). The pedal also includes a Wet/Dry blend control for parallel compression and adjustable Attack and Release settings via toggle switches. The signal path is fully analog, designed to provide studio-quality dynamics control in a rugged stompbox. It belongs to the API Select series, which adapts high-end studio technology for live performance.
